The critical step is clearing every music track for live use. “Royalty-free” alone does not guarantee that a track is licensed for livestreams, every territory, monetization, or an archived replay—and YouTube may interrupt a live broadcast after a Content ID match.
Before you start: check YouTube livestream eligibility
YouTube currently requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restriction in the previous 90 days. It also says livestream creators must be at least 16 years old. Check YouTube’s current livestreaming eligibility and setup guidance before building the playlist; eligibility rules can change.

Prepare the videos and playlist in Gyre
- Choose the prerecorded videos. Decide what the stream is about and use material you have permission to broadcast. Gyre recommends keeping playlist videos on one topic; that is Gyre’s recommendation, not a YouTube requirement.
- Upload the files to Gyre. Gyre’s documented workflow stores uploaded videos in its service. Check its current interface and file requirements before uploading, because those details can change.
- Arrange the playlist. Put the videos in the desired order. Gyre says a playlist repeats after it reaches the end, allowing the sequence to play again.
Gyre describes its service as cloud-hosted, so your own computer does not have to remain on to keep the stream running. YouTube also lists Gyre among cloud-based options for continuous streams of prerecorded video in its encoder setup guidance. These are vendor and platform descriptions, not a guarantee against service interruptions.

Connect YouTube and start or schedule the stream
- Connect your YouTube channel in Gyre. Follow the current connection flow in Gyre. Avoid relying on older button names or screenshots; interfaces may change.
- Choose the playlist and configure the stream. Select the playlist you prepared and set the stream to launch now or on a schedule, using the current Gyre controls.
- Preview and check the broadcast in YouTube. Use YouTube’s encoder and stream-monitoring guidance to confirm that the incoming stream is behaving as expected before treating it as a continuous broadcast.
A scheduled or looping stream is not a promise of uninterrupted uptime. YouTube enforcement, technical problems, or a rights dispute can interrupt or end a broadcast.

Clear every music track for livestream use
YouTube makes the livestream provider responsible for obtaining the necessary rights to music in live content. Its Livestream Terms and Conditions say the provider must have the rights needed to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other rights participants.
Before using a track, check the license itself—not just the catalog label. Confirm that it expressly covers:

- Live broadcasting on YouTube, rather than prerecorded videos only.
- Every territory where you expect the stream to be available.
- Commercial use or monetization, if applicable.
- Any required attribution or credit.
- The archived replay or recording, if you keep the livestream available afterward.
- Content ID handling, including whether the rights holder can add your channel to its allowlist.
Keep the license, receipt, track title, artist, and any permission correspondence. A “free” or “royalty-free” description does not by itself establish that live use is permitted.
Where to look for music
YouTube recommends its Audio Library as a source of royalty-free music and sound effects. Read the terms for each track and follow any attribution requirements; do not assume that every track has identical conditions.
Do not treat Creator Music as a substitute for a livestream license. YouTube’s cited Creator Music usage guidance says its tracks are for long-form videos, not livestreams or Shorts. For other music catalogs, verify the license with the provider for the particular track you plan to use.
Understand Content ID interruptions
YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content. A detected match can cause the live player to be replaced with a placeholder, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. Having a license does not necessarily prevent an automated match.
Rank #4
If you have licensed the music, YouTube advises asking the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Get confirmation before relying on the track in a continuous broadcast. See YouTube’s livestream copyright guidance for the current explanation of matches and allowlisting.
Troubleshooting common problems
- You cannot enable livestreaming: check that the channel is verified, has no livestream restriction from the previous 90 days, and meets YouTube’s current age requirement.
- The stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder: check YouTube’s live copyright notices for a Content ID match. Resolve the claim with the rights holder; if the track is licensed, ask whether the channel can be allowlisted.
- A licensed track still triggers a match: a license and Content ID allowlisting are separate issues. Contact the rights holder with the channel details and license evidence, and do not assume the match will clear automatically.
- The playlist is not repeating as expected: review its order and current Gyre playlist settings, then check Gyre’s current support material. Product controls and behavior can change.
- The broadcast stops for a reason unrelated to music: review YouTube’s stream status and Gyre’s service status or support guidance. A cloud workflow removes the need to keep a home computer running, but it cannot guarantee that platforms or services will never fail.
