For a quick visual record, use your browser’s full-page screenshot feature, save the file, then inspect it from the page title through the final item. In Firefox, enable the “Take a screenshot of the entire page” Developer Tools button and click it, or run :screenshot --fullpage in the Web Console. A capture is only useful as a record if it actually includes the whole collection and enough context to identify what you saved.
Make a full-page screenshot in Firefox
- Open the collection page you want to preserve.
- Open Developer Tools settings and find “Available Toolbox Buttons.” Enable “Take a screenshot of the entire page.”
- Click the screenshot icon in the Developer Tools toolbar. Firefox saves the image in the browser’s Downloads directory.
Alternatively, open the Web Console and enter :screenshot --fullpage. Mozilla documents this helper for capturing beyond the visible viewport. It also supports options such as --filename, --delay, and --dpr. Use a distinct filename for each capture: Mozilla warns that capturing again to the same filename overwrites the earlier image. Mozilla also documents “Screenshot Node” for capturing a selected page element, and a setting for copying screenshots to the clipboard. Those are useful for a panel or temporary copy, but they are not the default choice when you need a complete collection record.
Choose a route if you use another browser or a phone
Full-page capture options differ by browser version and platform, so confirm the resulting file rather than relying on a menu name alone. A current how-to search result lists Edge Web Capture / Capture full page, Firefox’s Save full page, Chrome DevTools’ Capture a full size screenshot, and Safari’s Export as PDF. Another result describes Safari on iPhone’s Full Page option and Android scrolling capture. These routes were surfaced in search snippets rather than opened vendor documentation; exact labels and availability may change. The practical test is whether the saved output contains the collection all the way to its bottom edge. Microsoft Edge Web Capture, Chrome help, and Safari help are useful starting points for checking platform-specific options.

When a capture extension may help
If the built-in browser route misses content or you want an image/PDF export workflow, an extension is one option. The Chrome Web Store listing for GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture says to click its extension icon or use Alt+Shift+P; it scrolls through the page and assembles a capture. The listing describes PNG, JPEG, and PDF exports, and says very large captures can be split into images in separate tabs. The listing showed version 8.9, updated September 25, 2026. Installing an extension adds software to the browser, so use it only if its workflow solves a problem the built-in route does not.
No capture method is guaranteed to reproduce every site structure. Dynamic collection pages, embedded frames, and nested scroll areas can behave differently from an ordinary page; inspect the output carefully and try a route that can capture the relevant content if something is missing.

Check and label the saved record
- Include identifying context. Make sure the page title and collection identity are visible. If the title is outside the captured area, record it separately.
- Inspect the entire output, especially the final items and bottom edge, for truncation or missing content.
- Save the page URL and capture date in the filename or an adjacent note, for example
collection-name_2026-10-03.png. This is a practical label, not browser-generated proof of when the image was made. - If the live collection can change, treat the screenshot as a dated visual snapshot rather than a continuing copy of the page. Keep the original file unchanged if you may need to demonstrate what you captured.
- Choose PDF when page-sized pagination, printing, or sharing is useful. A single image is often easier to inspect as one continuous visual record; PDF availability and behavior depend on the capture route.

Troubleshooting a missing or incomplete capture
- The image ends before the collection does: use a full-page option rather than an ordinary viewport screenshot, then inspect the bottom edge. If the page uses nested scrolling or loads items dynamically, test whether the chosen route includes that content.
- The page title is missing: keep a separate note with the title and URL, or ensure identifying context is present in the saved record.
- A new Firefox capture replaced the old one: choose a unique filename with
--filenamebefore capturing again; Mozilla warns that the same filename is overwritten. - You cannot find the Firefox image: check the browser’s Downloads directory, where the documented Developer Tools button saves it.
- The capture does not show a frame or scrollable panel: a full-page screenshot of the outer document may not include content held in an embedded frame or nested scroll area. Inspect the output and use a capture route capable of representing the particular content, or preserve that section separately.
