Start with Settings > Battery and inspect Battery usage. What the published battery figures mean
The F35 listing gives two capacity numbers: 8,000mAh typical and 7,820mAh rated. “Typical” is the stated representative capacity, while “rated” is the minimum specified capacity used for the product’s rating. Neither number tells you exactly how long your phone will last in a particular day.
OPPO also reports these results from its laboratory testing:

Why your result can differ from the table
Standby is not the same as an active day. A phone showing a map, keeping the display bright, maintaining a video call or exchanging data over a weak connection is doing substantially more work than a device left idle. Your installed apps, software build, signal conditions, temperature and habits all change the result. Compare your own Battery usage reports over similar periods instead of comparing one busy day with OPPO’s controlled laboratory number.
Find the cause before changing settings
Check Battery usage
- Open Settings.
- Tap Battery.
- Open Battery usage or the similarly named usage-details page.
- Review the apps and activities at the top of the list for the period in which the drain occurred.
- Compare the list with what you actually did. A navigation, video, camera or game session can legitimately account for a large share; an app you barely opened deserves investigation.
OPPO’s battery guidance recommends using these details and its optimization controls to locate power-consumption problems. Do not begin by restricting every app: broad restrictions can create notification and synchronization failures without addressing the real cause.

Take a baseline before optimizing
Note the battery percentage, the time and the leading entries in Battery usage before you change anything. After a normal period of use, check again. This simple baseline helps distinguish a real improvement from a day that happened to involve less video, gaming or calling. If you change brightness, background permissions and Power Saving all at once, you will not know which measure helped or which one caused a missed alert.
Reduce everyday drain without breaking important alerts
Set a practical screen brightness
Display brightness is one of the quickest changes you can make. Lower it to the dimmest level that remains comfortable for the current room or outdoor conditions. Brightness that is unnecessarily high wastes energy; brightness that is too low encourages you to raise it again or makes the phone difficult to use. Make the adjustment before starting a long video, game or call rather than waiting for the battery warning.
Restrict background activity selectively
For apps that do not need to update constantly, use the battery or app-management controls to limit background activity. This reduces work when the app is not on screen. Apply the restriction to identified high-consumption apps, not to every app by default.

Keep background access relaxed for messaging, security, navigation and other apps whose timely alerts or location updates matter. OPPO notes that restrictions can delay notifications and background updates. If an alert arrives late after you restrict an app, restore the less restrictive setting for that app and check whether its battery use is justified.
Review auto-launch permissions
Disable auto-launch for apps that do not need to start themselves. An app that launches repeatedly can perform work before you open it. Leave auto-launch enabled where starting in the background is part of the app’s purpose, such as security monitoring or a communication service that must receive alerts.
Recheck after each change
Change one category at a time, use the phone normally, then return to Battery usage. This shows whether a setting actually reduced consumption and makes it easier to undo a change that caused missed notifications or another problem.

Plan settings around the activity
There is no single best setting for every hour. Before a long trip, lower brightness and restrict only nonessential apps. Before navigation, leave the navigation app’s background and location behavior intact. Before a video call, expect the camera, display and network to be significant consumers and carry an external battery if charging access will be limited. This targeted approach preserves useful alerts while reducing avoidable work.
Choose between Power Saving and Super Power Saving

Power Saving is the balanced choice. Super Power Saving is a deliberate emergency compromise: decide which six apps you will need before you enable it, especially if one of them is a phone, messaging, map or payment app.
Compare the modes before you need them
Power Saving is appropriate when you still need ordinary multitasking, browsing and access to most apps. Its reductions are selective and may be barely noticeable apart from brightness or delayed background work. Super Power Saving is for preserving the remaining charge when access matters less than endurance. Because it limits the phone to six selected apps, it is wise to identify those apps while you are calm and have network access, rather than improvising after the battery warning appears.
Turn on Power Saving
On ColorOS, open Settings > Battery and enable Power Saving (the label can vary slightly by release). You can also use the battery or power-saving tile in Control Center if it is available on your build.
After enabling it, expect some combination of reduced brightness, less background activity and limited CPU behavior. If a critical app stops delivering timely alerts, open its battery or app-management settings and relax the restriction for that app rather than abandoning Power Saving entirely.

Turn on Super Power Saving with the correct ColorOS path
Check your version under Settings > About Phone, then use the matching path below:

OPPO also describes enabling the mode from Control Center. If the tile or wording is absent, search Settings for “Super power saving” and follow the result for your installed version. Screens can differ by region and software build.
Select the six apps deliberately
Super Power Saving limits the phone to six selected apps. Choose the apps that solve the immediate problem rather than the apps you use most on a normal day. For example, during travel you might prioritize calling, messaging, maps, a payment app and an authentication tool. Leaving out a required app means exiting the mode or changing the selection before you can use it.
Exit when normal access is safe
Return to the Super Power Saving control or use the on-screen exit option to restore ordinary access. Once you leave, check that the apps you restricted earlier still have the background permissions they need; emergency mode and ordinary app restrictions are separate decisions.
Battery life today versus battery health over years
Settings that lower brightness or background activity stretch the current charge. Charging habits and temperature primarily affect how much capacity the battery retains over time. Treat these as two different goals.
Use the 20–80% range as a lifespan guideline
OPPO’s global guidance recommends charging between about 20% and 80% to minimize battery damage, avoiding complete discharge, and avoiding very hot or very cold conditions. This is a general battery-health recommendation, not a promise that every F35 software build includes an automatic 80% charge limit. Do not assume such a feature exists unless you can verify it in your own Battery settings.
Keep charging equipment compatible
OPPO warns that some third-party chargers may use improper voltage ranges. Use a charger and cable compatible with the phone’s charging system; SUPERVOOC chargers designed for OPPO devices are intended for that system. This is safety and compatibility advice, not a claim that purchasing a particular charger increases the time between charges.
Manage heat and cold
Avoid leaving the phone in very hot or cold conditions, especially while charging. Temperature extremes can affect battery health and can also change short-term runtime. If the phone becomes unusually hot, stop intensive use, move it to a moderate environment and check Battery usage after it cools.

Do not confuse capacity with charging behavior
The 8,000mAh typical and 7,820mAh rated figures describe capacity, not a required charging schedule or a guaranteed number of hours. A battery can have the stated capacity and still show different daily endurance because display time, network conditions and software activity differ. The 20–80% guidance is about reducing long-term stress; it will not make an individual day’s charge last longer than reducing active consumption.
Use an external battery when the problem is access to power
If the phone is healthy but you will be away from a charger, a USB-C power bank is an optional practical solution. OPPO support refers to using an external battery in that situation, but no particular capacity, brand or model is required for this advice. A power bank adds stored energy; it does not fix abnormal drain caused by an app or a faulty software state.
For an outing, combine the power bank with selective background restrictions and Power Saving. Reserve Super Power Saving for situations in which even that preparation is not enough, because it limits you to six apps.

Troubleshoot persistent fast drain
If one app keeps reappearing at the top
- Open Settings > Battery > Battery usage and confirm the app is consistently high over more than one check.
- Disable its auto-launch permission if it does not need to start itself.
- Restrict its background activity.
- Use the app normally and check whether the ranking improves.
- If notifications become late, restore background access and decide whether the app’s function justifies the consumption.
If all apps appear to drain quickly
Check whether the screen is being used at high brightness, whether you are spending long periods in video, gaming or video calls, and whether the phone is operating in a hot or cold environment. Lower brightness, enable Power Saving and repeat the Battery-usage check under comparable conditions. A laboratory runtime cannot be used to diagnose your individual pattern because OPPO’s figures were measured under controlled conditions.
If notifications stop after optimization
Undo the restriction for the affected messaging, security or navigation app. OPPO explicitly identifies delayed notifications and background updates as a possible consequence of app restrictions. Optimize less critical apps instead of forcing every app into the same battery policy.
If you need maximum remaining charge immediately
Enable Super Power Saving using the path for your ColorOS release, select the six essential apps and lower expectations about normal multitasking. This is an emergency operating mode, not a permanent replacement for finding the app or activity causing unusual drain.
If the menu is missing
Recheck the ColorOS version and search Settings for “Power saving” or “Super power saving.” A different regional build may use another label or place the control under Battery mode. Do not assume that a path shown for ColorOS 16 applies to an older release, or that the absence of a feature means the battery is defective.

- After installing an app: observe whether its background activity or auto-launch behavior changes idle consumption.
- Before a long day: lower brightness to a comfortable level, restrict only nonessential background apps and enable Power Saving if you expect limited charging access.
- During an emergency: switch to Super Power Saving and select six essential apps.
- While charging: use compatible equipment, avoid extreme temperatures and, when practical, keep the charge roughly between 20% and 80% for long-term battery health.
- After any restriction: test the notifications you rely on and restore background access if they arrive late.
This approach separates immediate energy savings from long-term battery care. It also keeps the F35 usable by applying the strongest restrictions only when the remaining charge or situation warrants them.
