You can broadcast a temple bhajan playlist around the clock by sending an encoder feed to YouTube’s Live Control Room, but a continuous stream is not a set-and-forget guarantee. First confirm the channel can livestream and clear the rights for both the recordings and compositions. Then configure and test the feed, arrange monitoring and recovery, and plan how to handle sessions and archives.
1. Confirm the channel is eligible to livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no livestream restriction in the preceding 90 days. If the channel has never livestreamed before, enablement may take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and its encoder setup instructions. Check eligibility early rather than discovering a delay on the planned broadcast day.

2. Clear rights for every bhajan recording
Do this before preparing the stream. A bhajan playlist can involve separate rights in the sound recording and the underlying composition. Identify the relevant rights holders and obtain permission for the intended livestream and territories. Whether a particular temple needs particular local licenses depends on its location and the actual playlist; YouTube’s general guidance does not determine that question.
Devotional or traditional does not automatically mean free to stream
Do not assume a recording or composition is free to broadcast because it is devotional, traditional, or performed in a religious setting. YouTube’s livestream terms make the streamer responsible for the necessary rights, including music rights from artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants. The terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Read the YouTube Terms of Service and resolve permissions for the actual repertoire before going live.

Allowlisting may matter even when you have a license
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the content remains, it may interrupt or terminate the stream. A rights owner may need to add the licensed channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license by itself may not prevent an automated interruption. See YouTube’s guidance on live-streaming restrictions and ask the relevant rights holder about allowlisting.
YouTube Creator Music revenue-sharing track rules exclude live streams, so those tracks are not a ready-made licensing route for this broadcast. See Creator Music usage rules.

3. Create the stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and enter the Live Control Room.
- Create or schedule a stream and choose its settings, including the title, visibility and stream configuration.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in the encoder setup. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room before broadcasting again.
- Enter the URL and key in your chosen encoder. YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders; consult its encoder setup guide for the current Studio flow.
4. Choose and configure an encoder
A software encoder can work for a static image or other simple visual paired with audio. A standalone hardware encoder is an option if you want a dedicated device. YouTube supports both categories but does not require specific hardware or identify a universally best model.
Choose based on who will set it up and recover it: check compatibility with your video and audio path, how easily it can be restarted after an interruption, the local power and network arrangements, and whether someone can monitor it. The available guidance does not establish a cost or continuous-duty reliability comparison between particular devices.

Use YouTube’s encoder settings as a starting point
- Protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS for RTMP streaming.
- Bitrate mode: Use constant bitrate encoding.
- Keyframes: Set a 2-second keyframe interval; YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds.
- Audio: Use AAC or MP3.
- Video bitrate: YouTube’s example for 720p at 30 fps lists 2 Mbps as the recommended video bitrate and 6 Mbps as the maximum. Consult its current encoder settings, bitrate and resolution guidance for other resolutions and frame rates.
Pick a resolution that your measured upload capacity can sustain, leave bandwidth headroom, and test the actual feed. A nominal internet plan speed does not by itself show that the connection can maintain the outgoing stream continuously.

- Measure upload capacity. Test the connection at the location and time the encoder will be used. Leave room above the selected video bitrate for audio and network variation; YouTube advises measuring upload bandwidth and not using all available capacity.
- Send a test feed. Confirm that Live Control Room receives it and check the preview for picture, audio level, synchronization and unwanted gaps.
- Check the viewer experience. Open the watch page and verify that the intended audience can access the stream with the selected visibility setting.
- Test recovery. Practice restarting the encoder and restoring its connection. Decide who will respond if the feed stops or YouTube reports a stream-health problem.
- Monitor during operation. Keep an operator or a tested alert-and-recovery arrangement available. YouTube warns that network disruption can break a stream; this is a practical need for oversight, not a promise of uninterrupted service.

6. Plan 24/7 sessions and archives separately
YouTube’s cited encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that a single uninterrupted 24-hour stream will be archived in full. Before choosing how to divide an around-the-clock broadcast into sessions, check the current controls and behavior in YouTube Studio. If retaining a complete record matters, plan a separate local recording or archive workflow rather than relying on one long stream’s automatic archive.
