For playback that continues with your computer off, use a cloud looping service. Before going live, confirm YouTube access, test the complete stream, and clear the rights to every poem, performance, translation, recording, and music track.
Choose how the poetry will play
The basic setup sends prerecorded material through an encoder to YouTube Live. You can create the loop on a computer, use a cloud service, or use dedicated hardware. YouTube lists OBS Studio, Gyre, Upstream, and AJA HELO Plus among verified encoder options; that listing does not mean YouTube makes or endorses those products.

| StreamNeo | Always-on YouTube playback without leaving a computer running. | Cloud service with a per-slot price; it plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed. |
| OBS on a computer | Flexible, no-charge production with control over scenes, artwork, titles, and audio. | The computer and connection must stay reliable; you manage the loop and monitoring. OBS describes its software as free and open source. |
| Other cloud looping services, such as Gyre or Upstream | Continuous or scheduled playback while your computer is off. | Check current pricing, storage, regional terms, playlist behavior, and continuity; test the service’s access to your media and YouTube account. |
| AJA HELO Plus hardware | A specialized standalone encoder workflow. | Dedicated equipment is not required for a basic stream. AJA listed a US MSRP of $2,101 when accessed on October 3, 2026; confirm current pricing and whether optional PlayToStream features require an upgrade. |
The right choice depends on whether you need scene controls, want to keep a computer off, or need dedicated hardware. If you choose a cloud service, test the actual playlist and stream before relying on it.

Check YouTube access and clear the material
Activate live streaming ahead of time
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so confirm access before scheduling a launch. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.

Clear each part of the recording
Do not assume a poem is free to broadcast because it is old, traditional, or posted online. Rights can differ for the text, translation, performance, recording, accompanying music, and territories where the stream is available. Obtain applicable permissions and keep records. YouTube’s Terms of Service require you to have the rights needed to exploit the content, including music and public-performance rights where applicable.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can cause a placeholder, interruption, or termination. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to prevent interruptions. An archived stream may also receive a Content ID claim after it ends; see YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance.
Prepare a watchable poetry stream
Build the video or visual
You can stream a video recording directly, or pair audio with a static image or designed visual. Make Urdu script readable on a phone and avoid placing decorative elements over the voice’s subtitles or other essential text. Consider including the poet’s name, translator credits where relevant, and a concise title card. Verify spelling, pronunciation, and translation before publishing. These are editorial choices, not YouTube requirements.

- Install OBS Studio from the OBS website, then create a scene for the stream.
- Add the recording as a media source. For a video file, enable its loop option so playback restarts when it reaches the end. For audio with a visual, add the audio file and an image or other visual source, then configure the audio to repeat. OBS’s exact labels can vary by version, so check the current controls in your installed version.
- Arrange and preview the scene. Confirm the visual is legible at the intended resolution and that the audio meter responds during playback.
- For a playlist, add the items in the intended order and verify that playback reaches each item and returns to the beginning. A scene that works once is not proof that a long loop will remain continuous.
Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule an encoder stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown by YouTube into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the connection process.
- Set your output to a resolution and bitrate your upload connection can sustain. For H.264, YouTube currently recommends 8 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps and 14 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. These are platform recommendations, not guarantees that a particular connection will work.
- Use constant bitrate (CBR), test your upload connection, and monitor stream health. YouTube recommends RTMPS, an encrypted extension of RTMP.
- For stereo audio, YouTube recommends a 44.1 kHz sample rate and 128 kbps audio bitrate.
- Start the encoder and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Check that the picture, Urdu text, and audio are correct before starting or making the broadcast public.
These figures come from YouTube’s current encoder settings recommendations; the help page does not state a publication year. Start with a stable setting, then test using the actual recording and visual.

Test continuity, monitor, and plan for the archive
Before announcing the stream, run a representative test long enough to check the audio, motion, playlist transitions, and loop restart. Confirm the watch page loads and inspect it on a phone as well as on the production computer. During the broadcast, monitor stream health and audio/video quality; YouTube’s live-streaming tips cover preview and encoder checks.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its setup guidance does not guarantee automatic archiving for longer sessions. If you need an archive, schedule separate sessions shorter than 12 hours and check the current Live Control Room controls rather than assuming a longer stream will be saved.

Understand the monetization limits
A continuous loop does not guarantee monetization or higher earnings. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams: monetized content should be original and authentic, and repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible. Reused-content eligibility is separate from copyright permission, so having a license alone does not ensure monetization. YouTube evaluates a channel as a whole and says, “What’s important is that the substance of each video should be materially varied and deliver creative, educational, or other value.” See the current channel monetization policies.
Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Verify the channel and check for a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is the channel’s first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder: Check that the stream URL and key were copied into the correct fields, that the key has not been changed, and that the encoder is actually sending. Keep the key private.
- The stream buffers or health is poor: Test the upload connection, use CBR, and lower resolution or bitrate to a setting the connection can sustain. Check the encoder and YouTube stream-health indicators.
- The loop stops at the end of a file: Recheck the media source’s loop setting or playlist sequence. Test the full sequence, including the transition back to its first item.
- Audio is missing or too quiet: Confirm the correct source is active, watch the OBS audio meter during playback, and check the encoder’s audio output settings. Test the same representative file before going live.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast: Check for a copyright match or restriction in Live Control Room. Confirm your permissions cover the specific content and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where appropriate.
- The stream is not archived: Check the session length and current YouTube controls. Automatic archiving is stated for streams under 12 hours, not guaranteed for longer sessions.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer or home connection left on. Each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; YouTube-drop recovery is automatic. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
