YouTube Studio lets you schedule a livestream and enable encoder-controlled auto-start and auto-stop, but those settings do not create a daily timetable. To restart a sermon stream every day, schedule the event in YouTube, then configure daily recurrence in your encoder or a separate scheduling workflow. Test the complete sequence on the church’s actual setup before relying on it.
What you need to make a daily restart work
The schedule and the live video feed are separate pieces. YouTube Studio creates the stream event; an encoder—software or standalone hardware—sends the sermon video to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key. The cited YouTube guidance documents scheduling and encoder start/stop controls, but not a daily recurrence option in Studio.

- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- An encoder or scheduling arrangement that supports timed daily recurrence. The exact setup depends on the encoder, operating system, and equipment; the available YouTube instructions do not establish a product-specific recipe.
- The sermon recording or live feed, a stable connection, and access to the stream URL and key shown in YouTube Studio.
Set up and schedule the YouTube stream
- Enable live streaming early. Verify the channel and confirm it can go live. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation before the intended first broadcast.
- Create the event. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room, choose Manage, then Schedule Stream. Enter the event details. YouTube says scheduled events can appear as upcoming so viewers can set reminders, and settings can be reused from a previous stream. These directions describe scheduling an event, not daily recurrence. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Connect the encoder. Enter the stream URL and stream key displayed in the Live Control Room into your encoder. The key authorizes the encoder to send video to your channel; handle it like a credential and do not share it publicly.
- Set auto-start and auto-stop if appropriate. YouTube’s stream settings allow the encoder to start and stop the stream. Those controls can be retained when reusing settings, but they are not a daily clock or recurrence schedule. Follow the instructions for your particular encoder or scheduler to set a daily start and end.
Configure recurrence outside YouTube’s event schedule
Use the timing controls in the encoder or in a separate scheduling workflow to arrange one session per day. The exact labels and steps vary by product, so do not assume that a setting called “auto-start” means “start every day.” Check the encoder’s own documentation and verify that the process ends one session and starts the next at the times you intend.
- Confirm the correct event, video or input is selected for each run.
- Check whether the encoder must remain powered on, logged in, connected to the internet, or running a specific application.
- Find out what the setup does if the connection drops or the encoder restarts. Do not assume it will resume or relaunch automatically unless you have verified that behavior.
- Choose a clear end time for each session. A daily restart should begin a new session rather than depend on one stream staying live indefinitely.
Test the full daily sequence before relying on it
- Run a complete rehearsal using the actual sermon file or feed, encoder, network connection, and schedule.
- Start the encoder ahead of the event and check the Live Control Room preview. YouTube recommends advance setup, preview checks, and monitoring stream quality; see YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
- Confirm that the stream starts, ends, and starts again at the next scheduled time. Check the YouTube event and the encoder rather than assuming that a successful first run proves the recurrence works.
- Simulate or observe the relevant interruption scenarios where practical, such as a brief network loss or an encoder restart. Verify the behavior on your own equipment; the cited YouTube guidance does not promise unattended recovery.
Protect the daily archive
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. That makes a defined end point important: keep each daily run under 12 hours if you need the automatic archive, then check YouTube after the broadcast to confirm the recording is available. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

- Compact but Powerful Design: ZowieBox is smaller than a phone, featuring a tally light and LCD screen for streaming status. Capture console gameplay in up to 4K with zero-lag HDMI passthrough, while the built-in video encoder converts video for IP streaming. The IP stream can also be decoded back to a 4K HDMI signal.
- Standalone Game Streaming: Just plug and play—ZowieBox enables PC-free live gaming without affecting gameplay. As an RTMP hardware encoder and HDMI streamer, it delivers stable streaming directly from your source, making it ideal for gaming, live events, and professional broadcasting.
- NDI|HX3 Converter Technology: ZowieBox converts HDMI signals to NDI|HX3/HX2/HX, functioning as an NDI video encoder, or NDI Video Decoder for flexible IP workflows. Certified NDI technology enables low-latency gameplay streaming through OBS/vMix. Note: Encoder and decoder modes cannot run simultaneously; full NDI signals are not supported.
- UVC to HDMI Conversion: Supporting up to 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps decoding, ZowieBox enables flexible conversion for webcam and video workflows. As a video decoder and HDMI to IP converter, it expands connectivity options for professional video devices. Note: USB capture card functionality is not currently supported.
- All-around Configuration Options: Control ZowieBox through its web UI on a PC, phone, or tablet. Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.
Troubleshooting daily restarts
- The stream does not start at the scheduled time: Check that live streaming is enabled, the encoder or scheduler is running, the daily recurrence is configured in the correct system, and the current stream URL and key are entered.
- YouTube shows an event, but no video arrives: Confirm the encoder is sending content to the event’s stream URL and key. YouTube’s instruction is to stop sending content from the encoder to end a stream; event scheduling alone does not supply the feed.
- The stream starts but does not end: Review the encoder’s stop schedule and YouTube auto-stop setting. Confirm that the daily workflow ends one session before the next begins.
- A connection interruption prevents the next run: Check whether your encoder or scheduler retries, resumes, or relaunches after a network or power interruption. Recovery behavior depends on that specific setup and should be tested rather than presumed.
- The archive is missing: Check the stream duration. YouTube may not capture streams longer than 12 hours, so confirm that each session ended within that limit if an automatic archive is required.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the sermon is a prerecorded video, StreamNeo is a cloud option for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera.
