In Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade, character level, GRADE, skill enhancement, awakening, and character rank are separate progression systems. Use Training Lights to raise a character’s level; if the character has reached its level cap, advance GRADE to raise that ceiling. Upgrade eligible command skills and ultimate skills separately with JP and Cursed Crystals. Exact labels, costs, and material sources can vary with the game version or localization, so check each upgrade screen before spending resources.
What each progression system does
| System | What it changes | What to use |
|---|---|---|
| Character level | Raises core stats and is limited by the character’s current level cap. | Training Lights (修練の燈), primarily. |
| GRADE | Unlocks character slots and advances the character’s GRADE; advancing GRADE raises the level cap. | The materials shown in the character’s GRADE screen. |
| Skill enhancement | Improves eligible command skills and the ultimate skill. | JP and Cursed Crystals (呪晶); higher levels may require rarer crystal types. |
| Awakening, character rank, and Recollection Bits | Separate development systems that can affect stats or combat effects; they are not skill-menu upgrades. | Use the requirements displayed in each system. |
These mechanics are described by specialist guides, rather than an official mechanics manual: Game8’s overview and its guides to leveling and skill enhancement, plus GameWith’s guides to GRADE and skill priorities. The exact labels and values in your client should take precedence.

How to raise a character’s level
- Open the character enhancement area and select the character you want to develop.
- Choose the level-up option and use Training Lights (修練の燈) to add experience.
- If you need more, check the dedicated Training Lights enhancement quest. Event rewards may also include Training Lights, so compare the current event rewards with ordinary farming.
Training Lights are the principal general leveling item described by the leveling guides. Leveling raises core stats, but it cannot take a character beyond the current cap.
How to raise the level cap with GRADE
If leveling stops at the cap, the next step is GRADE—not skill enhancement. GRADE uses materials to unlock the character’s slots; completing the current GRADE lets you advance, and advancing raises the level ceiling.
#1 Best Overall
- A Good Smile Company import
- From the popular anime series
- Measures approximately 6.9” tall
- Be sure to add her to your collection
- Open the character’s GRADE screen and check which materials and slots are still required.
- Farm the listed materials. GameWith points to the Cursed Object Collection quest for required materials; the exact useful stage depends on what your character needs.
- Return to the GRADE screen, unlock the required slots, and complete the current GRADE to advance.
When a material is missing, use the in-game acquisition or “obtain” prompt beside it if available. It can show quests that award that item. Check the current client’s displayed requirements, since material sources and labels may change.
How to upgrade skills
- In character enhancement, select the character and open the skill-enhancement option.
- Choose an eligible command skill or the ultimate skill, then inspect its level-up information for the exact benefit and cost of the next level.
- If the displayed JP and Cursed Crystal requirements are affordable and the upgrade fits your needs, confirm the enhancement.
The Game8 skill guide reports that command skills and the ultimate skill can be enhanced up to level 10, but check your current client for the available cap and cost. Requirements rise at higher levels, and higher levels may call for rarer Cursed Crystal types.

Abilities not upgraded in this menu
According to the Game8 guide, auto-skills and linked ultimate attacks do not have conventional upgrades in the skill-enhancement menu. Linked ultimate effects are associated with awakening stages, and latent unlocks may also influence abilities. Look for the relevant awakening or unlock system rather than assuming every ability has a skill-level button.

How to choose what to upgrade first
There is no universally best order for every character or roster. Make the choice based on what is currently limiting your progress and what your team needs:
Rank #3
- A Good Smile Company import
- From the popular anime series
- Measures approximately 6.7” tall
- Be sure to add her to your collection
- Character is at its level cap: Work on GRADE to unlock further leveling.
- You want broad stat growth: Raise character level, provided there is room under the cap.
- You need a particular combat effect: Consider the eligible skill that supplies it, and compare its next-level benefit with the JP and crystal cost.
- Resources are limited: Weigh the rising cost of later skill levels against an early skill upgrade or another character’s development.
- You are choosing between skills: GameWith recommends considering supportive effects such as buffs or healing and useful area attacks. Treat that as general guidance, not a rule: a character’s role, team composition, and current content can change which upgrade matters most.
Before committing scarce materials, compare the character’s level-cap status, the specific skill effect you want, your JP and crystal supply, and the material opportunities currently available in the game. The in-game upgrade display is the best guide to the exact next cost and effect.

The mechanics and recommendations above are reported by specialist Japanese-language guides, including Game8 and GameWith. Store listings establish the game’s availability but do not document these progression mechanics. Because labels, caps, and material sources may change between updates or localizations, verify them in your own client before farming or spending resources.
