To join an Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) multiplayer server, open the game, choose Multiplayer, open Server List, search for the exact server name or select one from the list, and choose Connect (or confirm the selection). If the server is private, enter the password supplied by its organizer and select Confirm.
Godlike.Host offers hosted Assetto Corsa servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
The same basic route applies on PC and console. On console, 505 Games places Server List in the lower-right area of the Multiplayer screen. The instructions below explain the complete join process, how public, competition and private-league servers differ, and what to check when a server your friend mentioned does not appear.

Join an ACC server in seven steps
- Start Assetto Corsa Competizione. Wait until the main menu is available.
- Select Multiplayer. This opens ACC’s online options rather than the single-player modes.
- Open Server List. On console, the option is in the lower-right area of the Multiplayer screen according to 505 Games’ support instructions.
- Find the server. Type the organizer’s exact server name into search, or browse the available entries. Server names are case-sensitive in practice because an extra space, punctuation mark or abbreviated word can make a search harder to recognize. A hosting walkthrough uses “ACC Server by Shockbyte” as an example of the name you might search for; your organizer’s name will be different.
- Select the result. Check that the entry is the intended session before joining. A similarly named server may have different rules, track or session state.
- Choose Connect (or select the on-screen confirmation control). ACC then attempts to enter the session.
- Enter a password if prompted. Private servers require the password provided by the organizer. Type it exactly, then select Confirm. Wait for the session to load; the available grid places, current session and rules are controlled by the server.
Joining does not require you to run a dedicated server. A player who only wants to race needs the ACC game client and access to the multiplayer menu; server administration is a separate task.
Finding the right server
Search by the exact name
Ask the organizer for the server’s current displayed name, not just a nickname. Administrators can change a name, and a search for an old name will not identify the running instance. Copy the spelling, spaces and punctuation as closely as possible. If search returns nothing, clear the search field and browse the full list to determine whether the name was changed or the server is temporarily absent.

Use the list when you do not have a name
The list lets you browse available sessions instead of joining a specific invitation. Read the entry’s visible details and select the one that matches your preferred track, conditions and race format. Public entries can be community-run or official Kunos servers, so the rules and session structure can vary from one listing to another.
Quick Join and personalized matches
ACC also provides a Quick Join option. Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games describe it as a way to “automatically connect” a player to the theoretical best match. Their support guidance says players can either use Quick Join or select one of the best matches in a highly personalized server list.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The recommendation system can weigh preferences such as night or rain races, latency and particular tracks. That means Quick Join may not select the same kind of session every time: your settings and the currently available servers influence the result. Use manual search when you must join a named private event; use Quick Join when the priority is getting into a suitable open session quickly.
Public, competition and private-league servers
ACC’s multiplayer choices are not interchangeable. The access method, eligibility rules and race format depend on the type of server you select.
| Server type | How you find it | What can control entry | Typical purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public Multiplayer | Browse or filter the server list, or use Quick Join | Open access, server capacity and any rule checks configured by the administrator | Community or official servers and quick races |
| Competition Servers | Use the competition area or a recommended match | Competition Rating and the resulting split or eligibility rules | More structured, serious or longer races |
| Private leagues | Search for the organizer’s server or follow league instructions | Password, invitation, league schedule and organizer rules | Organized championships, endurance events and driver-swap races |
Public Multiplayer
Public Multiplayer is the simplest route for an unscheduled race. You can browse community or official Kunos servers, filter the personalized list or press Quick Join. Even an open server can be full or already in a session that does not accept a new entrant, so availability can change while you are looking.

Competition Servers
Competition Servers target longer or more serious races. ACC uses Competition Rating to determine suitable splits. If a competition server does not accept you, the reason may be eligibility or rating placement rather than a bad password. Check the competition requirements shown by the game and make sure you are using the competition area rather than searching only the ordinary public list.
Private leagues
A private league normally follows an organizer’s own calendar, sporting rules and entry process. You may need a password, an invitation or instructions about a particular session. League events can use endurance formats or driver swaps, so the server’s session may not resemble a short public race. Obtain the organizer’s current name, password and start time before trying to connect.
Joining a private server on console
For a private console server, the essential sequence is:
- Open ACC and select Multiplayer.
- Select Server List in the lower-right area of the Multiplayer screen.
- Search for or select the private server’s exact name.
- Select the entry and choose the connection or confirmation command.
- When the password prompt appears, enter the password supplied by the organizer.
- Select Confirm and wait for the session to load.
Do not confuse the server password with a platform account password. The server password is created and distributed by the person or league running that session. If it has changed, only the organizer can provide the new value.
What happens after you select Connect
ACC must complete several checks before you reach the grid. The server may be loading a practice, qualifying or race session; it may have reached its grid capacity; and the organizer may have configured rules that affect who can enter. A successful selection therefore does not guarantee an immediate driving position.

- All racetracks are reproduced using laser scan
- Session state: You may arrive in practice, qualifying, a race or a transition between sessions.
- Grid capacity: A server can become full between the time you view it and the time you connect.
- Organizer rules: Passwords, league eligibility and other entry conditions are controlled by the server owner.
- Competition split: Competition Rating can determine which split is appropriate for you.
Remain on the loading screen long enough for the connection attempt to finish. If the attempt fails, return to the list and verify the checks in the troubleshooting section rather than repeatedly entering an old password.
Why you cannot see a friend’s ACC server
Start with the causes that can be checked from the game and the organizer’s message. The official joining instructions do not provide a complete, current error matrix for every platform, so these checks are a practical boundary rather than a promise of one universal fix.
1. The displayed name is different
Confirm the exact live name with the organizer. Ask whether the server was renamed, restarted with a default name or replaced by another instance. Clear any search text and browse the list once to see whether it appears under a different spelling.
2. The server is offline
A stopped or restarting instance cannot appear as an available destination. Ask the organizer whether it is currently running and whether the event has already ended. Server availability is separate from your ability to open ACC.
3. The server is full
Capacity can change quickly. A friend may see a listing while another player occupies the final place. Wait for an opening or ask whether the organizer has reserved the session for a particular group.

- Connect and compete. Join an international community of drivers to share race strategies, tuning tips, livery designs and photos, before taking to the track to go head-to-head.
4. The password is wrong
Private servers require the current password. Check for accidental spaces, changed capitalization and an older password copied from a previous event. Have the organizer send the value again rather than guessing.
5. It is a different multiplayer category
A competition server may be governed by Competition Rating, while a private league may be distributed through an organizer’s instructions. If you search only the ordinary public list, you may miss the relevant route or misunderstand an eligibility message.

6. The issue is platform or network-specific
If the name, status, capacity, password and server category are all correct but the entry still fails, treat the problem as a separate platform or network troubleshooting case. The published support material explains the normal join path but does not establish one fix that applies to every console, PC configuration or connection error. Record the exact message, platform and time, then consult current platform-specific support or the server administrator.

| Your goal | Best route | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Join a friend’s named private event | Server List search | You need to identify one exact server and enter its password if required. |
| Find any suitable public race quickly | Quick Join | ACC selects a theoretical best match from available sessions. |
| Choose a specific track or conditions | Personalized list or manual browsing | Preferences can weight tracks, night or rain races and latency. |
| Enter a rating-based serious event | Competition server area | Competition Rating and split rules can determine eligibility. |
| Follow a championship schedule | League organizer’s instructions | Private leagues set their own password, calendar, format and sporting rules. |
Joining is different from hosting
You do not need to create, start or monitor a dedicated server to join someone else’s ACC session. Hosting is an administrator workflow. The ACCWeb project documents server-instance creation and management, including starting and stopping instances, monitoring status, viewing logs and importing or exporting configuration files. Those tasks belong to the person operating the server, not to an invited driver.
If your aim is to run your own league, prepare the server first and distribute its final displayed name, password, schedule and rules. Drivers should then use the normal Multiplayer → Server List path. Mixing the host’s setup instructions with the player’s join instructions can lead to confusion about who is responsible for a missing listing or changed password.
A compact pre-race checklist
- Have the exact current server name.
- Know whether the session is public, competition-rated or private.
- Have the current private-server password, if one is required.
- Check whether the organizer says the server is online and whether places remain.
- Use Quick Join only when you do not need a particular named server.
- For a competition event, confirm that your Competition Rating and split requirements allow entry.
- For a league event, follow the organizer’s schedule and format instructions.
- If the server is still missing, note the platform and exact error before seeking platform-specific help.
Key points to remember
The ordinary join path is short: open Multiplayer, choose Server List, search or select the server, choose Connect, and enter the private password when prompted. Quick Join is for automatically finding a suitable available match, while manual search is the dependable method for a friend’s named server. Competition Rating can affect competition-server access, and private leagues can impose their own invitations, passwords and rules. Hosting, logs and server configuration are separate administrator duties.
