A Windows startup item that downloads scripts from a Beijing Myqcloud-related address is suspicious, but the name alone does not prove malware. The Malwarebytes Forums activity listing for “Startup auto download (JL DGT Software) – beijing myqcloud malware scripts” shows a topic with two replies, yet the original thread, logs and final diagnosis are not available from that indexed page. Treat this as an investigation: preserve the command, path, URL and file evidence before disabling or deleting anything.
What the forum title establishes—and what it does not
The exact title appears in a Malwarebytes Forums activity listing: Malwarebytes Forums activity page. It describes an unexplained Windows startup download, an identifier presented as “JL DGT Software,” and scripts associated with a Beijing Myqcloud-related host. The listing shows two replies, but it does not provide the original topic’s diagnostic logs or remediation outcome.

Consequently, there is no reliable basis to call JL DGT Software a virus, identify a particular file or registry key, or claim that the computer was fully compromised. “JL DGT Software” could be a product label, publisher string, folder name, task description, misleading malware name, or an unwanted bundled application. The full path, signature, hash, command line and behavior matter more than the displayed name.
Why an automatic download deserves investigation
“Startup auto download” generally means that something launches when Windows starts or a user signs in, then retrieves an executable, script, configuration file or update. Windows can start software from several persistence locations:

Automatic downloading is not, by itself, proof of maliciousness. Legitimate updaters use cloud storage too. Conversely, an attacker can abuse ordinary object-storage infrastructure to deliver a payload. Assess the exact hostname and path, downloaded file type, signer, hash, parent process and timing rather than judging a domain by its country or language.
Why scripts are harder to spot
A persistence entry may launch an interpreter instead of a suspiciously named executable. Examples include powershell.exe with hidden or encoded arguments, wscript.exe or cscript.exe opening a script, and cmd.exe /c invoking a batch file. A scheduled task can run such a command at logon under a user account while the visible startup list appears clean. Never run an unknown script to discover what it does.
Preserve evidence before changing the system
Record the following while the alert or startup item is still visible:
- The exact item name and complete command line.
- The executable or script’s full path, including drive letter.
- The complete URL, hostname and download timestamp, if shown.
- The security product’s detection name and event time.
- Any associated task name, service name or registry value.
- File creation and modification dates, size and SHA-256 hash.
- Screenshots or an exported task/registry entry.
Do not open the downloaded file, run it, or repeatedly reboot while an unknown script may still be active. If logs contain personal information, review them before sharing publicly.
Inspect Windows persistence locations
Startup apps and folders
- Open Task Manager → Startup apps and record the item, publisher and status. In Windows Settings, also check Settings → Apps → Startup.
- In File Explorer, inspect the current-user folder
%APPDATA%MicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup. - Inspect the all-users folder
%ProgramData%MicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartUp.
Disabling an entry is a low-risk containment step, but it does not remove a scheduled task, service or other persistence mechanism.
Scheduled Tasks and services
Open Task Scheduler and review tasks triggered at logon, startup or on a recurring short interval. Check the Actions tab for the exact executable, interpreter and arguments. In Services, look for recently created or unknown services and record their executable paths before changing anything. A deleted payload can reappear if one of these mechanisms remains.
Registry Run keys
Export relevant keys before editing them, then inspect:

32-bit and 64-bit Windows can expose redirected registry locations, so these four keys are not necessarily a complete inventory. Avoid deleting values until you know which installed program owns them.
Evaluate the file instead of its name
- Right-click the file and choose Properties.
- Review Digital Signatures; confirm the signer and whether Windows reports a valid signature.
- Check the location, description, version information and publisher consistency.
- Calculate a SHA-256 hash and submit it only to a trusted analysis service or support channel when appropriate.
A valid signature supports legitimacy but is not a guarantee: legitimate software can be compromised, and unsigned utilities are not automatically malicious. Increase suspicion when a file resides in %TEMP%, a random AppData directory or a download folder; uses hidden or encoded PowerShell; was created recently without your knowledge; returns after deletion; or contacts several unrelated domains.
Evidence supporting legitimacy includes a known vendor directory, recognizable valid signer, expected software installation, documented update endpoint, normal versioning and an uninstall entry. A Myqcloud-related hostname is neither automatically safe nor automatically dangerous; the exact URL and downloaded object must be assessed.

Use current tools from their official sources:
- Microsoft Defender: run a full scan; use Microsoft Defender Offline when the item may start before normal Windows operation.
- Malwarebytes: run a Threat Scan and review detections before choosing quarantine.
- Malwarebytes AdwCleaner: useful when bundled software, browser hijacking or potentially unwanted programs are suspected, but not a complete incident investigation.
Quarantine is generally safer than immediate manual deletion because it preserves a recovery path, although it can break legitimate software. Reboot once containment is applied, then rescan and recheck the persistence locations. Do not install multiple real-time antivirus products simultaneously.
When to seek expert help
Use the Malwarebytes support portal or Malwarebytes forums to obtain current support instructions and submit diagnostic logs. The Support Tool can help package product and system information, but using it does not itself prove infection.
Get professional or organizational IT assistance when the item persists after quarantine, unknown administrator accounts appear, security settings change unexpectedly, rootkit activity is suspected, the machine contains business or financial data, or you cannot interpret the command safely. On a managed computer, do not remove an enterprise agent or deployment task without approval.
What not to do
- Do not delete a startup value or file before recording its path and owner.
- Do not copy an unrelated FRST fix, registry deletion or PowerShell command from a forum case.
- Do not permanently disable Defender, SmartScreen or other security controls.
- Do not assume a Chinese-language name is malicious or that cloud hosting makes a file trustworthy.
- Do not use registry cleaners or generic “PC repair” tools as a first response.
- Do not download random cleanup utilities from search advertisements.
How to verify that cleanup worked
A disappearing alert is not enough. After remediation:
- Restart Windows and confirm the startup item does not return.
- Reopen Task Scheduler, Services, Startup folders and Run keys to verify the persistence mechanism is gone or belongs to verified software.
- Run fresh Defender and Malwarebytes scans.
- Confirm that unexplained downloads, redirects, pop-ups and processes have stopped.
- Check that the suspicious URL is no longer contacted.
- Review for new administrator accounts or unexpected security-setting changes.
- Update Windows and third-party software.
If the computer handled banking, work credentials or sensitive data while compromise was plausible, change passwords from a known-clean device, enable multifactor authentication and review account activity. A dead URL can reflect takedown, expiration or rotation; it does not prove the original download was harmless.

Bottom-line assessment of the JL DGT and Myqcloud case
The available forum listing supports describing this as a suspicious startup/download investigation, not as a confirmed malware family. Determine what “JL DGT Software” means on the affected machine by collecting the full command, path, signature, hash and network context. Contain with reputable scanners, remove the actual persistence mechanism rather than only its payload, and reserve custom FRST fixes or manual registry work for a qualified analyst who has examined that specific computer.
