For one Hindi video, add an OBS Media Source and enable Loop. For a playlist of multiple videos, add a VLC Video Source and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for that source to appear; on 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC.
Choose the right OBS source
| What you want to play | OBS source | End-of-playback setting | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|---|
| One local Hindi video file | Media Source | Loop | No VLC prerequisite is stated for this source. |
| Several files in a playlist | VLC Video Source | Loop Playlist | VLC installed; use 64-bit VLC with 64-bit OBS. |
OBS documents Media Source Loop and VLC Video Source playlist settings. Its Sources Guide explains how to add a source from the Sources dock.

Set up a single video to repeat
- Open the OBS scene where the Hindi video should play.
- In the Sources dock, click + and choose Media Source.
- Select the video file.
- Enable Loop, then confirm the source settings.
- Check that the video plays in the OBS preview.
Loop repeats the file after playback completes. OBS documents this setting as off by default. The separate Restart playback when source becomes active option starts the file from the beginning when the source is in the current scene and visible; it does not control what happens at the end. OBS documents that option as on by default.

Set up a multi-video Hindi playlist to repeat
- Open the target scene and click + at the bottom of the Sources dock.
- Choose VLC Video Source.
- Add the Hindi video files to the source playlist in the order you want them played.
- Enable Loop Playlist.
- Check the playlist in the OBS preview before relying on it during a live stream.
Loop Playlist restarts the source after it has run out of media files. OBS documents it as on by default. Shuffle Playlist randomizes playback instead of keeping the file-list order; its documented default is off.

If VLC Video Source is missing
Install VLC, then reopen OBS. The VLC source depends on VLC being installed. Match the software architecture: 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
Control what happens when the source is hidden
The VLC source’s Visibility Behaviour setting determines whether playback continues, pauses, or stops when the source is not visible. OBS documents the default as Stop when not visible, restart when visible. This is separate from Loop Playlist, which governs playback when the playlist runs out of files.

Optional third-party playlist source
The third-party Media Playlist Source plugin is another option. Its listing describes a setting to play the first file after the last file in the list and includes other playlist controls. You do not need it for basic playlist looping because OBS’s VLC Video Source already has Loop Playlist. Check the plugin listing for compatibility with your OBS version before installing it.
