The fixes differ. First identify whether the problem is low frame rate or stuttering in the installed game, or delayed response in a cloud stream; then use the matching steps below.
Identify which version you are playing
Halo Support’s graphics settings guidance applies to the installed PC game. Xbox separately lists Halo Infinite for Cloud Gaming, which is streamed play rather than an installed browser port. The sources do not establish that unofficial browser games described as “Halo ports” use the same game or technology, so these steps should not be assumed to cover them.

This distinction is important: lowering a PC graphics setting can reduce local rendering work, but it does not establish a fix for delay in a cloud stream.

Improve performance in the installed PC game
Reduce rendering work
- Open Halo Infinite’s graphics settings and lower the render scale below 100%. This reduces rendering work, but can make the image less sharp. Check both performance and image quality after changing it. Halo documents the setting’s effect but does not promise a particular improvement on every PC.
- If frame delivery feels inconsistent, try lowering the maximum frame-rate cap. Halo’s settings guidance says a lower maximum can produce a smoother, more consistent experience; the result depends on the system.
- Select the low graphics preset when prioritizing performance. Halo Support recommends it for maximum performance capability.
Check PC requirements and drivers
- Compare your PC with Halo Support’s official minimum hardware requirements; do not assume that generic browser-game advice applies to the installed game.
- Keep your graphics drivers current. Driver updates are a sensible general check, though they do not guarantee that a particular hitch will disappear.
Repair game files if the issue followed a modification
If the problem started after you changed game files, Halo Support recommends repairing the app or verifying the Steam installation. Reinstall only if those steps do not resolve the issue. Use the repair or verification option for the platform where you installed the game.

Check only the named, relevant system features
Halo Support identifies AMD Radeon Anti-Lag as a source of hitches on some systems. If that feature is enabled and you are experiencing hitches, check Halo’s known issues guidance and test the relevant setting. The same page lists disabling hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling as a workaround for a specific performance issue on Windows 10. These are conditional checks, not universal fixes; do not treat them as steps every player needs to take.
Troubleshoot Halo Infinite streamed in a browser
Separate stream delay from local frame-rate problems
Xbox lists Halo Infinite on Xbox Cloud Gaming. In this case, the game is streamed rather than rendered as an installed PC game on your device. Halo’s PC graphics settings therefore do not directly address every possible cause of slow or delayed streamed play.

Start by describing the symptom: a low or uneven frame rate in the local game is different from delayed input or a slow response in a stream. The available official material supports this distinction but does not provide a validated test that measures how much delay comes from the network, cloud service, or input device.

If controls are not registering as expected, consult Xbox’s tested-controller information for Cloud Gaming. The available page information does not establish a detailed list of supported models here, so check Xbox’s current list rather than assuming a particular controller is supported. A compatible controller may help when the input device or its connection is implicated; it cannot, by itself, fix network or streaming latency.

Do not rely on unsupported network or browser tweaks
The official Xbox network troubleshooting result does not provide readable steps here. Accordingly, there is no substantiated connection-speed threshold, Wi-Fi band recommendation, browser-cache fix, or region/server selection instruction to apply as a guaranteed remedy. Check Xbox’s current Cloud Gaming support information for service-specific guidance instead of treating generic browser tweaks as confirmed Halo fixes.
