How to Loop Luxury Home Listing Videos on a YouTube Live Channel

To loop luxury home listing videos on YouTube Live, use OBS Studio: add one video as a Media Source and enable Loop, or add several videos as a VLC Video playlist and enable Loop Playlist. Connect OBS to YouTube Studio with your stream key, check the preview, then monitor the live picture and sound. This do-it-yourself setup depends on the computer and connection running; it is not an unattended-streaming guarantee.

Before you start: channel access and listing rights

Check that the channel can go live

YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified, must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the creator must be at least 16. Confirm your channel’s status in YouTube Studio before preparing a broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming getting-started guidance

Clear every asset for live use

Make sure you have the necessary rights to the listing footage, photographs, music, narration, graphics, and other material in the video, both for the live broadcast and any archived stream. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause a placeholder to appear or the stream to be interrupted or terminated. A license alone may not prevent interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. YouTube copyright guidance · YouTube Terms of Service

Fair use, permission, public-domain status, or a Creative Commons license may be relevant to whether you can use content, but none guarantees that YouTube will not issue a copyright claim or strike. For a property listing, the safest approach is to use footage and audio you created or have explicitly cleared for this broadcast and its archive.

Choose the right OBS playback source

What you want to loop OBS source What to know
One listing video Media Source Enable Loop so the file plays again after playback completes.
Several listing videos in sequence VLC Video Add the files in the desired order and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for this source to appear in OBS.

The OBS Project describes its Media Source loop control as: “Loop — Specifies whether the file play again once playback has completed”. The cited OBS documentation does not establish a quality, reliability, or uptime advantage between Media Source and VLC Video. OBS Media Sources documentation

Set up a single listing video in OBS

  1. Prepare the file. Put the rights-cleared listing video somewhere the computer running OBS can access it reliably. Check its opening, ending, audio level, and any on-screen contact details before going live.
  2. Add a Media Source. In OBS, select or create a scene, then use the Sources panel’s + button and choose Media Source. Give it a recognizable name and select the video file.
  3. Enable looping. In the Media Source properties, turn on Loop. Confirm the source is visible in the scene preview and that its audio is routed as intended.
  4. Fit the video to the canvas. Adjust the source in the OBS preview so it fills the intended frame without cropping important listing details or leaving unintended empty areas.

Set up a playlist of listing videos

  1. Install VLC. OBS’s VLC Video source depends on VLC being installed on the computer. If VLC Video is missing from the source list, first check that VLC is installed.
  2. Add VLC Video. In the Sources panel, select + and choose VLC Video.
  3. Build the sequence. Add each file to the playlist in the order you want viewers to see it. Review the sequence for duplicate, outdated, or unlicensed material.
  4. Enable Loop Playlist. Turn on the playlist loop option in the source properties. Preview transitions between clips and check that both video and audio continue as expected.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live

  1. Create or select a live stream in YouTube Studio. Follow YouTube Studio’s live-stream setup for the channel and event you intend to use. Check the stream’s visibility and settings before you start.
  2. Copy the stream key into OBS. Enter the key in OBS’s streaming settings for the YouTube connection. YouTube describes stream keys as the stream’s password and address; keep yours private and do not show it in the video, a screenshot, or a public tutorial.
  3. Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Start streaming from OBS, then verify the incoming picture and sound in YouTube Studio before making the broadcast public or sharing its watch page.
  4. Check access from the viewer side. Confirm the live watch page is available to the intended audience and that the video is playing as expected.

For YouTube’s current setup steps and stream-key controls, use its live-stream settings guidance and live-streaming tips. Keep the stream key confidential; if you think it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.

Keep the broadcast usable while it runs

  • Monitor the live output for picture, sound, and playback problems rather than assuming a successful start means the stream will remain healthy.
  • Check that the watch page is accessible and that the archive is created as expected after the broadcast.
  • Give viewers an accurate expectation about replay controls. YouTube says DVR lets viewers pause and resume, but rewind may be limited or unavailable on very long streams, including streams longer than 12 hours. Do not promise that viewers can rewind to the start or to a particular listing segment. YouTube DVR guidance

Troubleshoot common loop and live-stream problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check
Playback stops at the end of the file The source’s loop control is off. Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop, or enable Loop Playlist for VLC Video.
VLC Video is not an available source VLC is not installed or OBS cannot detect the installation. Install VLC, then reopen OBS and check the source list again.
YouTube does not receive the OBS feed The stream key or encoder connection may be wrong, or the channel may not be eligible to stream. Verify the key in YouTube Studio and OBS, keep it private, and check the channel’s live-stream eligibility and restrictions.
Picture appears but audio is missing or wrong The source or scene audio may not be routed as expected. Check the OBS audio meters and monitoring output, then verify sound in the YouTube preview before sharing the stream.
Stream is interrupted after a content match YouTube detected third-party material, or a rights owner has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Use only content cleared for live and archived use; contact the rights owner about allowlisting where applicable.

Optional YouTube monetization

Eligible creators may have access to live ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships, depending on eligibility and settings. YouTube does not guarantee ad slots, so do not treat ads as assured revenue. YouTube live monetization guidance
