To loop recorded Elden Ring boss-fight footage on a YouTube livestream, create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, then use an encoder that can play the recordings in sequence and repeat them. YouTube provides the stream URL and private stream key; the encoder handles playback and looping. Preview and test the feed before going live, and plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive limit if you need the broadcast saved as a VOD.

What you need for a continuous Elden Ring VOD stream

  • Recorded Elden Ring boss-fight videos that you have the right to stream.
  • A YouTube channel with live streaming available and access to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
  • An encoder that can play your recordings in sequence and repeat the playlist. The exact controls vary by application; YouTube’s encoder guidance does not specify a particular looping program or its menu steps.
  • A reliable connection and enough local storage if you will also record a backup.

This setup streams recorded video as a live broadcast; it is not a live camera or gameplay capture. YouTube’s encoder workflow is described in its instructions for creating a live stream with an encoder.

Set up the YouTube encoder stream

  1. In YouTube Studio, open Create and select Go live to enter the Live Control Room. Choose the encoder workflow and configure the stream’s title, visibility, and other stream details.
  2. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in the Live Control Room into the encoder’s connection settings. Treat the key as a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. YouTube explains the key and stream settings in its live stream settings guide.
  3. In the encoder, select the recorded boss-fight videos as the source. Arrange them in the order you want, then enable playlist repeat or the equivalent loop option. The precise labels and behavior depend on the encoder; confirm that it returns to the first video after the last one rather than stopping.
  4. Set the encoder’s output to a resolution and bitrate your upload connection can sustain. For the keyframe interval, YouTube recommends 2 seconds and says not to exceed 4 seconds; this is general live-encoder guidance, not an Elden Ring-specific setting. Check YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions and match the encoder’s output to the stream configuration.
  5. Keep the Live Control Room open and preview the feed before starting the public broadcast. YouTube recommends testing with representative movement and audio, checking the preview, and monitoring stream health and audio/video quality. See its live streaming tips.
  6. Start the encoder output and confirm the Live Control Room receives it. Start the broadcast from the control room unless you have deliberately configured and tested YouTube’s auto-start behavior. Watch the preview and stream health after going live.

Choose between an uninterrupted broadcast and reliable archives

Continuous playback and reliable VOD archiving are not the same goal. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving each broadcast matters, schedule separate sessions shorter than 12 hours, leave time for the handoff, and verify that each archive appears after the session ends. The limit is documented in YouTube’s live stream archiving guidance; YouTube does not promise an archive for streams over that duration.

Make a local recording as a second copy, and check during the broadcast that the recording file is actually growing. YouTube also recommends maintaining a local archive rather than relying only on the online archive.

Set DVR for viewers if you want live rewind

DVR is a viewer control: it lets viewers pause and resume, and can allow them to seek back during the live broadcast. It does not loop the encoder’s playlist or make the stream source recover after a failure. Enable or disable DVR in the stream’s settings in Live Control Room according to whether you want viewers to seek back. YouTube says rewind functionality can be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours; disabling DVR prevents seeking back during the live show, though viewers may still watch a recording after it is available. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.

Check game footage rights and channel eligibility

Only stream gameplay recordings you are entitled to use, including the game footage, soundtrack, overlays, and any third-party audio or video in the VODs. A live encoder setup does not grant rights to material in the source files. Review YouTube’s applicable copyright rules and any relevant game-publisher permissions before broadcasting; the platform’s live-stream setup guidance is not a guarantee that particular content is cleared.

Also consider whether a channel built around looping recordings offers viewers meaningful, original value. Replaying substantially identical footage is not, by itself, evidence that the channel qualifies for monetization. YouTube’s monetization review is separate from the technical ability to go live, so check current YouTube Partner Program policies before relying on revenue from a looped stream.

Troubleshoot common failures

  • No signal in Live Control Room: check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and current stream key, and that it is actively sending. If the key was exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
  • The playlist stops at the end: verify the encoder’s repeat or loop setting and test through the final clip into the first one before going live. YouTube’s platform settings do not control source playlist looping.
  • Video appears but audio is missing or distorted: inspect the selected audio track and encoder levels, then preview a representative clip with game audio before broadcasting.
  • Playback stutters or stream health degrades: check the encoder’s output settings and available upload bandwidth; reduce the output resolution or bitrate if the connection cannot sustain the chosen settings. Monitor YouTube’s stream health rather than assuming a successful initial connection will remain stable.
  • The stream ends or reconnects: investigate the encoder, computer, and network connection. Do not assume a reconnect will resume cleanly at the correct playlist position; test that behavior and keep a local recording.
  • No YouTube archive appears: check whether the session exceeded 12 hours, then verify the archive status after ending shorter sessions. Keep the local recording as the recovery copy.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the Elden Ring recordings, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; it loops the videos in the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Every quality up to 4K 60fps streams as uploaded at one flat price per slot. StreamNeo can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the monthly option is $9.99 per month. It streams to YouTube only, and you should still ensure the footage is cleared for use and consider YouTube’s archive limits.
