You can’t invite a Sanrio visitor directly into your personal cabin. Instead, repair and furnish an eligible Visitor Cabin for that character, wait for their travel window, then complete their requests until they reach five stars. At that point, you can ask them to move into the Visitor Cabin where they are staying.
What “home” means in the visitor system
Hello Kitty Island Adventure has separate spaces for your personal cabin, Island Visitor cabins, and multiplayer guests. Sanrio visitors use Visitor Cabins—not your personal cabin. Multiplayer friends can stay in an unoccupied repaired Visitor Cabin, but inviting a friend is a different feature from attracting a Sanrio character. The cabin types and friend-cabin rules are described separately.

How to get a Sanrio character to visit
- Unlock and repair Visitor Cabins. Progress through the game until Visitor Cabins are available; the Friends and Family quest is identified as the milestone for unlocking more cabins. Some visitors also depend on friendship, other quests, or a linked character already being present. See the getting-started guide for the visitor system.
- Check the character’s requirements in the Visitors menu. Requirements differ by visitor. They can include a particular region, a count of items with a specific tag, a named item, a linked resident, or a progression condition. Use the in-game checklist for the character you want rather than assuming one cabin setup works for everyone.
- Prepare an eligible, unoccupied Visitor Cabin. Repair a cabin in the required region, then furnish it with every item and quantity shown for that visitor. The official game site also describes cabin decorating as a way to bring new visitors to the island.
- Wait for the character’s travel window. Some visitors can arrive at any time, while others follow recurring or seasonal schedules. Meeting the cabin requirements makes the character eligible to visit; it does not guarantee an immediate arrival.
- Optionally add items with liked tags. Once the hard requirements are met, furnishing the cabin with items matching the visitor’s liked tags can improve their chance of visiting and raise the cabin’s displayed hearts. The available sources do not establish an exact arrival probability for a given heart level. The resident guide explains the distinction between requirements and liked items.
How to make a visitor move in permanently
- Complete the visitor’s Daily Quests while they are on the island. Their requests raise their star rating. The visitor system describes five occasions of completing Daily Quests as the route to five stars.
- Talk to the visitor at five stars. Choose the option to ask them to become a permanent resident. They will live in the Visitor Cabin where they are staying; some visitor quests require permanent residency before they can proceed. The move-resident instructions detail this step.
If the character is not arriving
- Confirm the cabin is in the character’s required region.
- Compare the cabin with every requirement in the Visitors menu, including item counts and named items.
- Check whether the character requires a linked resident, friendship level, or completed quest.
- Check whether the character is currently traveling; an eligible cabin does not override their schedule.
- After all required conditions are met, add items with liked tags if you want to improve the chance of a visit. Liked items do not substitute for missing requirements.
Once a visitor has become a five-star permanent resident, the cabin no longer needs to keep meeting that visitor’s original requirements. Their location may still be limited by regional rules. The resident rules explain this distinction.

Requirements and schedules are character-specific and can change with game updates. The Visitors menu is the practical final check before you furnish a cabin or wait for someone to arrive; avoid relying on a generic checklist for every Sanrio character.
