How to Increase Moonflesh Drops in Warframe: Boosters, Loot Abilities, and the Fastest Taubound Farm

Resource Boosters do not increase Moonflesh. Digital Extremes classifies Moonflesh as an Operation Currency for the one-time Taubound event, so the published event rules exclude it from booster effects. Loot abilities from Nekros, Hydroid, Khora, Atlas, Ivara, Wukong, and Chesa have documented effects on Warframe’s normal loot tables, but no official source confirms that any of them increases Moonflesh. The dependable plan is to run Eris missions, choose Steel Path only when its higher payout outweighs your slower clear speed, and complete every timed Operation Alert.

What Moonflesh is and when you can earn it

It is a temporary operation currency

Moonflesh is the fuel currency for the one-time Epoch Operation: Taubound. The operation began on October 15, 2026, and is scheduled to end on November 17, 2026. During that window, you collect Moonflesh in Eris missions and trade it to Praghasa for the event’s rewards. It is not a permanent resource-farming system, so the event end date matters when deciding whether to spend time optimizing a run.

The currency is tied to the operation’s rules rather than Warframe’s ordinary resource economy. That distinction explains why a booster that works on conventional resources does not automatically apply to Moonflesh.

Where the documented drops come from

The event announcement identifies eligible Infested enemies on Eris as a chance-based source. Maggots are explicitly excluded. The same announcement lists a different Moonflesh amount for Steel Path and separate guaranteed rewards for timed Operation Alerts.

Published Moonflesh payouts

These are the event figures published by Digital Extremes for Taubound:

Source Difficulty Published Moonflesh Income type Availability
Eligible Infested enemies in an Eris mission Normal Chance to drop 2 per enemy Chance-based enemy drop During Taubound
Eligible Infested enemies in an Eris mission Steel Path Chance to drop 3 per enemy Chance-based enemy drop During Taubound
Timed Operation Alert Normal 50 for completing the alert Guaranteed completion reward Alerts appear about every hour
Timed Operation Alert Steel Path 75 for completing the alert Guaranteed completion reward Alerts appear about every hour

“Chance to drop” is important: the listed enemy amount is not a promise that every eligible enemy will pay out. The announcement does not publish a Moonflesh drop probability, an average per mission, or a cap. Your actual total therefore depends on how many eligible enemies you fight, how quickly you clear them, and the random drop result.

Do Resource Boosters increase Moonflesh?

No. The official Taubound rules state: “Please note that as Moonflesh is an Operation Currency, it is not affected by boosters.” That wording covers Resource Boosters: activating or purchasing one does not increase the quantity awarded by Moonflesh drops, and it does not improve the currency’s drop rate.

This is a category rule, not a statement about every resource in the mission. A booster can still affect ordinary resources that follow the normal resource system, but that benefit should not be counted when estimating your Moonflesh income. If Moonflesh is your reason for using a booster, save the credits or Platinum and run the event without one.

Why the usual booster logic does not apply

Warframe normally uses drop tables and resource quantities that can be modified by boosters. Taubound places Moonflesh in the Operation Currency category instead. The event’s own rules take priority over general expectations, so testing a booster on a few missions cannot override the published exclusion.

Do Nekros, Hydroid, Khora, Atlas, Ivara, Wukong, or Chesa increase it?

No Moonflesh-specific bonus is officially documented for any of those frames or companions. Their abilities interact with different stages of Warframe’s ordinary loot process, but the Taubound announcement does not say that Moonflesh is included in those rerolls or extra loot rolls.

That means claims that a particular “loot frame” definitely doubles, rerolls, or otherwise increases Moonflesh should be treated as unconfirmed unless Digital Extremes documents the interaction or changes the event rules. You may still choose one of these loadouts for survivability, crowd control, ordinary resource farming, or a faster clear; those practical benefits are separate from a Moonflesh multiplier.

Where each ability acts in the normal loot system

Ability or effect Normal loot stage described in the game’s drop-table references Moonflesh status
Ivara’s Prowl Rerolls living enemies No official Moonflesh interaction published
Atlas’ Ore Gaze Rerolls petrified enemies No official Moonflesh interaction published
Hydroid’s Pilfering Swarm Adds a loot roll when an enemy dies No official Moonflesh interaction published
Khora’s Pilfering Strangledome Adds a loot roll when an enemy dies No official Moonflesh interaction published
Wukong’s passive Adds a loot roll on enemy death No official Moonflesh interaction published
Nekros’ Desecrate Acts on corpses and can force additional loot No official Moonflesh interaction published
Chesa Kubrow’s Retrieve Acts on corpses No official Moonflesh interaction published

Nekros’ official ability description says Desecrate forces fallen enemies around him to drop additional loot. The Warframe Wiki lists a maximum additional-drop-table chance of 54% for Desecrate. That percentage describes the normal additional-drop-table effect; it is not a published 54% Moonflesh chance. The same references explain that effects at different stages can stack, while two corpse-loot effects do not stack with each other. None of those general rules establishes that Moonflesh participates in the relevant table.

Operation Alerts are the clearest guaranteed source

Timed Operation Alerts award a fixed completion reward, unlike enemy drops. The event notice says to watch for alerts appearing about every hour. The alert reward is higher on Steel Path than on the normal version, as shown in the payout table above.

How to use alerts efficiently

  1. Check the alerts view regularly. “About every hour” is an approximate cadence, not a promise of an exact minute. Do not plan around a precise timer.
  2. Read the alert’s difficulty before launching. Decide whether the normal or Steel Path version fits your current build and available time.
  3. Complete the alert while it is available. The reward is tied to completion, so an abandoned or failed run should not be counted as guaranteed income.
  4. Return to ordinary Eris missions between alerts. This keeps your play time productive instead of waiting in orbit for the next notice.

Alerts are especially valuable when you need a predictable amount for a specific event reward. Enemy farming remains useful for filling gaps between alerts, but its result varies because the enemy source is chance-based.

The fastest practical Moonflesh route

There is no published universal “best node” or official average Moonflesh-per-minute figure. The fastest route is therefore a decision based on the sources Digital Extremes has confirmed and on your own clear speed.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Start with an Eris mission containing Infested enemies. Moonflesh’s documented enemy source is eligible Infested enemies on Eris. Maggots do not qualify, so their presence should not be used to estimate your expected payout.
  2. Choose the difficulty you can clear consistently. Steel Path lists a larger amount per eligible enemy, but the higher listing only helps if you can maintain a comparable pace and avoid deaths, failed missions, or long defensive pauses.
  3. Use a reliable high-throughput loadout. Prioritize the equipment that lets you kill eligible enemies quickly and stay alive. A loot ability may be useful for ordinary drops or convenience, but do not include an unverified Moonflesh bonus in your calculation.
  4. Run alerts whenever they appear. Their completion reward is guaranteed and therefore complements the variable enemy-drop route.
  5. Repeat until you have the event currency you need. Because Taubound is scheduled to end on November 17, 2026, leave time to trade Moonflesh to Praghasa before the operation closes.

Normal missions versus Steel Path

Decision factor Normal Eris mission Steel Path Eris mission
Enemy payout listing Lower listed amount per eligible enemy Higher listed amount per eligible enemy
Required power and survivability Lower barrier Higher barrier
Best choice when Your normal clear is substantially faster or safer You can clear quickly without losing runs to deaths or slowdowns
Main risk Fewer Moonflesh per eligible enemy Theoretical increase is lost if the run becomes slow or unreliable

The event announcement gives the per-enemy listings but does not provide a mission-level average. Compare your own completed-run totals and elapsed time rather than assuming Steel Path is always faster. A lower-difficulty mission that you clear smoothly can outperform a higher-difficulty mission that forces lengthy fights or repeated retries.

How to build a sensible farming plan

Separate guaranteed and chance-based income

Use alerts as the predictable portion of your plan. Treat ordinary enemy drops as variable income. This distinction prevents a common planning error: multiplying the listed enemy amount by every enemy on the map and treating the result as guaranteed currency.

Measure clear time, not just the displayed payout

If you are deciding between difficulties, record the Moonflesh you actually receive and the time spent in several completed runs. The event rules supply the per-enemy listing, but they do not publish drop odds or an average per mission. Your own run time is therefore the only reliable way to determine whether a stronger but slower setup is worthwhile.

Use loot frames for the benefits they can prove

Nekros, Hydroid, Khora, Atlas, Ivara, Wukong, and Chesa can be sensible choices when you want their documented normal-loot behavior, crowd control, or personal survivability. Select them for those reasons, not because community assumptions guarantee extra Moonflesh. If a future patch or official clarification adds Moonflesh to a loot table, reassess the plan then.

Do not spend resources on a non-working booster

Because the operation rules exclude boosters, buying one specifically for Moonflesh cannot improve the event currency result. Redirect that investment toward equipment, consumables, or ordinary resource farming only if those are separate goals.

Troubleshooting common Moonflesh questions

“I received no Moonflesh from an enemy.”

The enemy source is chance-based, so an individual eligible enemy is not guaranteed to pay out. Confirm that you were in an Eris mission, that the target was an eligible Infested enemy rather than a Maggot, and that you are not treating the listed per-enemy amount as a guaranteed drop.

“My booster did not change the total.”

That result matches the published rule. Moonflesh is excluded from booster effects because it is an Operation Currency.

“My loot frame did not produce extra Moonflesh.”

No official source promises that it will. The documented ability descriptions concern ordinary loot stages, while the Taubound announcement does not identify Moonflesh as part of those tables.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“Steel Path is taking too long.”

Switch to the difficulty that gives you the better completed-run pace. The higher Steel Path listing is useful only when your build can exploit it without sacrificing clear speed, reliability, or mission completion.

“I cannot see an alert right now.”

The event notice says alerts appear about every hour, so the cadence is approximate. Continue checking periodically and farm an Eris mission between alerts rather than assuming an exact schedule.

What is confirmed and what remains unresolved

  • Confirmed: Moonflesh is a temporary Taubound operation currency collected in Eris missions and traded to Praghasa.
  • Confirmed: The operation began October 15, 2026, and is scheduled to end November 17, 2026.
  • Confirmed: Resource Boosters do not affect Moonflesh.
  • Confirmed: Eligible Infested enemies have the published normal and Steel Path per-enemy listings, while Maggots are excluded.
  • Confirmed: Timed Operation Alerts provide fixed completion rewards, with a higher listed reward on Steel Path.
  • Documented for normal loot: The listed frames and Chesa operate at specific reroll, death, or corpse stages, and some effects have stacking restrictions.
  • Unresolved: Digital Extremes has not published a Moonflesh-specific multiplier, reroll rule, or inclusion in any of those loot abilities’ tables.

Plan your Taubound farming around the confirmed rules: run eligible Eris missions, take Steel Path when it is efficient for your build, and complete every available Operation Alert. Treat any claim that a loot ability increases Moonflesh as unverified until an official event rule or patch note says otherwise.
