A check reports what Samsung and the carrier make available to that particular device at that time. A missing offer does not, by itself, prove that the A57 is ineligible. Availability can depend on the device, carrier and network, and Samsung may not release every variant simultaneously.

- Install and open Smart Switch on a Windows PC or Mac.
- Connect the Galaxy A57 to the computer with a USB cable.
- Wait for Smart Switch to identify the phone.

Look under Settings > Software update. The action may read Check for updates, Download and install, Check for system updates or Check for software updates. These labels can vary by software version and carrier while serving the same update-check function.
Wi-Fi is required
Some carriers require Wi-Fi for checking or installing updates. Connect to a Wi-Fi network and repeat the check from the Software update screen. If the phone still does not offer the package, use official local Samsung or carrier support for the device’s market.
The computer method shows no update
Smart Switch only provides an Update command when it has a package for the connected phone. Keep the USB connection intact during an update, but do not infer a universal eligibility decision from the absence of that button.

When to contact Samsung or your carrier
