To loop a Hindi news bulletin on YouTube Live, add the recording to an OBS scene as a Media Source, enable Loop, then connect OBS to an encoder stream in YouTube Studio using its stream URL and key. Test the picture, audio, repeat and YouTube preview before making the broadcast public. First, confirm you have rights to rebroadcast every part of the bulletin and keep its archive.
Before you start: check rights and channel eligibility
Confirm permission for the entire bulletin
Make sure you have permission to rebroadcast the recording’s video, audio, music, clips and graphics, and to retain an archived copy if YouTube will keep one. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can replace the picture, trigger a warning, or interrupt or terminate the stream. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption: the rights owner may also need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms and conditions. These platform rules do not determine whether a particular bulletin or license permits your use.

Check that your channel can go live
YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, so check eligibility and activate live streaming in the channel before the planned broadcast. See Get started with live streaming.
Prepare the recording
Keep the bulletin file accessible on the computer running OBS. OBS Media Source supports common video formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, TS and WebM; compatibility can still depend on the installed OBS version and system. Use the installed version’s Media Source properties if labels differ.

Set up the looping video in OBS
- Create or select a scene. In OBS, select an existing scene or use the Scenes panel to add one for the bulletin.
- Add the recording. In the Sources panel, choose + → Media Source. Create a new source, name it, and select the local bulletin file in its properties.
- Enable the repeat. In the Media Source properties, turn on Loop. OBS documents this option as making the file play again after playback has completed. For the documented controls, see OBS Project’s Media Sources guide.
- Check framing and sound. Confirm the bulletin is visible in the OBS preview and that the audio meter responds when it plays. If the picture does not fill the canvas as intended, adjust the source’s size and position in the preview.
- Verify the loop. Let the file reach its end and confirm playback starts again. Check the transition and listen for an unwanted gap or abrupt audio change.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Open YouTube Studio. Choose Create → Go Live, then create or select an encoder stream. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes this workflow.
- Copy the connection details. In the stream settings, copy YouTube’s stream URL and stream key into OBS’s stream settings. YouTube describes the key as the credential/address that lets the encoder send the feed. Treat it like a password: do not show it in a screenshot, tutorial or public post. Refer to Manage live stream settings for YouTube’s settings guidance.
- Review encoder settings. Choose output settings appropriate for the recording and connection, including resolution, bitrate and keyframe interval. YouTube publishes recommended values by resolution and frame rate in Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. Use that current table rather than guessing or assuming one bitrate fits every source.
- Set the event details and visibility. In YouTube Studio, check the stream title, description, audience and visibility before starting. Use an unlisted test if you want to check the viewer experience without a public broadcast.
- Start the encoder and wait for preview. Start streaming from OBS. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, confirm YouTube receives the feed and inspect the preview and stream health before clicking to go live, following YouTube’s live streaming tips.
- Monitor the broadcast. Watch the OBS connection, playback and audio, YouTube stream health and any copyright warnings. When ending the event, stop the encoder and end the YouTube stream as appropriate.
Archive and retention considerations
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Decide whether that archive should remain available and confirm your rights cover it, not just the live transmission. If your planned loop may run longer than 12 hours, do not assume YouTube will retain a complete archive; check YouTube’s current guidance and plan your own lawful recording or retention approach.
Troubleshooting common problems
- The file does not appear or play: Reopen Media Source properties and verify the selected file path. Check that the format is supported by your OBS/system setup; try a compatible copy of the file if playback still fails.
- The bulletin plays once and stops: Open the source’s properties and make sure Loop is enabled. Confirm the transition at the end in the OBS preview.
- The stream connects but YouTube preview is blank: Check that the correct scene is active and the Media Source is visible, then check YouTube’s incoming preview and stream-health status before going live.
- There is no sound: Check that the source’s audio is present in OBS and that its meter moves during playback. Also review OBS audio routing and YouTube’s preview before starting the public broadcast.
- YouTube will not accept the stream: Verify that the stream URL and key were copied from the intended YouTube encoder stream and entered in OBS. If the key may have been exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before reconnecting.
- YouTube interrupts or warns about the broadcast: Review the copyright notice and resolve rights or Content ID allowlisting with the relevant rights owner. Do not assume that owning a file or having permission for a recording automatically clears every embedded track, clip or graphic.
- First-time live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification and restrictions, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation according to YouTube’s getting-started guidance.
