To keep a prerecorded rain video repeating, use YouTube’s built-in Loop control; you do not need to restart a live broadcast or install another app. On a computer, right-click the player and choose Loop. On mobile, open Settings → Additional settings → Loop video. On a TV or game console, open the playback controls and select Repeat until it repeats the currently playing video.
Loop a rain video on your device
These controls repeat a regular YouTube video, including a long rain video or a replay that has finished processing. YouTube documents the following steps in its guide to looping videos and playlists. Menu labels and placement can vary by app version or language.
On a computer
- Open the rain video’s YouTube watch page.
- Right-click inside the video player.
- Select Loop. YouTube will repeat the video continuously.
On a phone or tablet
- Open the video in the YouTube app.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Additional settings, then Loop video.
On a TV or game console
- While the video is playing, press down on your remote or controller to show the playback controls.
- Select Repeat until it indicates Repeat • Currently playing.
You can also look for the Repeat toggle in Settings while watching.
Repeat one video or the whole playlist?
If your rain video is playing from a playlist, YouTube has separate repeat states. Use the playlist’s Loop control to repeat the playlist. To repeat only the current video, activate Loop again until a 1 appears on the loop icon. Check the icon state: repeating the playlist is not the same as repeating one video.

Can you loop an active YouTube live stream?
Not in the same way as a prerecorded video. An active broadcast is live, not a finished video item with an ordinary Loop control. If the stream has DVR enabled and available, you can pause, rewind within the available buffer, and resume; playback continues from the point where you paused. You cannot seek to a point before the broadcast began. YouTube explains these limits in its live-stream DVR guidance.
DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. YouTube says the same limits apply to pausing and resuming. Apple TV, Apple AirPlay, and older app versions may also have lower rewind limits.

What happens when the live broadcast ends?
After a broadcast ends, the channel may post a replay or highlights as videos. If a replay is available, open it and use the ordinary Loop control for your device. Replay availability depends on the channel posting one; YouTube describes this in its overview of live streams.
YouTube can automatically archive streams shorter than 12 hours, but warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you are the broadcaster and need a copy, YouTube recommends keeping a local recording as a backup. See its live-stream archiving guidance.

If the video does not repeat
- You are watching a live broadcast: Loop applies to videos, not to rewinding an active broadcast to its beginning. Use available DVR controls, or open a replay after the channel posts one.
- The playlist advances to another video: Turn on the playlist Loop control, or activate Loop again to repeat only the current video until the icon shows 1.
- You cannot find the control: Confirm you are on the video’s watch screen, then check the device-specific instructions above. App menus can differ by version or locale; on a TV or console, the Repeat control may be in playback controls or Settings.
- You cannot rewind far enough in a live stream: DVR availability and rewind limits depend on the broadcast and playback setup. Streams longer than 12 hours may have restricted or unavailable DVR.
- The finished stream is missing: A replay is not guaranteed. The channel must make one available, and streams over 12 hours may not be archived automatically.
