To loop Kannada Christian songs on YouTube around the clock, prepare a playlist or audio-and-visual feed, send it through an encoder to YouTube Live, and monitor the stream. Before you go live, confirm that you have permission for both the songs and the specific recordings; a song being Christian, freely viewable online, or labeled “free” does not by itself authorize a continuous rebroadcast.
1. Clear the rights to every song and recording
Check rights before building the playlist. A song’s composition (music and lyrics) and a particular sound recording can have different owners, so permission for one does not necessarily cover the other. YouTube’s livestream terms require the necessary rights for exploitation of live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants.
Confirm that the permission covers continuous transmission on YouTube, the territories reached, any lyrics or other visuals displayed, and any archived version of the stream. Keep a record of the grant and its terms. YouTube’s copyright guidance says copyright-safe music is public-domain material or music used with permission. Its Content ID system may still flag material described as free.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can cause a placeholder to appear, and if the matched content remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. If you have licensed third-party material, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to allowlist your channel; otherwise, a stream may be interrupted even when you have a license. Is a CCLI license enough?
CCLI is worth asking about for church worship repertoire, but do not assume a church streaming license covers a continuous song-only channel. CCLI describes its Streaming License as covering live-streamed or uploaded worship services, and Streaming Plus as covering song recordings and multitracks. Its Asia information similarly describes streaming services that include worship music and Streaming Plus for recordings and tracks. Those public descriptions do not establish coverage for a 24/7 Kannada song compilation, a specific song, or a commercial recording. Ask CCLI and the relevant rights owners about your territory, repertoire, recording, platform and format.
2. Prepare the loop and choose an encoder
The playlist or repeated media file supplies the content; an encoder sends the resulting audio-and-video feed to YouTube Live. For a simple setup, that might mean authorized audio with a static visual. The encoder can be software or a standalone hardware device. YouTube documents both categories, but does not endorse a particular playlist player or guarantee unattended 24/7 operation.

Software or hardware?
- Software encoder: Useful when your computer can reliably play the loop and encode the feed. Plan for operating-system updates, power, network stability, and recovery if the application or computer stops.
- Hardware encoder: A separate device may suit an installation designed for continuous operation. Compare its supported inputs, unattended-operation features, monitoring, backup options, power and network resilience, YouTube compatibility, and total cost. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware for higher-production events; official guidance does not validate a particular model for continuous-duty streaming.
YouTube lists OBS among encoders that support HLS output. HLS can suit workflows that need its supported features, but it has higher latency than RTMP and requires specific segment and playlist settings. A basic static loop does not need HLS unless the workflow calls for it. YouTube’s encoder overview is at its live encoder help page.
3. Create the YouTube Live stream and configure output
- Enable live streaming: In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and follow the steps to enable live streaming and create a stream. Confirm the channel is eligible and the feature is active. YouTube says first-time live streaming may take up to 24 hours to become available.
- Copy the connection details: Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into the encoder’s streaming settings. Keep the key private: it gives the encoder access to your YouTube feed. Use YouTube’s current encoder setup instructions for the exact Studio flow.
- Choose a sustainable output: YouTube recommends testing upload speed and having available upload bandwidth above the total stream bitrate, with headroom. Do not choose a bitrate just because your connection reaches it briefly; the feed has to remain stable.
- Set encoder parameters: YouTube’s guidance includes 720p at 30 frames per second with 2–6 Mbps video bitrate; H.264 over RTMP or RTMPS; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate encoding; and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. Check YouTube’s current live encoder settings before configuring, since requirements can change.
- Preview before going public: Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that the audio is audible and clean, the visual is correct, and YouTube reports a healthy incoming feed before making the stream public.
4. Test and operate it as a continuous stream
A 24/7 feed needs a response plan, not just a playlist. YouTube recommends checking preview and stream health, testing encoder failover, verifying event accessibility, and monitoring audio and video quality. Arrange for a person or alerting setup to respond to internet, encoder, rights, and platform interruptions. Test the restart or failover path before depending on it.

Plan session transitions rather than assuming a single YouTube event can stay open indefinitely. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so check current Live Control Room behavior and schedule transitions that suit your channel. See YouTube’s stream setup guidance.
