You can keep Minecraft survival episodes live on YouTube by sending gameplay from an encoder to a YouTube broadcast—but a true 24/7 stream also depends on the game, computer, internet connection, and a tested recovery plan staying available. YouTube documents how to connect an encoder; it does not provide a guaranteed unattended Minecraft launch-and-restart setup. Plan for interruptions rather than promising zero downtime.
What a 24/7 Minecraft stream needs
YouTube’s encoder workflow is designed for sharing a screen or broadcasting gameplay. The encoder sends the video to YouTube using a server URL and stream key. For a continuously running Minecraft stream, the game session and the equipment and connection feeding the encoder must also keep working. That is a practical operating requirement, not a YouTube guarantee. YouTube’s encoder guide explains the platform connection.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- A YouTube channel eligible to live stream.
- Minecraft running with the survival world and gameplay you intend to show.
- An encoder configured with YouTube’s stream URL and stream key.
- A computer and internet connection that can remain available, plus a plan to notice and recover from failures.
- A content and audio plan that respects Minecraft’s usage terms and YouTube’s copyright rules.
The official sources do not establish a tested Minecraft-specific unattended configuration, recommended bitrate, hardware specification, or bandwidth figure. Choose settings that fit your encoder, computer, and connection, then test them before announcing a continuous broadcast.
How do I prepare my YouTube channel?
- Verify the channel and check live access. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. YouTube also states a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. See Get started with live streaming and Avoid restrictions on YouTube live streaming.
- Allow time for first-time activation. YouTube says enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours. This is not a guarantee that every channel will be approved or eligible.
- Decide how viewers will find the stream. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create a stream or schedule one. A scheduled stream can have a watch page that you can promote before it starts. Controls can vary as YouTube updates its interface; follow the live workflow shown in your account. See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
How do I connect Minecraft gameplay to YouTube?
- Start Minecraft and prepare the survival session. Load the world and confirm what viewers will see. Decide whether you will add live narration or stream gameplay without commentary. If you plan to narrate, a microphone is optional; YouTube notes that equipment depends on the stream.
- Open YouTube Studio and the Live Control Room. Create a live stream or select the scheduled broadcast you prepared. Use YouTube’s encoder workflow for screen or gameplay broadcasting.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube. In your encoder’s stream settings, enter the server URL and key supplied by YouTube. Treat the key like a credential: do not show it on stream or share it publicly. This is practical account-security guidance because the key connects the encoder to your broadcast.
- Set up the encoder and check its preview. Select the Minecraft gameplay source and your chosen video and audio settings. The official material cited here does not specify a universal resolution, bitrate, keyframe interval, or PC requirement for this particular setup. Make settings appropriate to your encoder and available connection rather than relying on an unsupported one-size-fits-all figure.
- Start the encoder and confirm the broadcast in Live Control Room. Wait for YouTube to receive the encoder signal and check the preview where available. Then use the live workflow in YouTube Studio to start the broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder instructions.
- Monitor the full chain. Check that Minecraft continues to run, the encoder is sending video, and the broadcast remains live. Test what happens if the game, computer, or connection stops before you rely on the setup for long sessions.
How can I keep the stream running and handle archives?
Continuity and recording are separate design decisions. YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a single 24-hour session will automatically produce one complete archive. If retaining a recording matters, plan session boundaries with that limit in mind and confirm the resulting archive in your channel.

YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes broadcasts and stream resources separately, including a 24/7 broadcast setup using a distinct stream resource for each broadcast. This is developer documentation, not a beginner restart recipe; it does not establish a click-by-click Minecraft watchdog or guarantee automatic recovery. See Understanding Broadcasts and Streams.
For a practical setup, choose between planned broadcast sessions and a more technical API-driven design only after considering archive needs and recovery complexity. Test disconnections and reconnections before promising uninterrupted service. YouTube’s cited documentation does not specify a Minecraft-specific relauncher, watchdog, or guaranteed reconnection behavior.

How do I avoid copyright interruptions?
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can lead to a placeholder, a warning, or interruption or termination if it persists. Copyright handling for an archived recording is a separate process. If you have a license for third-party content, YouTube says the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID; otherwise the live stream can still be interrupted. Read Copyright issues with live streams.
Keep Minecraft-owned music separate from music licensed by someone else. Minecraft says approved Minecraft-owned music may be used in non-commercial content and in qualifying commercial content that meets its Usage Guidelines. Other licensed music generally requires permission from its rightsholder. Do not assume a track is cleared just because it is commonly used in gaming videos. See Using Minecraft Music in Videos and Streams.

Can I monetize a Minecraft survival livestream?
Minecraft’s Usage Guidelines allow gameplay videos and streams, including ad revenue under the stated conditions: the content must be free to view and contain enough unique creator contribution. Commentary is one example. A logo, web address, or overlay by itself may not be enough, and the guidelines prohibit certain uses of gameplay to advertise unrelated products or services. YouTube separately says live-stream monetization is available to creators in the YouTube Partner Program. Neither fact means that a 24/7 stream automatically qualifies or that unattended raw gameplay meets Minecraft’s originality condition. Check Minecraft’s Usage Guidelines and YouTube’s encoder and live-stream guidance.
