Use the monitor’s controls to raise its volume and check that it is not muted. If that does not help, confirm that your specific Samsung curved monitor has built-in speakers, then check that your computer or other source is sending audio to the monitor. Button controls, menu names and speaker availability vary by model.
Raise the monitor volume and check mute
- Find the monitor’s physical controls. Depending on the model, these may be a button or a directional control. Open the monitor’s on-screen controls and locate Volume.
- Increase the level and check mute. Samsung’s general troubleshooting guidance is to raise the volume using the monitor controls, then test the sound. If the monitor is muted, unmute it.
- Use the manual for your exact model if the controls are unclear. For example, a Samsung G55 manual excerpt says to adjust volume by moving the JOG button left or right. That direction-specific method is not universal across Samsung curved monitors. Find the model number on the rear label or in the monitor’s information screen, then consult its Samsung manual.
Check whether your monitor has built-in speakers
Samsung curved monitors do not all include speakers. For example, Samsung Canada’s T55 product page says its built-in 5 W speakers are available only on the 27-inch and 32-inch models in that range; the 24-inch model does not have them. This specification is for the listed Canadian T55 range, not every Samsung curved monitor. Check the specifications for your exact model before troubleshooting its volume.

Make sure the source device sends audio to the monitor
Turning up the monitor cannot help if the computer or another connected device is muted or sending sound to a different output, such as headphones. Check the source device’s volume and selected output. On Windows or macOS, select the monitor as the audio output if it appears as an option. Samsung’s support guidance also recommends checking that the source is not muted.

Some models with built-in speakers may offer a monitor setting such as Speaker Select. Samsung’s support page says to choose TV Speaker in the Sound menu where that option is available. The menu and setting are model-dependent, so use this step only if your monitor has the setting.

Check the audio connection
If the volume, mute state, speaker availability and output selection look correct, check the cable carrying audio. Disconnect and reconnect it at both ends, and test with a known-working compatible cable if available. A loose or faulty connection can interrupt sound even when the settings are correct.
Use external speakers if the monitor has no speakers
If your model lacks built-in speakers, increasing its on-screen volume will not produce audio from the monitor itself. Samsung says external speakers can be used with a gaming monitor that has no built-in speakers. Before choosing speakers, check what audio output your monitor provides and confirm that the speakers support a compatible connection. If the source device has a suitable audio output, connecting speakers to that device may also be an option.

If the sound is still missing or too quiet
- Verify the exact monitor model and its speaker specifications.
- Test audio from another source device, if one is available, to distinguish a monitor or connection issue from a source-device setting.
- Try a known-working compatible audio cable and reconnect both ends.
- Consult the model-specific Samsung manual for its volume controls, audio menu and supported connections.
