Before going live, verify your channel, secure rights for every recording and composition, and coordinate with rights owners to reduce the risk of Content ID interruptions. A continuous stream is a workflow you operate and maintain—not a set-and-forget promise.
What a 24/7 meditation music channel involves
The format is a live YouTube broadcast carrying a prepared music program, usually paired with visuals you own or have permission to use. An encoder sends the audio and video to YouTube. For a continuous program, that means keeping the playback source, encoder, and internet connection running—or using a cloud service that plays uploaded videos to YouTube.

YouTube documents encoder-based live streaming, but it does not prescribe a distinct 24/7 radio feature. Streaming permission also does not guarantee monetization, uninterrupted playback, or a particular audience.
Check channel eligibility before preparing the broadcast
- Your channel must be verified and must not have a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- YouTube’s current live-stream guidance requires streamers to be at least 16 years old.
- An encoder is a suitable workflow for a prepared, continuous audio-and-visual program. YouTube does not specify a particular computer or minimum hardware configuration in the guidance cited here.
In YouTube Studio, confirm that live streaming is available for the channel before you build a long playlist or schedule a launch. If access is unavailable, resolve the channel’s eligibility or restriction issue first.

Clear the music rights before building a playlist
For every recording and composition, get written confirmation that your intended use is covered. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the provider to hold necessary worldwide rights, including music rights from artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants, and to maintain applicable permissions and approvals. That can involve different rights holders for a recording and the underlying composition.
- Confirm the territories covered and that the grant allows live streaming on YouTube.
- If you plan to keep a replay, confirm that the archive or replay use is covered too.
- Confirm monetization rights if you intend to monetize the stream.
- Ask how public-performance and other applicable music rights are handled.
- Get clear instructions on Content ID claims and whether the channel can be allowlisted.
Buying a track, crediting its artist, or seeing “royalty-free” on a listing does not by itself establish that these uses are permitted. YouTube’s tips to find safe music explain why permission and license terms matter.
Rank #2
The YouTube guidance cited here does not settle which India-specific statutory licenses, collecting-society permissions, registrations, or other clearances apply to a particular channel and repertoire. Before launch, ask the relevant rights holders or qualified India-specific counsel to confirm the requirements and documentation for your planned use. Do not assume a global platform permission answers that jurisdiction-specific question.
Choose a music source that fits the rights and originality work
| Source | Advantages | What to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| Original or commissioned music | Lets you shape the sound and gives you more control over the channel’s originality. | Get a written grant covering composers, performers and other rights participants, and specify territory, live use, archive, monetization and Content ID handling. Production or commissioning work is required. |
| Third-party licensed catalog | Can provide recordings ready to program into a playlist. | Check that the contract expressly allows YouTube live and archive use, and ask whether the rights owner will allowlist your channel in Content ID. A “royalty-free” label alone is not enough. |
Do not choose on the label alone. Compare the written rights scope, Content ID support, originality considerations and the ongoing work needed to maintain the program.

Reduce the chance of Content ID interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, the stream can be interrupted. A license does not necessarily prevent that: YouTube says a licensed stream may still be interrupted if the channel has not been added to the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist.
- Before the first broadcast, ask each relevant rights owner to allowlist your YouTube channel where applicable.
- Keep written records of licenses, permissions, covered territories, archive rights and allowlist arrangements.
- If the live feed is interrupted, check YouTube Studio for the warning or strike and follow the indicated resolution process.
- If you keep an archive, check it after the live stream ends; archived live content can receive Content ID claims later.
Build a channel that is meaningfully original
Copyright permission and monetization eligibility are separate questions. YouTube reviews monetization at the channel level and considers whether content is original and authentic. Its monetization policy identifies collections of songs from different artists, minimal edits, and repetitive or mass-produced material as examples that may not be eligible.

- Shrink-wrapped
Where it fits the channel, use creator-produced or commissioned music, original arrangements, meaningful programming, narration or context, and channel-owned visuals. These choices can make the channel more distinctive, but no single addition guarantees acceptance into monetization. Review the current YouTube channel monetization policies independently of your music clearance.

- Prepare the program. Assemble music you made or have properly licensed, along with visuals you own or have permission to use. Decide whether the broadcast will be archived and confirm the associated rights before enabling a replay.
- Confirm channel access. Verify that live streaming is available and that the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility requirements.
- Open YouTube Studio’s live control room. Create a live stream and choose the encoder option. Use the stream key provided by YouTube in your encoder; treat it as a credential and do not share it publicly.
- Configure the encoder. Select the prepared audio and visual sources, then use the stream settings and connection details shown by YouTube for that broadcast. The sources cited here do not establish a universal bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval or encoder preset for every channel, so do not assume a single setting is required for all setups.
- Check the preview before starting. Confirm that audio is audible and clean, visuals are correct, and the stream appears as expected in YouTube’s live control room. Keep an eye on Studio for copyright warnings or connection problems.
- Maintain the broadcast. A computer-based encoder workflow depends on the playback source, encoder and network continuing to work. Monitor the stream and be ready to respond if YouTube or the equipment interrupts it.
Understand monetization limits
If the channel qualifies and monetization is enabled, YouTube offers live-stream ad features and other monetization features. However, ad slots are not guaranteed to serve, so continuous streaming is not a dependable earnings forecast. See YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance for the applicable features and conditions.
