To turn down the volume on an ASUS TUF Gaming monitor, open its on-screen display (OSD) and go to System Setup > Sound > Volume. Lower the value, or choose Mute for silence. ASUS manuals for the VG27AQ3A and VG27AQM1A document this menu and a 0–100 volume range; button layouts and available features vary by model.
Lower the volume in the monitor menu
- Use the monitor’s physical navigation control to open the OSD.
- Go to System Setup > Sound. The ASUS VG27AQ3A and VG27AQM1A manuals show this menu path: VG27AQ3A manual and VG27AQM1A manual.
- Select Volume and reduce the number. Both manuals document a 0–100 range.
- To stop the monitor’s audio instead of lowering it, select Mute.
Check the exact model before following button directions
The menu path above is confirmed for the VG27AQ3A and VG27AQM1A, but ASUS TUF Gaming monitors do not all have identical controls or features. Find the model number on the monitor’s label or in its documentation, then use that model’s manual for the physical button sequence and menu labels. ASUS’s support index notes that features vary by model: ASUS monitor support.

Make volume quicker to reach
If your monitor supports configurable shortcut buttons, you may be able to assign one to Volume. The VG27AQ3A and VG27AQM1A manuals list Volume as a shortcut option, but available assignments can depend on the model and active function. Check your manual’s shortcut instructions rather than assuming the option is available.

If the volume control does not work
- OSD controls seem locked: Check whether Key Lock is enabled. On the VG27AQ3A, ASUS says holding the navigation button down for more than five seconds cancels Key Lock. Button behavior can differ on other models, so follow the relevant manual.
- Changing the OSD value has little or no effect: Check the volume setting on the connected computer or console as well. The manuals document the monitor’s own volume setting, but do not establish that it is synchronized with a source device’s output level.
- No sound, noise, or abnormal audio: Consult the support information for your exact monitor model. ASUS’s support index includes a troubleshooting article updated April 7, 2026.
Confirm that your model has monitor audio
The VG27AQ3A manual lists built-in 2 W x 2 stereo speakers and an earphone jack. That specification applies to the VG27AQ3A; it is not evidence that every ASUS TUF Gaming monitor has built-in speakers or the same audio connections.
