Update a dealership walkaround playlist in YouTube Studio
The desktop workflow gives you the clearest view of the playlist and its contents. YouTube’s documented interface may change, so if a label has moved, look for the playlist controls in Studio’s Playlists area.

- Open the playlist: In YouTube Studio on a computer, select Content > Playlists, open the playlist menu, and choose Edit on YouTube.
- Add the new walkaround: In the playlist, select Add videos. Find the video by searching, pasting its URL, or selecting it from your channel library. You can also add a video from its details page using the menu option for adding it to a playlist.
- Set its position: Drag and drop the video into the desired spot. Choose an ordering policy that suits how customers use the playlist, then apply it consistently.
- Remove outdated or incorrect entries: Remove a video if it no longer serves the playlist’s current purpose or was included by mistake.
- Check the playlist details: Confirm that the title and description still accurately describe the collection, and set visibility for the intended audience. YouTube documents a maximum of 150 characters for a playlist title and 5,000 characters for its description.
- Review after publishing: Make playlist maintenance a checkpoint each time a new walkaround goes live. This is a practical editorial habit, not a YouTube-required schedule.
Choose an order that helps customers browse
YouTube allows manual reordering; it does not prescribe a best order for a dealership. Pick the approach that matches the way your viewers use the videos:

- Newest first: Useful when customers mainly want to see current inventory and recent walkarounds.
- Grouped browsing: Keep vehicles together according to a stable scheme your channel already uses, such as a consistent inventory category or browsing sequence.
- Existing channel convention: If viewers recognize the current organization, preserve it unless there is a clear reason to change. Consistency can make the playlist easier to navigate.
Before saving, check that the new video is where you intended it to be and that removing an old entry has not disrupted the rest of the order.

Use the Android YouTube Studio app when you are away from a computer
YouTube’s Android Studio app supports playlist maintenance, although some functions may be unavailable to supervised accounts. The documented options include adding and removing videos and changing playlist settings and order.
- Open the Studio app and go to Content.
- Use the video’s edit controls to add it to a playlist, or open the playlist and remove videos that no longer belong.
- Open the Playlists tab to edit the playlist title, description, privacy, or order.
- Save the changes, then reopen the playlist to confirm the update.
Keep playlist maintenance separate from live scheduling
Use YouTube Studio’s playlist controls to manage membership, details, visibility, and order. Use Live Control Room to manage stream settings and scheduled streams. YouTube documents editing metadata when creating a stream, from stream settings, or while scheduling; it also describes reusing settings from a previous stream. None of that automatically updates playlist membership.

A scheduled stream may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, and viewers can choose “Notify me.” That is a scheduling feature; adding a stream to a playlist is not documented as a way to send notifications.

Tags are a minor discovery consideration compared with clear metadata and a useful playlist. YouTube Help says: “Tags are descriptive keywords that you can add to your video to help viewers find your content. Tags can be useful if the content of your video is commonly misspelled. Otherwise, tags play a minimal role in your video’s discovery.” Prioritize an accurate title, a useful description, and an orderly playlist rather than treating tags as a major discovery lever.

Troubleshoot common playlist update problems
- The new walkaround is missing: Confirm that you added the correct video to the intended playlist, then reopen the playlist and check its membership.
- The video appears in the wrong place: Reorder it with drag and drop on desktop, or use the playlist order controls in the Android Studio app, then save and verify.
- The playlist still shows outdated details: Recheck its title, description, and privacy in the playlist settings and save any changes.
- You cannot find a control in the app: Some functionality may not be available to supervised accounts. Try the desktop Studio workflow if the option is unavailable.
- You expected a scheduled stream to update the playlist: Scheduling and playlist membership are separate workflows. Add or remove videos in the playlist controls yourself.
