First verify that your channel can livestream, secure the rights to every recording and visual, and test the feed. Plan for restarts and a local archive: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has had no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance explains eligibility and setup options: YouTube live streaming tips.
- An encoder—a software encoder on a suitable computer or a hardware encoder—to send your audio and visuals to YouTube. An encoder is appropriate for a continuous designed feed with a fixed image, graphics, or other visuals.
- A recording and visual assets that you created or have permission to livestream and archive.
- A reliable upload connection, tested on the network and equipment you will actually use.
YouTube does not prescribe one required encoder model or computer for this setup. Choose equipment for your production design and how much local continuity you need; optional backup power can help keep locally operated equipment and networking running during a power interruption, but it is not a YouTube requirement.

Choose and clear the mantra recording
There is no single Lakshmi mantra text, pronunciation, translation, or recording established here as the authoritative version. Select the specific text and performance you intend to use, and check a suitable primary or rights-holder source before presenting it as authoritative. Do not assume that a traditional mantra makes every recording, arrangement, translation, or accompanying image free to use.

YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for necessary rights on the creator, including music licensing rights: Livestream terms and conditions. Keep permission and license records for the actual audio and visuals, including any looping image or video. Confirm that the permission covers the intended use and territories; the status of a particular work cannot be determined without checking its rights holder and circumstances.

Configure the encoder and YouTube stream
- Enable live streaming and select an encoder. In YouTube Studio, open the live-stream setup and choose the encoder workflow. Follow the current prompts for channel eligibility and activation. YouTube’s setup guide is Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Create the stream in Live Control Room. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown there into the matching fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or include it in a screenshot. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube’s controls and update the encoder.
- Set the video and audio source. Load the cleared mantra recording and visuals. If the encoder offers looping, configure it to repeat the prepared material; verify that the transition back to the beginning does not create a long silence, black frame, or abrupt unwanted change. The exact loop controls depend on the encoder you choose.
- Choose a supported output. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension of RTMP. Its encoder settings guidance supports H.264, H.265, or AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS, up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), and a 2-second keyframe interval (not over 4 seconds). Recommendations vary by codec, resolution, and frame rate; consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
Example H.264 bitrate recommendations
These are YouTube-recommended video bitrates, not guaranteed internet-speed requirements. Use the relevant value for your chosen resolution and frame rate, and check YouTube’s current table for other combinations.

Resolution alone does not determine the right settings: use the encoder’s available codec and frame-rate options, then check YouTube’s recommendation for that specific combination. For audio, select a stable output supported by your encoder and confirm it is audible in the preview before going live.

Test the stream before leaving it unattended
- Run a test with the actual mantra audio, visual assets, encoder, and network you plan to use. Check that the audio is neither silent nor distorted and that the picture moves or changes as intended.
- Review the Live Control Room preview and stream-health indicators before the public broadcast. Confirm that the watch page opens and presents the expected content.
- Measure upload speed on the actual connection, not by relying on download speed. YouTube recommends leaving about 20% upload headroom; account for other network traffic and, if applicable, the combined bitrate of primary and backup streams. See YouTube streaming tips.
- Watch a representative period of the loop, including its transition back to the beginning. If you are making a local recording, check that file separately so an encoder or storage issue does not go unnoticed.
- Before relying on the setup, decide who or what will detect a dropped feed and how it will be restarted. YouTube notes that network disruption can break a stream; a preflight test cannot guarantee that a long-running connection will remain stable.
Plan for a 24/7 broadcast and its archive
A continuous presentation and a reliably saved YouTube archive are separate goals. YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived. A single 24-hour broadcast therefore is not a dependable way to create a complete replay. See YouTube’s archive live streams guidance.
If you need an archive, make a local recording as a separate safeguard and verify that it is actually being saved. YouTube also recommends keeping a local archive as backup. If you divide the presentation into shorter scheduled segments or restart it, treat that as an operational design choice: the exact schedule and implementation depend on your encoder and workflow, and each segment still needs monitoring.

For continuity, plan for a connection interruption, power loss, encoder failure, or a stream stopped by YouTube. Assign a person to monitor it or use a setup with a recovery process, and decide how the broadcast will be restored. Do not treat a test or a successful start as proof that a stream will run unattended indefinitely.
Copyright interruptions and other common problems
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder image; if the content remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even licensed content can be interrupted when the channel has not been added to the rights holder’s Content ID allowlist. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
