What makes the Skulker dangerous
The Skulker is a small, fast ground ARC introduced with the Frozen Trail update on Pendola Pass. It relies on surprise rather than a prolonged stand-up fight. It waits near the edge of your vision, attacks with a flurry of blows or short bursts of fire, and retreats when players lose track of it.

That behavior makes awareness more important than raw damage. Keep scanning corners and peripheral angles, and tell your squad where the machine is before anyone moves. The Arc Raiders enemy database summarizes the counterplay: “Keep eyes on it. If you lose sight of it, it retreats and sets up the next ambush. Check corners, stay with your squad and finish it quickly once it commits to an attack.”

Take hard cover without losing sight
Use a wall, crate or other solid object to break the Skulker’s firing lane while preserving a view of its approach. Cover protects you from its attack and prevents a blind chase from turning into a second ambush. Keep at least one teammate watching the angle if the machine moves behind nearby geometry.

Wait for a committed attack or turret deployment
The Skulker is more difficult to damage while it is constantly moving. Your cleanest opening comes when it commits to an attack or deploys its turret. Its movement becomes easier to read, giving you time to aim. If the turret is already active, you can still kill the Skulker with heavy ammunition; do not assume deployment makes it invulnerable.

Shoot the legs first
The legs are the practical weak point for controlling the fight. Concentrate fire on the leg components until they break or the machine is visibly slowed. A disabled or impaired Skulker is much easier to track, and its small body becomes a more consistent target.

Switch to a focused body burst
Once its mobility is reduced, use a precision weapon for a short, controlled burst into the body. The Anvil, Renegade and Osprey are cited precision choices for this leg-then-body sequence. They are options rather than a universal ranking; the best choice depends on the weapon, ammunition and handling you brought into the raid.

Finish immediately and regroup
Do not pause after breaking the legs. Complete the body burst while the Skulker is committed, then regroup with the squad. A second ARC or a repositioned Skulker can punish a player who separates to collect a kill or chase a retreat.

Choosing a weapon and ammunition
Evaluate your loadout using four practical questions: how quickly can it disable the legs, how accurately can you hit a small moving target, how much ammunition does the sequence consume, and whether the turret is already deployed?

The available guidance does not establish a universal damage winner among the Anvil, Renegade and Osprey. Choose the one you can control and feed with enough ammunition to complete both phases of the kill.

Where to find Skulkers
Skulkers are associated with Pendola Pass. For the Tracks of the Beast quest, the useful route runs through the northern tracks and Almatera Station. They are small and easy to miss, so listen for the characteristic beep while checking corners and sight lines.

- Blindly chasing: stop at the corner, establish a new sight line and let the Skulker reveal its next approach.
- Firing at the body first: target the legs to reduce movement before spending precision ammunition on the small body.
- Ignoring the turret: use cover, wait for a readable opening and switch to heavy ammunition if your precision supply is inadequate.
- Splitting from the team: call the machine’s position and maintain overlapping angles so a retreat cannot become another ambush.
- Assuming exact numbers: no confirmed hit points, damage multipliers or universal time-to-kill figures are established, so plan around positioning and the leg-disable window.
Skulker Targeter reward
Guides report a Skulker Targeter as an item obtained from defeating the enemy. Exact drop rates, component health values and a complete loot table have not been confirmed, so treat the item as a reported reward rather than a guaranteed percentage or a fixed post-kill drop.
