On your LG TV, press Home, open Apps (or LG Content Store on some older interfaces), search for Apple TV, and choose Install. When installation finishes, select Launch and sign in with your Apple Account. The app is not available on every LG television: support depends on the TV model and country.
Install Apple TV from the LG app store
- Connect the television to the internet, then press Home on the LG remote.
- Open Apps or LG Apps. On some older webOS interfaces, open LG Content Store instead.
- Choose the store’s search function, enter Apple TV, and run the search.
- Select the Apple TV app in the results and choose Install. Wait for the download and installation to finish.
- Choose Launch, then sign in with your Apple Account and follow the on-screen setup.
LG documents this sequence for webOS 22 and a similar flow for webOS 5.0, though individual menus can differ from standard-model instructions. Apple’s setup guidance likewise directs LG smart-TV users to find the app through Search or Apps and install it. LG support · Apple Support

Check whether your particular LG TV is supported
Do not assume that every LG Smart TV has the app. LG says supported apps can vary by country and smart TV model. Search the LG Content Store using your country and exact model name, then check the listed supported webOS versions. That store listing is the relevant check for your set and location. Apple TV app and Apple TV+ are different
Apple TV is the app you install. It provides access to Apple’s video services and content; Apple TV+ is a subscription service accessed through the app. Installing the app does not itself establish a subscription or guarantee access to subscription content.
What to check if Apple TV is missing or will not install
Work through the checks below before resetting the television. LG’s settings names and paths differ between webOS versions, so use the instructions for your TV’s version rather than treating one menu path as universal.

- Sign in to an LG Account. LG notes that some apps cannot be installed or used without an account.
- Check the connection. Confirm the TV is online and that its wired or Wi-Fi connection is stable enough to download an app.
- Check LG Services Country. Set it to your actual location. App availability can be tied to the country where the TV was sold, and an incorrect country setting may block downloads.
- Accept required user agreements. Some apps will not work until the applicable agreements are accepted.
- Free storage if needed. If the TV has run out of space, remove unused apps and try the installation again.
- Verify model and country support. Search the LG Content Store using the correct country and exact model; the app may not be offered for that combination.
If these checks do not help, LG documents a TV reset as a later troubleshooting option. A reset removes account settings and installed apps, so use it only after the simpler checks and be prepared to set the TV up again. LG troubleshooting guidance
Use another supported device if the LG app is unavailable
If the app is not listed for your LG model and region, a compatible streaming device is one possible way to access the Apple TV app on the television. Check the exact device’s compatibility and available features before buying; the LG Content Store check should come first.
