To loop Punjabi Gurbani videos in a 24/7 YouTube Live stream, send a rights-cleared video feed to YouTube through an encoder such as OBS: loop one media file or repeat a playlist, connect the encoder with YouTube’s server URL and stream key, then check the Live Control Room preview and keep the stream monitored. A local setup runs only while its computer, files, power, encoder, and internet connection remain available. YouTube may not archive a broadcast longer than 12 hours, so plan a separate recording backup if you need a full replay.

Confirm YouTube Live access
Check that the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, and there are no live-streaming restrictions from the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable access well before you plan to go live. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements.

Get permission for every part of the broadcast
Make sure you have the rights to broadcast the actual Gurbani recordings, performances, and video you plan to use. Permission to possess a file or play it privately does not necessarily include permission for a public livestream, worldwide use, or an archived replay. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for required rights on the person providing the content, including music licensing rights.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the broadcast with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even if you hold a license, the stream may still be interrupted unless the rights holder has allowlisted your channel in Content ID. Review YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright matches and ask the rights holder about allowlisting when relevant.

Prepare the media and archive plan
Test that your video files play correctly and that the audio is audible and balanced. If you are using a playlist, check that each item is accessible to the playback system and that the transition from the final item back to the first works. Decide separately how you will preserve a complete recording: YouTube can automatically archive streams shorter than 12 hours, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup; see its live-stream archiving guidance.
Set up a local loop with OBS or another encoder
- Prepare the video feed. Open OBS or your chosen encoder and add the local Gurbani video. For a single file, enable looping for that media source. For several files, use a playlist-capable source and set the playlist to repeat. Confirm the files remain available at their saved locations and test the loop transition before streaming.
- Get YouTube’s connection details. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the live stream. Copy its server URL and stream key. Enter both in your encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast on the channel.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Start streaming from the encoder, then wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room. Check the picture, sound, and stream health before making the event public. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe the server URL, stream key, and preview workflow; follow the current prompts in Studio for starting the event.
- Keep the stream monitored. Check playback, audio, playlist transitions, and network status during operation. A local broadcast depends on the computer, files, power, encoder, and internet connection staying available. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend upload capacity with 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate. A network interruption can break the feed, so arrange a way to notice failures and restart the encoder or stream.
- Save a separate recording if the full broadcast matters. Do not rely on a single uninterrupted 24-hour stream to create a complete YouTube archive. Use a local recording or another suitable backup process and check that it has enough storage for the intended recording.
Choose between local playback and cloud playout
The main difference is where the loop runs and who is responsible for recovery. Neither approach should be treated as a guarantee of uninterrupted uptime; decide who will monitor the channel and how a dropped YouTube connection will be restored.
