To install Hao’s Special Works (HSW) upgrades, take an HSW-capable personal vehicle to Hao’s Special Works at the LS Car Meet and choose from the options shown for that vehicle. HSW is not available for every car. The documented access rules also depend on your platform and, for some workshop locations, GTA+ membership.
Check your platform and game edition
Rockstar’s update notes identify HSW upgrades on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Later notes also identify HSW-capable vehicle content for GTAV Enhanced PC; that does not establish HSW support for every PC edition. Check that you are playing a supported version before looking for the service. Rockstar’s Title Update 1.64 notes and Title Update 1.72 notes describe the relevant platforms and content.

Use an HSW-capable vehicle
HSW upgrades are vehicle-specific, not a universal mod-shop option. Rockstar’s update notes name the Benefactor Stirling GT, Överflöd Entity MT, Bravado Banshee GTS and Vapid Firebolt ASP among HSW-capable vehicles. These are examples, not a complete compatibility list; eligibility can vary by vehicle and update. The options displayed for your car in the service are the practical check.

Install the upgrades at Hao’s Special Works
- Bring your HSW-capable personal vehicle to the LS Car Meet.
- Enter Hao’s Special Works and open its vehicle-modification service.
- Review the HSW options available for that vehicle and purchase the upgrades you want.
Rockstar’s notes establish the service location and access, but do not provide a current button-by-button walkthrough, a complete list of upgrade categories, or current prices. Use the in-game menu for the available options and costs for your specific vehicle.

Do you need to complete Hao’s Intro Race?
On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, no. Rockstar’s Title Update 1.64 notes say: “Players no longer need to complete Hao’s Intro Race to access the HSW Upgrade Service and mods.” That statement is explicitly limited to those consoles; the cited note does not extend the same rule to every platform.

If HSW upgrades are missing
- Check the vehicle: confirm it is HSW-capable. Ordinary vehicle-modification access does not mean that car supports HSW.
- Check the platform and edition: the cited Rockstar notes establish console support for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and later HSW-capable content for GTAV Enhanced PC—not every PC edition.
- Check the location and membership: The Vinewood Club Garage and mansion workshop routes have GTA+ conditions; the mansion route also requires the Vehicle Workshop upgrade.
- Check the vehicle’s in-game menu: Rockstar’s cited notes do not publish a complete current eligibility list or universal HSW price list, so the service’s options for the selected car are the reliable guide.
