You can add value to a SUBE card online through the App SUBE, a virtual wallet, home banking, or an ATM. But an electronic payment is not the final step: you must credit the pending load to the physical card using an NFC-enabled Android phone, a Terminal Automática SUBE (TAS), or a bus that supports Carga a Bordo. You can also load in person at a Punto SUBE.
Choose how to load your SUBE card
| Method | Where you pay or load | Separate crediting step? | What you need |
|---|---|---|---|
| App SUBE, virtual wallet, home banking, or ATM | Online or through the relevant service | Yes, credit the pending load to the physical card | A physical SUBE card and access to one of the listed payment channels |
| App SUBE with NFC | On a compatible phone | No additional location visit; use the app to credit the pending load | Android 6 or later and NFC |
| Terminal Automática SUBE (TAS) | At an available terminal, including some stations and service points | Yes, tap the card at the terminal | Access to a TAS |
| Carga a Bordo | On a bus equipped for the service | Yes, tell the driver and tap when instructed | An equipped bus on a route where the service is available |
| Punto SUBE | In person at a participating point | In-person loading is handled at the point of sale | A location that offers SUBE loading |
SUBE lists the official electronic channels and in-person service on its loading information page. A station or kiosk is not automatically a loading point: confirm that the specific location offers the service, or look for a Punto SUBE or available TAS.

Load electronically, then credit the card
Buy the load
- Choose the App SUBE, a virtual wallet, home banking, or an ATM. Wallet and bank options depend on the services you use.
- If using the App SUBE, select “Comprá carga,” choose your card, enter an amount, and pay with a debit card or electronic wallet. App screens may change, so follow the labels shown in your current version.
The electronic transaction puts a load in the system; it does not necessarily update the balance shown on the physical card immediately. SUBE’s loading FAQ explains that an electronic load appears on the card only after it is credited.

Credit the pending amount
- With App SUBE and NFC: On an Android phone running Android 6 or later with NFC, open the app, choose “Acreditá o consultá saldo,” then “Ver saldo,” and hold the card against the back of the phone until the load is credited. The official App SUBE guidance lists Android compatibility and notes that the relevant NFC function is not compatible with iOS.
- At a TAS: Hold the card on the terminal and wait for it to process the pending load. Terminals are available at some stations and other service points.
- On an equipped bus: Tell the driver you have a pending load, then tap the card when instructed. Carga a Bordo depends on the vehicle and locality; it is not available on every bus or throughout Argentina.
You do not need an NFC phone if you can use a TAS or a bus that supports Carga a Bordo. SUBE says electronic loads do not expire, so a pending amount remains available until the card is presented to a supported device.

Check the current load and balance limits
In guidance published by Argentina.gob.ar / SUBE on July 22, 2026, the maximum electronic load is ARS 30,000 per operation, and the maximum balance on a physical card is ARS 40,000. To load more than ARS 30,000 electronically, make multiple transactions. If your total pending loads would take the card above its ARS 40,000 balance cap, the excess stays pending until you spend enough balance to make room for it to be credited. These are the limits in that dated guidance, not figures guaranteed to remain unchanged; see the July 22, 2026 SUBE notice for its published details.
