First identify what kind of lag you are seeing
High ping, lost connection, and rubber-banding point toward a network problem. Low or unstable frame rate, stuttering, freezes, or slowdown when the phone heats up point more toward rendering or device performance. These symptoms can overlap, and the official support steps do not provide diagnostic thresholds, so treat this distinction as a starting point rather than a definitive diagnosis.

Check the connection

Make sure the connection is stable. If the problem continues, try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data (4G), or move somewhere with a stronger signal. Use a stable Wi-Fi connection and check whether the connection itself is troublesome. If Wi-Fi is the issue, Activision suggests restarting the router. Try low-risk maintenance for slow or stuttering gameplay

Try these steps one at a time, checking whether gameplay changes after each one. Activision recommends them for slow gameplay; they are not a promise of higher FPS.
- Update Call of Duty: Mobile.
- Install available system software updates for the phone.
- Close background apps, messaging pop-ups, and overlays that may be running over the game.
- Restart the phone.
- Uninstall apps you do not need if you need to free RAM.
- Clear the game’s cache. The cited guidance recommends clearing cache, not clearing app data.
Activision’s slow-gameplay steps
BGMI
Exit the game and free up phone storage. If the problem continues, use the Repair option on the right side of BGMI’s login page. Reinstalling is a later step, not the first one to try. Use only frame-rate settings your game supports
BGMI: check for the Ultra Extreme option
BGMI’s 120 FPS option is limited to select high-refresh-rate devices with the necessary hardware and software support. In the game, check Settings > Graphics for Ultra Extreme. Call of Duty: Mobile: choose from the options shown
The reviewed Call of Duty: Mobile support guidance does not establish a universal high-FPS device list or a best setting combination. Use the frame-rate choices displayed by your game and device. If performance remains unstable, lowering graphics is a device-dependent troubleshooting option to try—not a guaranteed or universal fix.
Do not confuse screen refresh rate with game FPS
Refresh-rate behavior can vary by game even on the same phone. For example, Xiaomi says the POCO X7 Pro’s Game Turbo high-frame-rate mode supports 120 Hz for Call of Duty: Mobile while BGMI runs at 60 Hz. Check compatibility without treating minimums as performance targets
Activision lists these minimum requirements for Call of Duty: Mobile:

- iOS: iOS 15.0 or later and at least 2 GB of RAM.

When to contact support
- BGMI connection trouble: Contact BGMI support if connection fluctuation persists after trying the listed network steps.
- BGMI 120 FPS: Contact in-game support if the option is offered but does not apply after configuring the game and phone settings.
