For recurring Assamese-language church services, schedule a separate YouTube livestream for each service, then connect the church’s camera and audio feed through an encoder. A literal 24/7 stream of prerecorded video is a different setup: it does not broadcast a live camera service. YouTube’s normal scheduled-event workflow is for individual broadcasts, not a guaranteed always-on channel feed.
Choose between recurring services and a 24/7 video feed
If the congregation wants to watch each Sunday service as it happens, create a new scheduled live event for each service on the church’s YouTube channel. Each event has its own watch page; a livestream under 12 hours is automatically archived by YouTube, though you should check the recording’s availability and rights status afterward.

If “continuous” means uninterrupted playback around the clock, that is not the same as broadcasting the church’s camera and sound system live. It requires a separate video-playout arrangement. Do not assume that a scheduled YouTube event will keep a live feed running indefinitely.

Check the channel before planning the service
- The channel must be verified and must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- The person streaming must be at least 16 years old under YouTube’s current requirements.
- Enable livestreaming in advance. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave it until the day of the service.
- Choose a title, description, and privacy setting that fit the congregation. Assamese-language details can help local viewers recognize the service; use any additional language information your congregation needs.
Route the church’s camera and sound to an encoder
An encoder workflow is generally the right fit when the service uses an external camera, the sanctuary sound system, or several video sources. YouTube identifies cameras, microphones, mixers, and hardware encoders as equipment used for professional livestreams; compatibility depends on the actual ports and capabilities of your equipment. Start with what the church already has rather than assuming new or expensive gear is necessary.

- Identify the video source. Confirm how the camera sends its picture to the encoder, and check that the output and encoder input are compatible.
- Choose a clean audio feed. Ask the sound operator for a suitable feed from the mixer. Test it independently: a camera microphone may capture room noise or distant speech rather than the clear mix heard in the sanctuary.
- Connect and monitor both signals. Confirm that the encoder receives the intended picture and sound. If the production uses multiple cameras, verify switching and audio behavior before the service.
- Keep a local recording if possible. YouTube’s tips recommend testing failover and checking local archive files for encoder productions. A local copy gives the church a separate recording to review if the online stream or archive has a problem.
Schedule the event and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule the service event.
- Set its audience-facing title, description, privacy, and scheduled start time. Scheduling gives viewers a watch page they can share and lets them set reminders.
- In the event’s stream settings, copy the server or stream URL and the stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key as private: someone with access to it may be able to send a stream to the channel.
- Start the encoder and wait for the preview to appear in Live Control Room. Check framing, movement, speech clarity, and whether the sound is synchronized with the picture.
- Start the event in YouTube when the preview is ready, following the prompts in Live Control Room. Keep an operator available to watch stream health and respond to problems.
Rehearse the whole signal path with sound and movement similar to the actual service. YouTube recommends preparing an encoder event at least two hours ahead and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the event; these are planning recommendations, not technical prerequisites. Its guidance also says, “You do not need expensive equipment, what you have at hand will do.”
Choose a stable resolution and encoder profile
YouTube can detect resolution and frame rate automatically. Its current encoding guidance supports RTMP or RTMPS and H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1; RTMPS is recommended because it encrypts data sent to YouTube. H.264 is a practical option when supported by the church’s encoder.

These figures are encoder video bitrates, not a promise that the church’s internet connection needs only that much upload capacity. Run a speed test under conditions similar to the service and leave upload headroom for network variation and other activity. Choose a profile that stays stable in rehearsal; a lower, steady-quality stream is more useful than a higher setting that repeatedly drops.

- Keyframes: set a two-second interval; do not exceed four seconds.
- Frame rate: use a setting the camera, encoder, and connection can sustain. YouTube supports up to 60 fps, but a church service does not need to use the maximum.
- Test before the event: check stream health and watch the preview on another device, ideally over a viewer’s ordinary connection.
Clear music and other rights before going live
The church must have the necessary rights for everything it streams, including music. Check permissions for the livestream and for any recording that will remain available afterward. This applies to hymns, accompaniment recordings, projected song videos, and other third-party material.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn the creator; if the matched content continues, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even when the church has licensed material, the rights owner may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist or the stream could still be interrupted.
Do not assume that owning a physical recording, having a local performance licence, or crediting a composer automatically grants permission to livestream or archive a performance online. Ask the relevant rights holder or licensing body what the licence covers for the church’s territory and intended use.

End the broadcast and verify the archive
- End the event in YouTube Studio and wait for YouTube to show that it has stopped.
- Stop the encoder after the event has ended on YouTube.
- Check that the recording appears in the channel’s Live tab and can be opened from a viewer device.
- Review the archived video for sound, picture, and access issues, and confirm that its rights status allows it to remain available.
YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours. That is useful for reviewing a service, but it does not make one livestream a permanent archive; check the resulting video and retain a local copy if the church needs one.
