Make the playlist from an existing vertical video or Short using More → Save → Create new playlist, then add the other relevant videos. A playlist organizes video assets; it is not the live stream itself. To make the live showcase vertical, configure that format in YouTube Studio before you start—the format cannot be added after the stream is underway.

Name the playlist and choose a visibility option offered in your account.

Repeat the save action for the other relevant videos and add them to the playlist.
YouTube describes playlists as collections of videos. Some playlist functionality may not be available when a playlist contains only Shorts, so check how the current interface behaves in your account. YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists.
Configure the live showcase before starting

In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go live and configure the scheduled stream in Live Control Room.

Choose vertical delivery, or use Live Control Room dual streaming if you want to deliver both vertical and horizontal formats. YouTube’s dual-stream vertical version uses a center crop by default; layout options include Fit to phone width and Stacked.

Preview the vertical composition. Make sure the product remains visible in the phone layout, especially if the source scene is framed for horizontal viewing.

If you use a third-party encoder, follow YouTube’s RTMP(S) dual-stream setup and use the corresponding stream keys. Decide on vertical delivery before going live: YouTube says, “You can’t add the vertical format once the stream has started.”
In the Shorts feed on mobile, viewers see the vertical version; other viewers see the horizontal version when dual streaming. Both use the same live chat. YouTube’s format comparison lists clickable links in chat or the channel description, pre-roll and mid-roll ads, and live redirect as horizontal-only capabilities, so do not promise them for the vertical live feed. Tag products only when eligible and relevant
Eligible creators can add product tags through the Shopping tab in Live Control Room. Tags can be added before the stream and after it ends; post-stream tags appear during replays. Whether viewers can see a product depends on supported regions, shipping availability, retailer availability, and content eligibility. Made-for-kids or ineligible-for-monetization content does not show product tags.

For products from other brands, the channel must meet YouTube Shopping eligibility requirements and the products must be available through selected retailers.

Tag only products that viewers can clearly identify and that are meaningfully related to the showcase. YouTube says tagged products should be prominent, clearly depicted, and safely used as intended.

Eligibility for promoting products from other brands includes YouTube Partner Programme and subscriber-threshold criteria, supported creator locations, and restrictions for music channels and channels with certain policy issues. Check account-level eligibility in Studio because supported locations and requirements can change.

YouTube uploads a live archive to the channel by default. Add the archive and useful highlight clips to the showcase playlist to keep the event and related vertical videos together.
For qualifying mobile streams, YouTube may offer a Short highlight. The stream must be 10 minutes to 12 hours, vertical, streamed with the YouTube mobile app, not a screencast, have chat enabled, not be made for kids, and meet safety requirements. A saved highlight defaults to private; change its visibility if you want it public. YouTube recommends: “Organize the archive and highlight clips into playlists.” See YouTube Help: Promote your live stream.
