Is Valor Mortis on Xbox Game Pass?
Yes. Xbox Wire names Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as the tiers that include Valor Mortis on October 13, 2026. That means an eligible subscriber does not need to buy the separate game license while the title remains in that account’s Game Pass catalog.

When did Valor Mortis release?
The current launch date is October 13, 2026. The publisher’s October 9 launch announcement replaced an earlier June announcement that had listed September 24, 2026. If you saw the September date in an older article, trailer, or social post, use October 13 as the superseding date.
Lyrical Games gave the following simultaneous release time:
- 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time
- 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time
- 5:00 p.m. UTC
The times describe the announced launch moment, not a guarantee that a particular store, region, or cloud endpoint will make the game playable at exactly the same second. If the listing is not available at that time, refresh the relevant Xbox or Microsoft interface and check the title’s status.
What you need before installing
An eligible account
Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns your Game Pass subscription. The entitlement follows that account; searching while signed out, or while using a different account on a shared device, can show a purchase option instead of an install or play control.

The right subscription tier
Ultimate and PC Game Pass are the tiers specifically identified for launch access. A plan not named by Xbox Wire may have a different catalog. Check the live Valor Mortis product page rather than relying on a general list of Game Pass benefits.
A supported play route
Choose one of the routes that matches your hardware:
- Xbox Series X|S: local console installation.
- Windows PC: local installation through the Xbox app or Microsoft Store.
- Cloud: streaming through Xbox’s cloud-play interface when the title is enabled for your device and account.
- Handheld: an official availability category, but the announcement does not identify every handheld model or the account and regional conditions for each one.
Current catalog status
Game Pass catalogs are not permanent. A title can be added, removed, or restricted by territory or plan. If you are reading this after launch, search for Valor Mortis in your own signed-in catalog before making installation or purchase decisions.
Install Valor Mortis on Xbox Series X|S
These steps follow the general navigation confirmed by the Xbox listing. Labels can vary slightly with the console’s current dashboard version.

- Turn on the Xbox Series X or Series S and sign in to the Microsoft account with the eligible Game Pass subscription.
- Open the Xbox Store or the console’s Game Pass section.
- Use search and enter
Valor Mortis. Select the game listing, not a similarly named result or an add-on. - Review the listing’s access state. An eligible account should show an install or play control rather than requiring a separate purchase.
- Select Install and choose the console or storage location offered by the interface.
- Wait for the download and installation to complete, then launch the game from the listing or from your installed-games library.
If the listing only offers a purchase, first confirm that the console is online and that the signed-in account has Ultimate. If your subscription is PC Game Pass, it is not the console tier named for Xbox Series X|S access; use the plan shown in the live listing as your guide.
Install Valor Mortis on a Windows PC
PC Game Pass is one of the two tiers explicitly named for Valor Mortis. You can begin in either the Xbox app or Microsoft Store.
- Sign in to the Xbox app or Microsoft Store with the Microsoft account that has PC Game Pass.
- Search for
Valor Mortisand open the main game listing. - Check that the page recognizes your subscription. If it shows only a purchase option, verify the account and the current catalog entry before paying.
- Choose the displayed Install control and accept the location or permissions requested by Windows.
- Let the download and installation finish in the app you selected. Keep that app open if it is showing an active progress state.
- Launch the game from the listing or your installed-games library.
The announcement does not state a download size, minimum PC specification, supported Windows version, resolution target, frame rate, or controller requirement. Do not infer those details from the Game Pass listing; use the current store page or the publisher’s technical documentation if you need them.

Play through Xbox Cloud
Xbox Wire includes Cloud among Valor Mortis’s availability categories. The announcement does not specify every supported phone, tablet, browser, handheld, country, network condition, or account combination, so cloud access must be checked in real time.

- BOLD STYLE, BUILT TO PERFORM — Define your swagger with a wild, head-turning design. Stay elegantly on target with textured triggers built for every moment.

- PLAY ACROSS EVERY SCREEN — Quickly pair with, play on, and switch between devices including console and PC. Stream games across mobile, gaming handhelds, Smart TVs, and supported VR headsets with XBOX Cloud Gaming.
- Sign in to Xbox’s current cloud-play interface with the account that has the applicable Game Pass entitlement.
- Search for
Valor Mortisin the cloud catalog. - If the title appears with a play control, review any device or region notice shown by the interface and start the session.
- If it is absent or unavailable, do not assume that the game has been removed globally. The result can reflect your device, location, account, subscription, or the current cloud catalog.
Cloud availability is separate from the existence of a console or PC listing. A game can be downloadable on one platform while cloud play is unavailable for a particular account or location. Xbox’s announcement does not provide a performance, resolution, input-latency, or network benchmark for Valor Mortis, so those characteristics should not be promised.
Choosing between Xbox, PC, and Cloud
| Where you play | Access action | What is established | What remains account- or setup-dependent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series X|S | Find the listing in Xbox Store or Game Pass and install. | Xbox Series X|S is an official availability category; Ultimate is the named console-capable tier. | Storage space, download time, local settings, and any current regional restrictions. |
| Windows PC | Find the listing in the Xbox app or Microsoft Store and install. | PC is an official category; PC Game Pass is a named launch tier. | PC hardware, Windows configuration, storage, drivers, and the current app experience. |
| Cloud | Search the cloud-play interface and use its play control when offered. | Cloud is listed by Xbox. | Supported device, region, network, account, subscription, queue, and live cloud catalog status are not specified in the announcement. |
| Handheld | Use the Xbox route that the particular handheld exposes, then check its live listing. | Handheld is an official availability category. | The announcement does not identify every handheld model or explain whether access is local, streamed, or subject to additional conditions. |
Use local installation when you want the Xbox Series X|S or PC route and have the required hardware and storage. Use Cloud only when the signed-in Xbox interface offers Valor Mortis for your device and account. The evidence does not support a claim that one route has better image quality, controls, or performance.

The publisher’s launch announcement listed a $39.99 US standalone price. That was a price stated at launch, not a promise of the current amount in every country or at every time. Store taxes, currency conversion, regional pricing, discounts, and later changes can alter the checkout total.
Recommended Free Tools
If you already have Ultimate or PC Game Pass and the title is still in your catalog, installing through the subscription avoids a separate purchase. If you do not have an eligible plan, compare the current store price with the subscription’s monthly cost and the other games you would use. A subscription is not automatically the cheaper option for a single game, particularly if you would not otherwise use its catalog.

Buying the game and subscribing are different entitlements. The live store page should tell you whether your account can install through Game Pass, buy a permanent license, or use both options.
Troubleshooting common access problems
The game does not appear in search
- Confirm that you searched the exact title,
Valor Mortis, in the Xbox or Microsoft interface rather than a third-party store. - Check the date and time. The announced release was October 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. UTC; an older September 24 date is obsolete.
- Make sure you are signed in to the account that has Ultimate or PC Game Pass.
- Refresh the catalog or restart the relevant app if the launch window has just passed.
- Check the live listing for your country. Catalog availability can vary and can change after launch.
The page shows a price instead of Install
Verify the subscription tier first. Ultimate and PC Game Pass are the tiers named in the launch announcement; other tiers are not established as eligible. Also check for an account mismatch, an expired subscription, or a catalog change. Do not purchase solely because the first page you opened did not recognize your entitlement.
The Xbox console will not start the download
- Confirm that the console is online and that the correct account is active.
- Reopen the title from the Xbox Store or Game Pass section and select the install control again.
- Check that the console has enough available storage; the announcement does not state the game’s required space.
- If the listing still offers only purchase, recheck the subscription and the current regional catalog before troubleshooting hardware.
The PC app has no install prompt
- Open the listing while signed in to the account with PC Game Pass.
- Try the other official entry point—the Xbox app if you started in Microsoft Store, or Microsoft Store if you started in the Xbox app.
- Refresh or restart the app and verify that Windows is connected to the internet.
- Use the listing’s current access message to distinguish an entitlement problem from a temporary app issue.
Cloud play is unavailable
Cloud eligibility is the least fully specified part of the launch information. Confirm that Valor Mortis appears in the cloud interface for your account, then read any device, region, or plan notice shown there. If the console or PC listing works but the cloud tile does not, that difference does not by itself indicate a problem with your subscription; cloud support can have separate conditions.
What the official information does not confirm
For an informed installation decision, it is just as important to know what has not been published in the launch details:
- No download or install-size figure is stated.
- No minimum or recommended PC specifications are stated.
- No resolution, frame-rate, storage-performance, or input comparison between platforms is stated.
- No complete list of cloud-supported devices, countries, network speeds, or account conditions is stated.
- No specific handheld models or handheld control method is identified.
- No permanent Game Pass guarantee is given; catalog membership can change.
Use the current Xbox or Microsoft listing, rather than an assumed specification, when one of these details affects your decision.
