You can make a Hindi music livestream from tracks stored in Google Drive, but the files must be available to the playback source as local files; OBS or VLC then sends their audio to YouTube through a live encoder. The dependable DIY setup is: clear the music rights, make the files available on the computer running the encoder, loop a file or playlist, connect OBS to YouTube Live, test the feed, and keep that computer and its internet connection running. YouTube may interrupt copyrighted music, and a broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be archived.
How the Google Drive-to-YouTube setup works
Google Drive stores the music; it is not itself the livestream encoder. YouTube receives a live audio/video feed from an encoder such as OBS. For the workflow below, the tracks must be accessible as local files to the computer running OBS. The available OBS documentation covers local media playback, but does not establish current Google Drive desktop sync or offline-availability steps. Those vary by operating system and Drive setup, so verify the current Google Drive for desktop instructions for your computer rather than assuming a share link will play in OBS.

- Google Drive: stores your source recordings.
- Your computer: makes the selected tracks available locally and runs OBS and the playlist.
- YouTube Live: receives the encoder feed using a stream URL and private stream key.
This is a genuine 24/7 DIY arrangement only while the computer, playback source, OBS and network continue operating. A playlist ending, computer sleep, lost connection or encoder failure can stop the feed.
Clear rights for every track before broadcasting
Having a song in Drive, owning a copy, giving credit, or describing it as “royalty-free” does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it live on YouTube. Confirm that you have the necessary public livestream rights for each track, the territories where viewers may watch, and the intended use and duration. YouTube for Artists also recommends coordinating with the label or distributor before using copyright-protected music: Going live for music channels.

YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. Depending on the match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt or terminate the broadcast, or apply a copyright strike. If you have licensed third-party music, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an automated interruption. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and how Content ID works.
Make the Drive tracks available to OBS
Use Google Drive’s current desktop workflow to make the files accessible on the computer that will run the broadcast, and confirm they remain accessible for the full session. Do not rely on an arbitrary Drive sharing URL as an OBS media file: the documented OBS workflow here is for local media, and direct playback from Drive links is not established. Before relying on synced or offline files, check the current Drive instructions for your operating system and test the exact files while signed in as the account that will run OBS.

- Choose a stable folder or set of files for the broadcast and avoid moving or renaming them while OBS is using them.
- Test access to the files after a restart and, if using an offline mode, with the network disconnected. Do this before the planned livestream, not during it.
- Keep the computer from sleeping and ensure its storage and network connection can sustain a long-running session.
Choose how to loop the music
Loop one recording with OBS Media Source
In OBS, add a Media Source to the scene and select one local audio file. Enable its Loop option to repeat that recording. OBS documents support for local formats including MP3, AAC, OGG and WAV. This method is straightforward for a single long mix or a station that intentionally repeats one file.

Loop a playlist with the VLC Video source
For multiple tracks, install VLC on the computer, then add OBS’s VLC Video source and create a playlist from the local files. Enable Loop Playlist. Choose ordered playback for a fixed sequence or shuffle if that is the intended listening experience. VLC must be installed for this OBS source. Check that track changes occur cleanly and that the source continues after the final playlist item. OBS describes both source options in its Media Sources documentation.

Enable YouTube Live and connect OBS
- Prepare the channel early. Verify the account and enable live streaming before launch. YouTube for Artists advises completing this at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast: Going live for music channels.
- Create or configure a live stream in YouTube Studio. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup flow in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube if available, or configure the service with the URL and key supplied by YouTube. Keep the key private: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Start streaming in OBS, then confirm YouTube’s Live Control Room receives the feed and displays a preview. Starting OBS sends the feed; use the YouTube control room to start the public broadcast.
- Test the actual station before announcing it. Check volume, track transitions, the end of the playlist, file availability, and whether the encoder recovers after a brief interruption. YouTube’s encoder and broadcast guidance explains stream setup and preview: YouTube Help.
YouTube’s live workflow uses an encoder feed, stream URL and key; the YouTube Live Streaming API documentation describes broadcast status and preview/testing concepts for API-managed broadcasts as well: YouTube Live Streaming API overview and Life of a Broadcast. For encoder transport details, see Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide.
Plan for a continuous broadcast and its replay
A stream intended to run 24/7 is longer than YouTube’s stated automatic archive window. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. The shorter duration is not a guarantee that every stream will archive successfully. If a complete replay matters, keep a separate local recording and consider ending and restarting planned broadcasts before they exceed the archive window; confirm YouTube’s current behavior before relying on any archive or DVR arrangement. See Archive live streams and Turn on DVR on live streams.

Compare the practical choices
| Approach | What it does | Main consideration |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Runs uploaded videos or playlists from the cloud to YouTube; upload, add the stream key, and go live. | Nothing at home has to stay on; any quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream and a free first day with no card. |
| OBS Media Source | Repeats one local recording with Loop enabled. | The local file, computer, OBS and internet connection must remain available. |

| One long YouTube broadcast | Keeps a single live session running across the day. | For streams over 12 hours, YouTube says an archive may not be captured. |
| Planned shorter broadcasts plus local recording | Splits transmission into separate sessions and preserves a separate recording. | Requires someone or a system to manage restarts and storage; verify current YouTube archive and DVR behavior. |
Troubleshooting a Hindi music livestream
OBS cannot find a track or playlist
Check that the file is actually available locally to the account and computer running OBS, and that its path has not changed. A Drive link is not a substitute for a local media path in the documented OBS workflow. Re-select the file or rebuild the playlist, then test playback before going live.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The source plays once and stops
For one file, confirm Loop is enabled on the Media Source. For a VLC playlist, confirm Loop Playlist is enabled and that VLC is installed. Test the transition from the final item back to the first.

YouTube does not show a preview
Confirm OBS is streaming to the stream URL and key currently shown for the intended YouTube broadcast, then check the connection and status in Live Control Room. If you regenerated the key, update OBS. Do not share the key publicly.
The stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder
A third-party-content match can cause warnings, interruption or termination even when you believe you have a license. Confirm the livestream rights and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting. Do not resume with the same disputed material until the rights issue is resolved.
The broadcast continues but the replay is missing or incomplete
A session over 12 hours may not be captured as an archive. Keep a separate local recording if replay matters and plan shorter broadcast sessions where a complete YouTube archive is required.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.
