You can broadcast recorded spoken English classes as a YouTube livestream by sending a playlist from an encoder to a stream you create in YouTube Studio. For a 24/7 channel, plan the stream as monitored sessions rather than assuming one uninterrupted event will create a complete archive: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but its setup guidance does not promise a complete archive for a 24-hour broadcast or guarantee continuous uptime.
What you need before starting
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled, no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and an account holder who meets YouTube’s minimum age requirement of 16. Check current eligibility and activation instructions in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- An encoder that can play your recorded class files or playlist and send the output to YouTube. YouTube’s encoder workflow supports production setups with audio equipment such as microphones and preamps; a microphone is only needed if you are recording or improving lessons, not to rebroadcast existing recordings.
- Video and audio files you have the rights to stream, plus an operating plan for monitoring, interruptions and session restarts.
Set up a recorded-class livestream
- Enable and check live streaming. In YouTube Studio, confirm that livestreaming is available for your channel. Complete verification or any activation step YouTube displays, and resolve any channel restrictions before planning a launch.
- Create or schedule the event. Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to enter the Live Control Room. Create a stream or schedule one, choose its visibility and enter a clear title and description. YouTube supports scheduling and reusing stream settings; check the event details before each session so the audience sees the right information.
- Copy the connection details. In the Live Control Room, copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your channel. Do not publish it or include it in a class recording.
- Load the lessons in the encoder. Add the recorded class or playlist as the encoder’s media source. Arrange lessons in an order that makes sense for learners joining at different times, and check that the playlist will continue or repeat as you intend. The exact playlist controls depend on the encoder you choose.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Send the feed to YouTube, then check the Live Control Room preview before starting the public event. Confirm that the picture appears, spoken audio is audible and synchronized, and the correct lesson is playing. YouTube recommends setting up ahead of time, checking the preview and monitoring audio and video while live; see YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
- Start and monitor the event. Begin the livestream from the encoder and, where prompted, start the event in the Live Control Room. Keep an eye on both the encoder and YouTube’s stream status. A successful preview is a useful check, not a guarantee that a 24/7 setup will remain uninterrupted.
Plan sessions, archives and continuity
YouTube’s encoder setup guidance states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That is the documented boundary: do not assume a single 24-hour broadcast will be saved as one complete replay. Decide whether your priority is a manageable replay, viewer continuity, or fewer operator restarts, then test the session plan on your own channel.

Neither pattern is a YouTube-guaranteed 24/7 uptime method. Reliability depends on the encoder, network, power and restart strategy you select. Run a test stream and validate the entire handoff, including how you will recover if YouTube or the encoder drops the connection.

Check rights and monetization before looping lessons
Use material you are entitled to stream
If the spoken English lessons are your own recordings, retain source files or other production records that help demonstrate authorship. Check every lesson for third-party material, including music, clips, illustrations, textbook pages and examples, and obtain the rights needed for both the live broadcast and any archive. YouTube’s livestream terms make the provider responsible for necessary rights and compliance with applicable laws; see YouTube’s Terms of Service. Originality matters for monetization
YouTube applies its channel monetization policies to livestreams as well as other videos. Reused material with little original commentary, substantive change or educational or entertainment value can put monetization at risk. YouTube says, “This policy applies even if you have permission from the original creator.” It also treats repetitive or mass-produced material as “inauthentic content”; the policy wording was updated on July 15, 2025, to clarify that coverage. Make your teaching authorship and educational value clear, and avoid presenting a small set of repeated recordings as fresh live instruction. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies for the current rules.
Do not count on a particular revenue outcome
For channels that qualify, YouTube lists ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships as possible live monetization features. YouTube also says ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Troubleshoot common setup problems
- The channel cannot go live: Check verification, whether livestreaming activation is complete, the minimum age requirement, and any live-streaming restrictions within the last 90 days.
- YouTube receives no feed: Recheck that the encoder has the correct server URL and stream key for the intended event, then confirm the encoder is actually sending. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The preview is black or the wrong lesson is playing: Confirm the encoder’s media source and playlist order, then restart the feed and inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting the event.
- Audio is missing or unclear: Check the selected audio source and playback level in the encoder, and verify sound in the YouTube preview. If you are creating or refreshing spoken lessons, a suitable microphone can improve the recording; it is not required for streaming finished recordings.
- The stream stops or viewers lose access: Check power, network and encoder status, then follow your tested restart procedure. YouTube’s cited guidance does not guarantee automatic recovery or a universally best failover setup.
- The replay is incomplete or absent: Check the event duration against YouTube’s documented automatic-archive behavior for streams under 12 hours. Do not assume a 24-hour event will produce a complete single replay.
