Yes. AWS Elemental MediaLive can loop a supported file input indefinitely, and you can send its live output to a YouTube stream. The setup is not a one-click YouTube preset: you must configure and verify the MediaLive output against the current YouTube ingestion settings. For devotional content, confirm that you have the necessary rights before going live.
What you need before you start
- An MP4 file you are authorized to stream. MediaLive supports file inputs from an Amazon S3 bucket or an HTTP(S) server.
- An AWS account and a MediaLive channel configured for a file input and live output.
- A YouTube channel able to use live streaming, plus the stream URL and stream key for the stream you create in YouTube Studio.
- Rights for all music, recordings, images, and other material in the video. YouTube places responsibility for those rights on the person providing the stream.
AWS and YouTube documentation describes this workflow without identifying an India-specific technical exception. That does not establish that a particular devotional recording is cleared for use in India; check the applicable rights and territorial permissions for your repertoire.

Configure MediaLive to repeat the file
- Prepare and host the source. Put the authorized MP4 in an Amazon S3 bucket or make it available from an HTTP(S) server supported by MediaLive.
- Create a file input. In MediaLive, configure an input that points to the hosted file. AWS documentation covers file inputs and their supported upstream sources.
- Set the file-end behavior to loop. MediaLive’s Channels API describes the file input
sourceEndBehavioroption for looping the file so it can be streamed indefinitely. Confirm the setting on the input used by your channel; do not assume that simply attaching a file makes it repeat. - Build the channel output. Configure a MediaLive channel with that input and an output suitable for YouTube encoder ingestion. AWS documents RTMP outputs and destination settings, but the documentation does not establish a universal ready-made YouTube preset for every channel configuration.
- Validate the complete output path. Check the selected protocol, destination endpoint, TLS compatibility, codecs, and channel settings against the current MediaLive console options and YouTube Live Control Room. A configuration that saves in AWS is not by itself proof that YouTube is receiving a valid stream.
Connect MediaLive to YouTube
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream or select one you intend to reuse.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. Treat the key like a password; do not publish it or include it in a public configuration screenshot.
- Enter YouTube’s URL and key in the MediaLive output destination fields that correspond to the selected ingestion protocol. Use the endpoint and protocol YouTube currently presents for that stream, and verify compatibility with the MediaLive output you configured.
- Start the encoder/channel workflow and check the incoming preview in Live Control Room before making the stream public. YouTube recommends testing before launch and monitoring stream health while live.
- Once the preview and health indicators are satisfactory, start or schedule the public broadcast in YouTube Studio as appropriate for the stream.
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. A continuously looping broadcast may exceed that duration, so do not rely on that automatic archive statement as a guarantee that an entire long-running loop will be retained as one video.

Choose an ingestion protocol

The available documentation does not establish HLS as required or preferred for this particular MediaLive setup. For an ordinary encoder workflow, begin by evaluating YouTube’s recommended RTMPS path, then verify that your actual MediaLive output can meet the current endpoint and protocol requirements. Do not apply HDR-specific HLS settings to a normal SDR devotional loop unless the source and encoder genuinely require HDR.

Video, audio, and stream-health checks
- Use H.264 video and AAC audio for a standard YouTube encoder configuration, and verify that the MediaLive output is set accordingly.
- Test the stream before the public launch. Confirm that YouTube receives both picture and sound and that the preview shows the intended source.
- Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators while live. If the picture freezes, audio drops, or YouTube reports an ingestion problem, check the output destination, protocol, and encoder/channel configuration rather than assuming the file loop itself is at fault.
- Confirm that the loop returns cleanly to its beginning. Inspect the source file’s end and start for unwanted silence, black frames, or abrupt transitions before relying on it for continuous playback.
Copyright and devotional content in India
Religious subject matter does not by itself make a recording free to rebroadcast. The underlying composition, a particular performance, the sound recording, footage, and artwork may involve separate rights. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for having the necessary rights on the provider.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream, interrupt it, or terminate it. A license alone may not prevent an interruption if the relevant rights owner has not allowlisted your channel. Resolve permissions and any required channel allowlisting with the rights owner before broadcasting; do not wait for a live claim to find out whether the arrangement is recognized by YouTube.

Costs and operational considerations
MediaLive charges and available options depend on the configuration and usage. There is no reliable single cost for an always-on devotional loop without specifying the intended setup and calculating it against AWS’s current MediaLive pricing. Check the current AWS pricing page before deployment, and account for the other AWS resources your chosen workflow uses rather than treating the encoder service as the entire bill.

MediaLive is a cloud encoder workflow suited to operators who need AWS configuration control and can validate and operate the channel and output. If the main need is simply keeping an uploaded video running continuously, compare the cloud configuration effort and expected usage cost with a simpler managed option before committing.
