1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFor worship videos playing in a youth room, make an ordered YouTube playlist, start it on the room’s computer or TV, and check autoplay on that device. You do not need to start a YouTube livestream just to play videos in the room. Because autoplay can stop after inactivity, test a full session and have a volunteer ready to restart playback if needed.
Set up a playlist for the youth room
- Choose videos your ministry is allowed to play. A playlist organizes videos; it does not grant permission to use their music or footage. Check the rights guidance below before relying on recordings or videos.
- Put them in the order you want. Create a playlist and set its visibility to match how your group will access it. If you build a queue on a computer, YouTube lets you save that queue to an existing or new playlist. A queue alone does not persist after the browser closes. See YouTube’s queue and playlist help.
- Use the equipment already connected to the room display. A computer with a browser or a TV running YouTube can serve as the playback device. YouTube documents queue controls on computers and autoplay settings on TVs; its help does not identify a best device or establish that new equipment is necessary. Menu labels vary by device and app version.
- Start the playlist on that device and check its autoplay setting. YouTube’s autoplay setting can differ from one device to another, so do not assume the setting on a volunteer’s phone or account also applies to the room’s TV or computer. Check YouTube’s autoplay help for device-specific guidance.
- Test playback for the length of the planned session. YouTube says autoplay can stop after inactivity: after four hours on Wi-Fi or 30 minutes on a mobile network. These are stated inactivity limits, not a guarantee of continuous playback until those times in every setup.
- Have a volunteer available. Keep someone prepared to restart playback if it stops. This is a practical precaution given YouTube’s documented inactivity behavior, not a guarantee that a particular device will stop.
Playlist playback, autoplay, and livestreaming are different
A playlist follows your chosen order
A playlist is the curated sequence of videos your ministry selected. It is the better fit when the service needs a planned order rather than whatever video YouTube might suggest next.

Autoplay selects what comes next
Autoplay can continue with a related video when a video ends, but it is not a promise to follow your ministry’s intended sequence. Its setting is device-specific and playback may be subject to inactivity limits.

A livestream broadcasts to remote viewers
Starting a YouTube livestream is a separate process for sending a live or encoder-produced feed to viewers. It is unnecessary for ordinary playback on a youth-room display. If you do want to broadcast remotely, YouTube offers mobile, webcam, encoder, and console setup routes. Its live-stream setup guidance says the channel must be verified and must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guide.

For an encoder broadcast, configure the stream in YouTube’s Live Control Room and protect the stream key as a credential: YouTube describes it as the password/address used by the encoder. The settings page includes privacy, latency, DVR, and auto-start/auto-stop controls. See YouTube’s livestream settings help.
Check music and video rights before playing or broadcasting
A YouTube playlist does not give a ministry copyright permission for the songs, recordings, or footage in its videos. YouTube’s livestream terms say that content providers must have the necessary rights for streamed content, including music licensing rights. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party content and may replace it with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate the stream. Even a licensed stream may be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Review YouTube’s livestream terms and its guidance on copyright in live streams.

CCLI’s US guidance draws distinctions among uses. It says its Streaming License covers worship services using songs performed live by church musicians; Streaming Plus extends the described scope to authorized master recordings and multitracks. CCLI also says video content generally requires permission from copyright owners, with a stated exception for SongSelect Lyric Videos under its terms. Its US license summary identifies restrictions on artist recordings and prerecorded songs unless expressly authorized. See CCLI’s US Streaming Licenses page and CCLI’s US scope information.

Do not assume a church streaming license permits assembling or rebroadcasting arbitrary third-party YouTube music videos. Check the actual license terms for your country and intended use, and obtain permission from the relevant rights holders where the use is not expressly covered.
