You can build a continuous Hindi music broadcast with OBS by loading rights-cleared tracks into its VLC Video source, adding a text source with OBS’s Scroll Filter, and sending the scene to YouTube Live Control Room. A 24/7 schedule is an intended format, not a guarantee of uninterrupted uptime: rights checks, power, the computer, network, encoder, media source, or YouTube can interrupt a stream.
Clear the music rights before building the stream
Make an inventory of every recording and composition you plan to play, then confirm permission from the relevant rights holders for public live streaming on YouTube. Check that permission also covers the territories you intend to reach, monetization if planned, and any saved or archived version of the broadcast. Rights can differ between a sound recording and the underlying composition.

- A local file, a credit in the description, or a consumer music subscription does not establish that you have live-streaming rights.
- If a label or distributor controls the music, ask whether your channel needs to be allowlisted in Content ID before you go live. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with the label or distributor when using copyright-protected music: YouTube for Artists.
- Do not display lyrics unless you have separate permission for lyrics display. Make sure displayed titles and artist names match the tracks actually playing.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. It may replace the video with a placeholder, warn you to stop using the material, interrupt or terminate the stream, or take further action after a strike. Archived live streams may receive Content ID claims after the broadcast ends. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams. If a track’s rights are unclear, ask the relevant owner or a qualified adviser rather than assuming it is safe.
Enable YouTube Live and create the broadcast
- In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and complete channel verification if required. YouTube’s eligibility guidance says a channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days; its current general guide says live streamers must be at least 16. Check the latest requirements in YouTube Help.
- If this is your first live broadcast, enable streaming ahead of time. YouTube for Artists advises doing so at least 24 hours before the planned stream.
- Choose the encoder workflow for OBS, then create or schedule the stream in Live Control Room. Use the current Studio controls for title, description, audience, privacy, and stream settings; interface labels can change.
- Describe the broadcast accurately. Call it a continuous Hindi music stream only if the selected repertoire and presentation support that description.
Build an OBS scene and load a playlist
- Install OBS and VLC. OBS’s VLC Video source requires VLC; if you use 64-bit OBS, install a matching 64-bit VLC build. See the OBS media sources documentation.
- Create a scene. Add a background image or video only if you have permission to use it.
- Add a VLC Video source and load the authorized local audio or video files as a playlist. Check that each file plays and that the metadata and order are as intended.
- Choose the playback behavior. Loop Playlist starts the list again after it ends; Shuffle Playlist randomizes playback. OBS documents loop on and shuffle off as defaults. Use a fixed order if the on-screen list should match a planned sequence; shuffle offers less predictable repeats but makes a prewritten ordered list inaccurate.
Add a scrolling song list
- Add an OBS text source. Enter a newline-separated list directly, or enable reading from a text file if you prefer to maintain the wording outside OBS.
- Position and size the text in the scene. Choose a font that supports the Hindi characters you need, and use sufficient contrast, outline, or background so viewers can read it on both phones and larger screens.
- Apply the Scroll Filter to the text source. Set horizontal or vertical speed and, where needed, crop dimensions. The filter’s Loop option controls whether the source repeats after moving off-screen. OBS documents the available controls in its Scroll Filter guide and sources guide.
A static text file does not know which VLC playlist item is currently playing, so it will not automatically update a “now playing” label. For playback-linked text, the optional community plugin Tuna documents a route to read supported source metadata, including VLC, and write formatted text files that OBS text sources can read: Tuna on the OBS Forums. Metadata depends on the source and correctly tagged files. Check plugin availability and compatibility with your OBS version and platform before relying on it for a long broadcast.

Connect OBS, rehearse, and check stream health
- Connect OBS to YouTube using the current account integration or the stream settings supplied by Live Control Room. Treat stream keys as credentials: do not show them in a recording or share them publicly.
- Before a public launch, run a private or unlisted rehearsal using music cleared for that use. Confirm the YouTube preview appears, audio continues without gaps, the list is legible on a phone and desktop, and the scene behaves as expected at the end of the playlist.
- Check YouTube’s stream-health indicators and keep OBS visible during the rehearsal. OBS says increasing dropped frames and a yellow or red connection indicator can point to an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain. Reduce bitrate or resolution as appropriate, following OBS’s configuration guidance for your actual machine and connection: OBS dropped-frames guidance.
- During a scheduled continuous broadcast, monitor the encoder, connection, audio source, and YouTube status. Decide how you will respond if a track stops, the connection drops, or YouTube interrupts the stream; no reviewed source guarantees 24/7 uptime.
Choose horizontal or vertical presentation deliberately
YouTube’s current live-stream guide describes both horizontal and vertical formats. Its comparison lists live ad pre-rolls and mid-rolls for horizontal streams, while vertical streams can appear in the Shorts feed and have a scrollable live-stream feed; the guide also distinguishes clickable links by format. Check current Studio controls and eligibility before building a plan around a specific feature: YouTube’s guide to vertical live streams.
YouTube for Artists says creators may use shopping features, Supers, and ads on live streams subject to access and eligibility. It reported that “over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025.” That is a dated, platform-wide figure—not a forecast of viewers or revenue for a Hindi music channel. See YouTube for Artists.
