Install the official DAZN app from your television’s app store, sign in or create a DAZN account, choose an available Cavaliers plan, and open the Cavaliers section to watch. DAZN’s 2026–27 agreement makes it the direct-to-fan home for Cavaliers preseason games, regular-season games that are not selected exclusively for national broadcast, and team-produced programming. The announcement also includes 15 games that viewers can watch free.
The steps below cover supported televisions, add-on streaming devices, plan choices, game availability, and fixes for the most common installation and playback problems.

Check compatibility before installing
DAZN says it works with most major smart-TV brands, including Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, Hisense, Philips and televisions running Android TV. Compatibility still depends on the model year and operating-system version. A television can carry a supported brand name yet lack the software required by the current app.
Minimum device requirements listed by the NBA Help Center

Older game-console editions may not be compatible. If the TV’s store does not return an official DAZN listing after the operating system is current, treat that as a compatibility warning rather than repeatedly attempting the installation.

Prepare the television
- Connect the TV or streaming device to the internet and confirm that another streaming app can load.
- Install pending television or streaming-device software updates. The NBA Help Center recommends the latest operating system and the latest app version for the best performance.
- Have the email address and payment method you intend to use for DAZN ready. An existing DAZN subscriber can sign in instead of creating another account.
- Make sure the TV is connected to the same home network you normally use for streaming. This matters particularly when a plan limits simultaneous viewing to one location.
Install DAZN from a smart TV’s app store
- Open the television’s app store. On Samsung, use Samsung Apps; on LG, open the LG Content Store; on Android TV, open Google Play; and on other televisions, open the manufacturer’s equivalent store.
- Search for “DAZN.” Select the official DAZN application. Do not install an unrelated sports application with a similar name.
- Choose Install, Get or Add. The wording varies by television. Wait for the download and installation to finish before launching the app.
- Open DAZN. The app normally appears in the TV’s app list or home-screen launcher after installation. Move it to a visible position if your television supports app rearrangement.
- Sign in or create an account. Use the account already associated with your DAZN subscription, or follow the on-screen account-creation flow and select a Cavaliers option when prompted.
- Complete the subscription step. Review the plan name, billing interval and stream allowances before confirming payment. Members who qualify for a complimentary subscription through a full-season or half-season Cavs United or Foundation membership should use the redemption instructions supplied with that membership.
- Open the Cavaliers area. Use DAZN’s search function or the dedicated Cavaliers section to locate a live event, replay, highlights or team programming.
If the application opens but cannot authenticate, first verify that the email address belongs to the account that holds the subscription. Signing in with a second account can make a paid subscription appear to be missing.
Find a Cavaliers game after signing in
Use search for a specific matchup
Search for “Cavaliers” or the opponent’s name. A listing marked live is the current broadcast; completed events can appear as replays. Search results may also include highlights and Cavaliers-produced shows, so check the event date and live status before selecting Play.
Use the team area
The Cavaliers area groups upcoming events, available replays, highlights and original programming in one place. Open an upcoming event to see its scheduled start time, then return to the same listing when the broadcast begins.

Understand which games DAZN carries
The Cavaliers and DAZN announcement dated September 1, 2026 says that, beginning with the 2026–27 NBA season, DAZN streams all Cavaliers regular-season games that are not selected exclusively for national broadcast. It also includes preseason contests and team-produced original programming. A nationally selected game therefore may not appear in the local DAZN Cavaliers inventory, even when the app and subscription are working normally. The same announcement identifies 15 games available free; availability is determined by the published Cavaliers schedule and DAZN’s presentation of those events.

Monthly or season billing
A monthly pass is suited to viewers who want a shorter commitment or expect to watch only part of the season. A season pass provides access across the season under the published annual billing structure. Compare the total period you expect to watch, not just the first charge, and check the renewal terms shown during checkout.
Standard or Ultimate
The standard tiers cover the core stream and downloads. Ultimate tiers are aimed at households or viewing setups that need more simultaneous access, two locations, multiview or alternate feeds. Choose the higher tier only if those capabilities match how your household watches; the extra features do not change which games are excluded because of a national broadcast selection.

DAZN lists Amazon Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube, Apple TV and Chromecast among its supported devices. A supported add-on device is usually the quickest solution when the built-in television software is too old or the manufacturer’s store does not offer DAZN.

Use an Amazon Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube
- Connect the Fire TV device to an available HDMI port and its power supply.
- Switch the television to that HDMI input and connect the device to your home Wi-Fi.
- Open the Fire TV app store, search for DAZN and install the official application.
- Launch DAZN, sign in with the account holding your Cavaliers subscription and open the Cavaliers section.
For the clearest compatibility path, use a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick meeting the NBA Help Center’s generation and Fire OS requirements in the table above. A newer device can also avoid the limitations of an unsupported built-in TV app.
Use Apple TV
- Connect Apple TV to HDMI and power, then complete the on-screen network setup.
- Open the tvOS App Store and search for DAZN.
- Install the official app, open it and sign in.
- Use DAZN search or the Cavaliers area to select the game or replay.
Apple TV must run tvOS 17 or later according to the NBA Help Center’s current requirements.
Use Chromecast
- Connect the Chromecast to HDMI and power, then finish its network setup.
- Install the current DAZN application on a compatible mobile device or computer that can control the Chromecast.
- Sign in to DAZN, select the Cavaliers event and choose the Chromecast destination shown by the app.
- Leave the Chromecast and controlling device connected to the same home network while you start playback.
The exact casting controls can vary by Chromecast generation and the device used to control it. If DAZN does not offer a cast destination, update both the DAZN app and the Chromecast software before trying again.
Troubleshoot installation and playback
The app does not appear in the store
- Check the television model or streaming-device generation against the compatibility table.
- Install the newest operating-system update, restart the device and search again.
- Confirm that the device’s store region and account region are set to a market where the Cavaliers DAZN service is offered. Store catalogs can differ by region.
- If the app remains unavailable, use a supported Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, Apple TV or Chromecast rather than attempting to sideload an unverified package.
Installation stops or the app will not open
Verify the internet connection by opening another service, then retry the download. Restart the television or streaming device and the home router if the connection is intermittent. Check for a second app or system update after the restart; the NBA Help Center specifically advises keeping both the operating system and app current. If the store reports that the device is unsupported, an update cannot make an older model meet a stated generation requirement, so an add-on device is the practical fix.

You can sign in but cannot see the Cavaliers subscription
Sign out and re-enter the email address used at checkout. If multiple household members have DAZN accounts, confirm which account received the subscription confirmation. A complimentary Cavs United or Foundation membership subscription must be redeemed through the membership’s instructions; simply signing in with an unrelated DAZN account will not attach that benefit.
A game is missing from the Cavaliers page
Check whether the event is a preseason contest, a regular-season game not selected for national broadcast, a replay or a team-produced program. The published agreement does not promise that games selected exclusively for national broadcast will be in the DAZN Cavaliers inventory. A missing nationally selected game is therefore a rights issue, not proof that your television installation failed.
Playback stops because another device is watching
Open the account’s active sessions and stop playback on devices that are no longer in use, then try again. Stay within the simultaneous-stream and location allowance of the plan shown at checkout. Upgrading changes the number of permitted streams and locations only when the selected tier explicitly includes that capability.

Video quality is unstable
- Use the television’s network test, if available, and move a Wi-Fi router or streaming device closer to reduce signal obstruction.
- Pause other large downloads or streams on the home network while the game is live.
- Restart the app rather than repeatedly pressing Play if the stream is stuck.
- Install any pending DAZN and device updates before the next game.
- When possible, connect a streaming device by Ethernet or use a less congested Wi-Fi band.
These steps address local network and software causes. If other apps work normally but a DAZN event alone fails, record the event name and error message before contacting DAZN support.

Device-specific checks
Samsung
Use Samsung Apps and verify that the television is from 2018 or later. If search results are empty, update the TV software, reboot and search again. A Samsung model outside the stated generation range may require an external streaming device.
LG, Sony, Panasonic, Hisense and Philips
DAZN names these brands among its major smart-TV compatibility group, but the precise model and operating system still determine whether the app is offered. Look for the latest manufacturer update and the official DAZN listing in the TV’s own store. If the listing is absent after updating, use a supported add-on device.
Android TV
Open Google Play on the television and check that Android TV OS is version 7 or later. Update the operating system and the DAZN app before testing playback. Android-based televisions can use different manufacturer interfaces, so the menu names may not exactly match Google’s reference layout.

Check that the Roku is fifth generation or newer, update Roku OS, then search the channel store for DAZN. If the channel cannot be installed, verify the Roku generation rather than assuming the television’s age determines compatibility.
Prepare for game night
- Install DAZN and sign in at least one day before the game.
- Open the Cavaliers page and confirm that the event appears in the schedule.
- Update the TV, streaming device and DAZN app while you still have time to restart them.
- Test the account on the television you plan to use and stop playback on unused devices.
- Keep a supported Fire TV Stick, Apple TV or Chromecast option in mind if the built-in app becomes unavailable after a television update.
- For a nationally selected game, check the broadcaster identified in the current NBA or Cavaliers schedule instead of waiting for a DAZN listing.
Bottom line
For a compatible smart TV, the process is simply: update the TV, install the official DAZN app from its app store, sign in, select the appropriate 2026 Cavaliers plan and open the Cavaliers area. DAZN’s 2026–27 arrangement covers the qualifying regular-season inventory, preseason games and Cavaliers-produced programming, while nationally exclusive games remain outside that DAZN inventory. When the built-in app is unavailable, a supported Fire TV device, Apple TV or Chromecast provides the most direct alternative.
