The safest way to extend a Vivo X300 Pro through a full day is to find the biggest drain first, then make targeted changes to the display, individual apps, radios and charging routine. You can keep calls, notifications, location, Bluetooth and mobile data available while cutting waste. Start with Settings > Battery > Usage since last full charge; the ranking tells you whether your problem is an app, the screen, poor signal or a charging and heat habit.
What the X300 Pro battery can—and cannot—tell you
The Vivo X300 Pro uses a 6510 mAh typical battery at 3.77 V; its rated capacity is 6375 mAh. Vivo lists 24.55 Wh typical energy and 24.04 Wh rated energy. These are capacity specifications, not a promise of a particular screen-on time. Brightness, refresh rate, camera use, mobile-signal quality, temperature, app activity and charging patterns can make two phones with the same battery last very differently.

The phone supports up to 90 W wired charging and up to 40 W wireless charging when used with compatible Vivo charging equipment. Faster charging is convenient, but it does not create extra energy; it can also create more heat if the phone is being used heavily at the same time. The X300 Pro manual identifies 0°C to 35°C as the battery’s optimal working range and warns that higher temperatures accelerate ageing and reduce battery life.
No independent runtime test establishes a universal number of hours for this model. Treat any exact endurance figure found online as a result from a particular brightness, network, software build and workload rather than a guarantee for your phone.

Use a diagnosis-first sequence
Changing every setting at once makes it impossible to identify the cause and can disable features you actually need. Work through the following order, checking the battery graph after each meaningful change.
- Measure the current drain. Open Settings > Battery > Usage since last full charge. Note the apps and system components at the top of the list, the screen-on period and any rapid drops while the phone was idle. The manual says this consumption figure is approximate and varies with use.
- Change the largest reversible load. If Display, a game, video app, camera processing or a social app dominates the list, adjust that item before touching connectivity settings.
- Recheck after a normal day. A short test can be distorted by a software update, a long camera session or a weak-signal commute. Compare similar days rather than one isolated hour.
- Escalate only after software checks. Persistent abnormal drain with no unusually active app warrants service diagnosis rather than repeated factory resets.
Lower display consumption without making the phone hard to use
Set brightness for the room
Maximum brightness is one of the easiest drains to remove. Keep automatic brightness enabled if it tracks your surroundings well, then lower the slider indoors and in shaded areas. You do not need to make the screen dim enough to cause eye strain; the goal is to avoid running at maximum output when the room is already dark.
Shorten screen timeout
Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Screen timeout and choose the shortest interval that still lets you read without repeated taps. A shorter timeout saves power whenever you put the phone down while a page is still open. It does not affect incoming calls, alarms or notifications.
Choose refresh rate by task
In Settings > Display & brightness, open the refresh-rate option and select a lower setting when you are reading static text, checking email or using maps. Keep the higher rate for scrolling, games or other situations where motion smoothness matters. If your software offers an automatic or smart mode, it is a reasonable compromise: smoothness is available when needed without forcing the highest rate continuously.
A lower refresh rate changes animation fluidity, not notification delivery, cellular calling or camera availability. Switch back temporarily if scrolling feels uncomfortable; a setting that makes you avoid the phone is not a useful battery strategy.
Use Dark theme when its appearance works for you
Enable Dark theme from the display settings or the system quick settings tile. The Vivo manual states: “On some screens, Dark theme will use a solid black background which will help extend your battery life.” The benefit depends on how each screen is rendered and which apps support the theme, so it is an efficiency option rather than a guaranteed percentage saving.

Dark theme does not turn off notifications, mobile data, Bluetooth, location or calls. If a particular app becomes harder to read, leave that app light while keeping the system theme dark, where the software provides an app-level choice.
Restrict only apps that do not need to run in the background
Find the offender
Return to the battery ranking and open an app with disproportionate background use. Compare its foreground time with its background time. A messaging, mail, wearable or navigation app may legitimately work in the background; a rarely used game or shopping app usually does not need constant activity.
Pick the least disruptive control
Depending on your X300 Pro software version, the app’s battery page may offer background restriction, hibernation or an unrestricted/optimized choice. Use the restrictive option only for apps whose background function is unimportant. Test the app afterwards by opening it and checking whether alerts arrive when expected.
- Keep unrestricted or optimized behavior for calls, messaging, mail, calendar reminders, two-factor authentication, health and wearable companions, navigation and work chat.
- Restrict background activity for apps that you open only occasionally and do not expect to notify you.
- Update an app when its drain began after a release; a bug fix can restore normal behavior without disabling its functions.
- Uninstall an app only when you no longer need it and it repeatedly returns to the top of the ranking.
Do not force-stop every app as a routine. Android may reopen frequently used apps, and repeatedly restarting them can consume more energy than allowing normal cached behavior.
Turn off radios only while they are genuinely idle
GPS, Bluetooth, hotspot and mobile data can add consumption, especially while an app actively uses them. Weak cellular reception is also expensive because the phone searches harder for a usable signal. The right approach is selective:

Turn it off during a period when no paired device is needed.
- Location: keep location available for navigation, emergency functions and apps that need it. Revoke location from apps that have no legitimate reason to request it, or use an approximate-location option where available.
- Hotspot: disable tethering immediately after the laptop or tablet disconnects. A hotspot keeps the cellular and Wi-Fi radios active even when no one is transferring data.
- Mobile data: use Wi-Fi when it is stable, but do not disable mobile connectivity if you need calls, messages or work notifications while away from Wi-Fi.
Airplane mode is appropriate for flights, underground travel or deliberate offline periods. It is not a good permanent battery fix if it prevents the communication features you consider essential.

Use Power saving as a situational mode
For a temporary reserve, open Settings > Battery > Power saving. Vivo’s troubleshooting guidance recommends this mode to reduce consumption. It is useful before a long trip, during an outage or when you need several more hours and can accept some background limits.
Super power saving is a last-resort mode. The manual says it limits device features and performance and is available only in some apps. That can interfere with background synchronization, rich notifications, camera processing or multitasking. Enable it when preserving basic calls and messages matters more than normal smartphone behavior, then exit it when you can recharge.
Charge in a way that protects long-term capacity
Control heat while charging
The manual warns against long, intensive use while the phone is charging and against temperatures above 35°C. Gaming, navigation in direct sun, 4K recording and hotspot use can all add heat. If the phone becomes hot, remove it from an insulating surface, stop the demanding task and let it cool before continuing.

Use the correct charger and cable
The X300 Pro is specified for up to 90 W wired and 40 W wireless charging. Use a compatible Vivo-standard charger and a suitable USB-C cable for the regional model. The manual warns that non-original chargers or cables can create unstable voltage or current. A slower, reputable compatible charger is preferable to an unknown accessory that runs hot or behaves erratically.
Do not keep it full and hot for long periods
Disconnect the phone when practical instead of leaving it charging for hours after it reaches full, particularly in a warm room or under a pillow. Overnight charging is less concerning when the phone remains cool and the software’s charging protection is active, but avoiding unnecessary time at a high state of charge is the gentler habit.

Enable charging-health controls when your software offers them
Open Settings > Battery > Battery health and charging. Check the displayed maximum capacity and cycle count. Vivo’s global support information lists optimized charging and a charging upper limit, but the labels and availability vary by country, carrier and software version.
Optimized charging
Turn on the optimized-charging option if present. The phone can delay the final part of charging so it spends less time sitting at a very high charge level, especially during predictable charging periods. This protects long-term capacity without disabling calls, notifications or normal daytime use. The first few charging sessions may not appear different while the device learns your routine.
Charging upper limit
If an upper-limit control is available, select the limit that fits your routine. Stopping below a full charge can reduce time spent at the highest voltage, but it also gives you less immediate energy for an unusually long day. Use the limit when you normally finish with reserve; temporarily charge fully before travel or another day when maximum capacity is important.
If neither control appears, do not install an unofficial battery manager to imitate it. Menu availability depends on the model variant, region and software build; use the built-in battery page and keep the system current.
Install updates, then measure again
Open the system update screen and install stable updates offered for your X300 Pro. Updates can fix a runaway service, modem behavior or app compatibility problem. Conversely, a major update can cause temporary indexing and synchronization while the phone settles.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsAfter an update or a new-app installation, revisit Usage since last full charge rather than assuming the battery itself failed. The manual notes that features differ by model, carrier and country or region, so another X300 Pro owner’s menu may not match yours exactly.

Use the Battery Life Extender claim correctly
Vivo advertises a Battery Life Extender that can provide approximately four minutes of call time from a 1% charge when enabled. That is a vendor claim under Vivo’s stated conditions, not an independent test and not a guarantee for streaming, camera use or general standby. Treat it as an emergency reserve feature, not as a replacement for charging-health habits.
Troubleshoot common battery complaints
“The phone loses charge while I am not using it.”
- Check the battery ranking for background apps and unusual mobile-network activity.
- Restrict only the app that is clearly disproportionate and does not need instant alerts.
- Check whether the phone was in a weak-signal area, acting as a hotspot or repeatedly searching for a network.
- Restart once after installing an update, then measure another normal idle period.
“The screen drains the battery too quickly.”
Compare screen use with the rest of the ranking. Lower brightness, shorten timeout and select a lower refresh rate for static tasks. Keep a comfortable brightness and the refresh rate needed for accessibility or gaming; extreme dimming is not a sustainable fix.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →“Notifications stopped after I saved battery.”
Open the affected app’s battery settings and remove the restrictive background policy. Also verify that data saver, Do Not Disturb and notification permissions are not blocking it. Messaging, mail, authentication and wearable apps should normally remain optimized or unrestricted if immediate alerts are essential.
“The phone is hot while charging.”
Stop gaming, navigation, hotspot use or recording while charging; move the phone out of direct sun and remove insulating coverings. Use a compatible charger and cable. If abnormal heat continues when the phone is idle and cool, stop using the accessory and contact Vivo service.
“Battery health shows a lower maximum capacity.”
Maximum capacity naturally declines with cycles and age. Turn on optimized charging or an upper limit if available, avoid repeated high-temperature charging and monitor whether runtime changes abruptly. A sudden drop accompanied by swelling, shutdowns or extreme heat requires professional service rather than calibration apps.
“Nothing in the ranking explains the drain.”
Record the software version, recent app installations, signal conditions and approximate rate of loss. Install pending system and app updates, then repeat the check. If abnormal consumption persists with no identifiable software cause, Vivo’s troubleshooting guidance directs owners to a customer service center for diagnosis.

Features you should keep enabled
Battery saving is not successful if it breaks the functions you bought the phone to perform. Keep notifications and background access for communication, authentication, calendar and safety apps; keep Bluetooth for required accessories; keep location for navigation and emergency use; and keep mobile connectivity when you need reliable calls or messages away from Wi-Fi. Adjust the offending app or display setting first instead of applying a blanket restriction.
A practical maintenance routine
- Weekly: glance at Usage since last full charge and investigate a new app that suddenly dominates the list.
- Before travel: update the phone, reduce unnecessary brightness, confirm the charger and cable are compatible, and decide whether an upper charge limit should be temporarily disabled for a long day.
- During hot weather: avoid direct sun and intensive use while charging; let the phone cool before resuming demanding work.
- After a major update: allow normal synchronization to finish, then compare battery behavior over a full day rather than judging the first hour.
- When battery behavior becomes abnormal: save your data, document the symptoms and seek service if targeted app and setting checks do not help.
This approach preserves the X300 Pro’s core communication and camera functions while addressing the specific source of waste. The largest gains come from correcting an outlier—such as maximum brightness, a runaway background app, poor signal or charging heat—not from disabling every useful feature.
