Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo keep a YouTube fundraising livestream running around the clock, send a rights-cleared video or playlist to YouTube through an encoder, set the media to repeat, and monitor the stream and fundraiser. The encoder can run on a computer you operate or on a cloud service. Before starting, confirm your channel can livestream, decide how donations will be collected, and plan for the fact that YouTube does not promise one complete archive for a broadcast left running indefinitely.
What you need to decide before going live
Choose where the encoder will run
A local encoder gives you direct control over the playlist and settings, but the computer or hardware encoder, power, and internet connection must remain available. A cloud playout service runs uploaded media remotely, so a local computer does not need to stay on; you still need to upload the files, configure the stream, and monitor YouTube and the fundraiser. YouTube documents encoder-based streaming but does not set a universal computer specification or guarantee uninterrupted operation. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.

Confirm livestream access
Your channel must be verified and free of live-streaming restrictions. YouTube says first-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the fundraising event. The current setup flow is in YouTube Studio’s encoder instructions.

YouTube Giving eligibility depends on location and channel status. YouTube’s FAQ lists supported location, YouTube Partner Program membership, at least 10,000 subscribers, and not being designated as made for kids among its requirements. Check the current eligibility shown in Studio before building the event around this option; availability and rules can change. When a YouTube Giving fundraiser is attached to a scheduled livestream, eligible viewers can donate on the watch page or in live chat. YouTube says Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable on streams with Live Chat Donations; it also says Google partners with Network for Good to collect and distribute donations and that YouTube pays transaction fees. See YouTube Giving FAQs.

If your channel cannot use YouTube Giving, YouTube identifies approved third-party fundraising sites such as GoFundMe and JustGiving as alternatives. Link to the actual campaign and explain who receives donations and how proceeds will be handled. See YouTube’s fundraising guidance.
Prepare the video, playlist, and rights
Use media you are entitled to stream
Use original material or obtain permission covering every video, image, and audio element in the broadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms require the necessary rights for use on Google services, including music licensing rights, and require compliance with applicable laws and Community Guidelines. The terms state: “The Live Content must comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines.” Read YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions.
A license does not necessarily prevent an interruption. YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder, and the stream may be interrupted or terminated if the issue remains. If you have permission to use matched material, ask the rights owner to allowlist your channel through Content ID. Details are in YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Make the loop suitable for a fundraiser
- Arrange the playlist so that the transition from the final item back to the first is intentional. Test transitions and listen for gaps, abrupt volume changes, or missing audio.
- Keep the donation appeal accurate and clear. Do not make untrue claims about where donations go or urge viewers to watch or click ads to increase a donation.
- Do not ask viewers to repeatedly watch or click ads to create artificial engagement. YouTube also warns against using other creators’ work without sufficient changes.
- Give viewers a straightforward way to find the campaign details, including who is collecting the funds and how the proceeds will be handled.
These practices follow YouTube’s fundraising guidance.
Set up the continuous stream with a local encoder
- Enable livestreaming in YouTube Studio. Complete channel verification and resolve any livestream restriction. Allow up to 24 hours for initial activation, as YouTube advises.
- Create or schedule the livestream. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow. Set the event title, description, visibility, and any fundraiser details. If using YouTube Giving, confirm the fundraiser is attached to the scheduled livestream.
- Copy the stream URL and key. Enter YouTube’s stream URL and key in your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone with it can send a broadcast to your channel. Do not publish it in a video, chat, public document, or screenshot.
- Load the prerecorded media. Add the video or playlist to your encoder and enable repeat or looping. Software encoders and hardware encoders are both covered by YouTube’s setup guidance. Test the end-to-start transition before the event rather than assuming a playlist will loop cleanly.
- Set the connection and picture quality. Use RTMPS, YouTube’s recommended secure ingestion protocol. Choose bitrate and resolution based on the available upload connection and the current YouTube encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance. The appropriate values depend on the chosen resolution and encoder; do not select a bitrate that your sustained upload connection cannot support.
- Start a private or unlisted test first. Check the encoder’s connection, YouTube preview, stream health, picture, and audio. Confirm the watch page displays the intended stream and fundraiser information. YouTube recommends testing before going live and monitoring the stream’s audio, video, and health; see its live streaming tips for computers.
- Go public and keep watch. Start the scheduled broadcast, verify the public watch page, and check it periodically for playback, sound, stream-health warnings, and donation activity. A successful encoder connection is not a substitute for checking what viewers see.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is the first cloud option to try: it keeps uploaded videos looping on YouTube from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives each account a free first day with no card required. After you upload the video or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once and go live; your computer and home connection do not have to stay on, and the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. Learn about StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
Plan for the replay separately
YouTube says encoder livestreams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that a continuous 24/7 broadcast will produce one complete replay. If a complete replay matters, schedule shorter sessions and keep the source media or a separate recording as appropriate. Plan the session boundaries before the fundraiser, including how viewers will find the next broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.

Troubleshoot common failures
YouTube Studio will not let you start streaming
Check that channel verification is complete and that no livestream restriction is active. If this is the first activation, allow the up-to-24-hour activation period YouTube describes rather than waiting until the event begins.
The encoder connects but the preview is blank or silent
Check that the intended media file is loaded, its audio track is enabled, and the encoder is sending to the stream URL and key for the scheduled event. Review YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators, then test the file and playlist transition again before making the event public.
The stream drops or becomes unstable
Check encoder connection status and the available upload connection. If the stream is unstable, choose a resolution and bitrate the connection can sustain using YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance. Reconnect using the correct stream URL and key, then verify playback on the watch page. Do not assume a 24/7 stream is guaranteed to remain uninterrupted.

A copyright match interrupts the broadcast
Remove or replace the matched material if you do not have the necessary rights. If you do have permission, contact the rights owner and request a Content ID allowlist for your channel; having a license alone may not stop an automated interruption. Follow YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
The fundraiser is not available or donations are not appearing
Recheck YouTube Giving eligibility and supported-location availability in Studio. If your channel is not eligible, use an approved external fundraising site and make the campaign destination and handling of proceeds clear. Review the current YouTube Giving FAQs and fundraising guidance.

The continuous stream is not producing one complete replay
Do not rely on a single archive for a broadcast that runs beyond YouTube’s stated under-12-hour automatic-archive condition. Break the event into shorter sessions if a complete replay is needed, and retain source files or a separate recording.
What continuous playback means for monetization
YouTube’s July 15, 2025 clarification renamed its “repetitious content” policy to “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content falls under that policy. That clarification concerns monetization eligibility; it does not say every looped livestream is automatically prohibited. Do not assume a repeated playlist will qualify for monetization. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
