How Pack Mule increases carry capacity
Pack Mule is the documented in-game skill for increasing Coen’s maximum Carry Weight. The game-specific ability reference lists these bonuses by rank:

The ability reference lists Endless Effort as a prerequisite and the Pack Mule Manual as the teaching manual. It does not confirm the skill-point or time-segment cost to reach the maximum rank, so check the in-game tree before budgeting an upgrade.

Open the Equipment screen and compare the carried-weight figure with the maximum carrying threshold. A September 26, 2026 guide describes the first number as the combined weight of carried items and the second as the current limit: Runway Game’s guide.

What happens when Coen is overencumbered
The game glossary says that exceeding the Inventory Weight Limit makes Coen Overencumbered. In that state, he cannot run or use Fast Travel. Pack Mule’s rank-three description confirms that running is allowed while encumbered; it does not say Fast Travel becomes available, so do not assume the skill removes that restriction.
How to reduce carried weight without Pack Mule
- Sell surplus equipment you no longer need.
- Dismantle unwanted gear rather than carrying it.
- Store items in Shrine Stashes if you want to keep them without carrying them. Shrine Stashes are identified as part of the game’s storage system.
The September 26, 2026 walkthrough also notes that medium and heavy armor and full-size swords can add substantially to your load. Treat that as guide advice, not a quantified in-game rule.

Are carry-capacity mods available?
Community sources describe unofficial PC modifications that raise the limit, but these are not required: Pack Mule and managing your inventory are the documented in-game options.
