Addons are normally distributed as compressed archives. You must extract the archive before WoW can read the addon files. A common mistake is to copy the downloaded package itself into AddOns, leaving the actual addon one folder deeper than the game expects.
Choose a download source without assuming a security guarantee

Use your operating system’s archive extraction command or utility. Extract to a temporary location where you can inspect the result. Do not leave the addon compressed, and do not assume the first folder you see is the folder WoW should load.

5. Copy the actual addon folders
Open the extracted contents and find the directories that contain the addon files. Copy those directories directly into:
_classic_era_/Interface/AddOnsSome archives contain more than one addon directory. Copy each required directory separately. Preserve the folder names supplied by the addon author unless the author’s instructions explicitly say otherwise.
6. Check the folder shape before launching
The folder directly under AddOns should be the addon directory itself. A correct layout looks like this:

_classic_era_/Interface/AddOns/DownloadedArchive/ExampleAddon/In the second example, move ExampleAddon up one level so that it sits directly in AddOns. If the extracted package contains several addon folders, move all of those actual folders up, not the enclosing download folder.
7. Launch Classic Era and inspect the addon list
Start the intended Classic Era client after the files are in place. Open the character-selection or in-game addon menu available for that client and look for the addon name. Why Classic WoW addons are not showing
You used the wrong client directory
This is the first check because every WoW version has a separate addon directory. A package placed in Retail or another Classic client’s Interface/AddOns folder will not necessarily load in Classic Era. Reopen the launcher or installation location you actually use, find _classic_era_, and repeat the path check from there.
The archive is still compressed
WoW does not load an archive merely because it is inside AddOns. Extract it, open the extracted location, and copy the real addon directories.
An extra folder is hiding the addon
Look at the first level beneath AddOns. If you see a package name and must open it to reach the addon directory, the addon is nested too deeply. Move the inner addon directory up one level.

When an archive contains one addon, the extracted directory should be moved into AddOns. When it contains several components, each component directory belongs at that same level. Do not flatten the contents by scattering individual files directly into AddOns; keep the directory supplied by the author intact. Conversely, do not leave the whole download directory there when it merely contains the real addon directory one level deeper.
A simple visual check is often enough: open _classic_era_/Interface/AddOns and ask whether the first folders you see are recognizable addon names. If the only first-level folder is the name of the downloaded archive, open it. If the actual addon is inside, move that inner folder up one level.
