Install Iztek in two separate parts: the map mod and its mission files. In your host’s Workshop panel, install CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek. Then download the mission archive, upload its empty.Iztek folder to mpmissions, rename it dayzOffline.Iztek, and set template="dayzOffline.Iztek" inside class Missions in serverDZ.cfg. The folder name and template value must match character for character before you restart the server.

What you need before installing Iztek
Iztek is not installed by adding only a Workshop item. A working server needs the map modification, its listed framework dependencies, and a separate mission-file package. The mission tells the DayZ server which world files, spawns, economy settings, and other map-specific data to load.

The exact three-mod requirement comes from the Iztek installation procedure published by Servers4Gamers on December 9, 2024. Mod names, dependencies, repository layouts, and control-panel labels can change, so check the live Workshop description and mission repository immediately before deployment. No universal Iztek version matrix or host-compatibility guarantee is established; treat the current creator instructions as authoritative when they differ from an older panel guide.
Choose the installation route
The file layout is the same on every server, but the way you obtain and edit files depends on whether your host manages DayZ through a control panel or gives you direct SFTP access.

Some panels expose a startup field called Additional Mods. In that case, enter Iztek’s Workshop ID as the panel requires, start the server once so it downloads the mod and creates its expected directories, stop it, and then set the mission template. If a panel can install all three mods from its Workshop tab, use that method instead.
Install Iztek through a managed hosting panel
1. Stop unnecessary automatic restarts
Open the DayZ server control panel and locate its Workshop or mod-management page. If the panel offers “restart after install” for each item, disable that option temporarily. Installing CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek in one batch avoids three separate boot cycles and prevents the server from starting while only part of the dependency chain is present.
2. Install the three required modifications
- Open the panel’s Workshop tab.
- Install CF.
- Install Dabs Framework.
- Install Iztek.
- Confirm that all three appear as enabled in the panel’s mod list or launch configuration.
Do not assume that downloading the map automatically installs its frameworks. A map can appear in the Workshop list while the server still fails at startup because a dependency is absent or disabled. If the panel asks for a Workshop ID rather than a name, use the ID shown by the current Iztek Workshop entry; do not guess an ID from an old tutorial.
3. Open the server configuration
Use the panel’s file manager or SFTP connection to open serverDZ.cfg. Make a backup copy before editing. Locate the class Missions block. It normally contains a mission template line similar to this:

template="dayzOffline.Iztek"Keep the quotation marks and semicolon used by your existing configuration. The value is case-sensitive in practice because it must resolve to the exact mission directory name. Do not add a file extension, a leading slash, or the GitHub repository name.
4. Download the separate mission files
Open the Iztek mission repository linked by the map creator, identified in the installation guide as ItsZarge/IztekMissionFiles. Download the repository archive or the release package offered there. Extract it on your computer first so you can inspect the folder structure before uploading.
The package contains an empty.Iztek directory. “Empty” describes the supplied mission variant; it does not mean the directory can be omitted. Upload every file and subdirectory inside that folder. Uploading only the outer archive, or only one visible configuration file, leaves the server without the terrain-specific mission data it needs.
5. Upload and rename the mission folder
- Stop the DayZ server before replacing mission files.
- Open the server’s
mpmissionsdirectory. - Upload the extracted
empty.Iztekfolder. - Rename that folder to
dayzOffline.Iztek. - Verify the final path is exactly
mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek.
There should not be an extra nesting level such as mpmissions/IztekMissionFiles/empty.Iztek or mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek/empty.Iztek. Open the renamed directory and check that the mission files are directly inside it.

6. Copy supplied keys when applicable
If the map package includes one or more .bikey files, copy them into the server’s keys directory. The key step is conditional: do not invent keys or copy unrelated files from another mod. A missing key can produce signature or verification errors even when the mission template is correct.
7. Restart once and watch the boot
Save serverDZ.cfg, start the server, and wait for the boot process to finish. The first launch can take longer while Workshop content is downloaded or indexed. Watch the panel’s console and startup log rather than repeatedly clicking restart. A successful boot should progress past mission initialization without a missing-template, dependency, path, or signature error.
Installing on a self-managed or SFTP server
Direct file access does not change the required names. It changes who performs the download, transfer, and launch configuration.
- Stop the DayZ service and make a dated backup of
serverDZ.cfg, the currentmpmissionsfolder, and thekeysdirectory. - Install or update CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek using the server’s normal Workshop download or mod deployment method.
- Transfer the extracted Iztek mission folder with SFTP, WinSCP, FileZilla, or your host’s equivalent file-transfer tool.
- Place the folder at
mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek; do not leave it under a temporary extraction directory. - Copy only map-supplied
.bikeyfiles tokeys. - Edit
serverDZ.cfgand settemplate="dayzOffline.Iztek"insideclass Missions. - Save the file, check that your editor did not change quotation marks or line endings in a way your server rejects, and start the service.
- Read the startup log until mission loading completes or an explicit error identifies the next fix.
When a graphical file-transfer client cannot upload a folder recursively, create mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek first and transfer the folder’s contents into it. Verify hidden files and nested directories after the transfer; a visually successful upload can still omit files when a client skips unsupported entries.

Verify the installation before inviting players
Use this order so a basic naming error is eliminated before you investigate mods or gameplay settings.

- Server state: The server was stopped while files and configuration were replaced.
- Mod list: CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek are all installed and enabled, not merely downloaded.
- Mission path: The directory is exactly
mpmissions/dayzOffline.Iztek. - Template: The
class Missionsentry contains exactlytemplate="dayzOffline.Iztek". - Contents: The extracted mission files are directly inside the renamed folder, with no extra archive or parent directory.
- Keys: Any
.bikeysupplied with the map is inkeys. - Logs: Startup output contains no dependency, path, signature, or mission-template error.
Only after these checks pass should you add unrelated gameplay mods or change economy files. Extra changes make it harder to identify whether Iztek itself loaded.

When the names look correct
Use the startup log to determine whether the failure occurs before mission selection, while loading a dependency, or while reading mission files. Search for the first error, not the last cascade of warnings. If the first error names a missing path, inspect the server’s actual root directory; some hosts expose a file-manager root that differs from the directory used by the DayZ executable.
When an update breaks a previously working server
Stop the server and record the installed mod versions, the date of the last successful boot, and the first new log error. Recheck the live Iztek Workshop description and ItsZarge/IztekMissionFiles repository for a changed mission layout or dependency. Restore the backed-up mission folder and configuration if you need to bring the server online while investigating, then update the map, dependencies, and mission package as a consistent set rather than mixing files from different releases.
Client requirements and practical launch checks
Players must have the Iztek map and its required client-side dependencies enabled in their DayZ launcher or mod manager. A server can start successfully while a player is rejected because the client lacks the map, uses a different build, or fails signature verification. Have one administrator connect first and confirm that the server lists Iztek as the active terrain before opening it to the full community.

Keep the server’s Workshop configuration, mission folder, and keys together in your deployment notes. Record the exact template string, the repository revision or archive date you used, and a backup location. This makes a later host migration or rollback deterministic instead of relying on a remembered folder name.
Maintenance after the first successful boot
Apply updates as a coordinated change
Map updates can require new mission files or dependency versions. Read the current creator instructions before replacing only one component. Stop the server, back up the existing mission and configuration, update the Workshop entries, replace the mission folder if the repository changed, and start once while watching logs.
Protect custom changes
If you later edit loot, spawns, or other files inside dayzOffline.Iztek, keep those changes in a separate backup or version-controlled copy. A fresh mission download can overwrite them. Compare the new package with your customized copy and merge deliberately instead of copying an old folder over a new one.
Plan a rollback
A rollback consists of restoring the previously working mod build where your host supports it, putting back the matching mission folder, restoring the saved serverDZ.cfg, and restarting with the server stopped during every replacement. Do not combine an older mission with a newer map package unless the creator explicitly says that combination is supported.
Installation checklist
- Back up

The decisive detail is the exact match between the mission directory and the template value. If both read dayzOffline.Iztek, the complete mission contents are present, and CF, Dabs Framework, and Iztek are enabled, most installation failures can be narrowed quickly through the startup log rather than by changing unrelated server settings.
