Then adjust the biggest source of drain rather than switching off useful features across the whole phone. Battery Saver can help when you need extra runtime, but persistent idle drain or a battery that has gradually weakened may need a different fix.
Check what is using power first
Open Settings > Battery and review the battery-usage figures since the last full charge or the app power-consumption list, depending on your V80’s software version. The figures are approximate, and vivo notes they can vary with usage. Look for an app consuming an unusual amount of power in the background or during a period when the phone was mostly idle. Target the app or activity behind the drain
If one app is high in the battery list
Update the app, then consider limiting its background activity, location access, notifications or sync if you do not need those functions. Make changes selectively: restricting a messaging app may delay alerts, while limiting navigation or safety apps can interfere with features you rely on. vivo identifies background apps as one possible contributor to higher consumption.
If drain happens during demanding sessions
Navigation, video, hotspot use, gaming, camera use and video calls are all worth checking when drain occurs mainly during those activities. Shorten the session or close the task when finished, and review whether the screen or mobile connection needs to remain active. These are diagnostic possibilities, not proof that any one activity is causing a particular V80’s drain. vivo’s battery and power troubleshooting index lists these scenarios.

If the phone loses charge while idle
Look for background apps, connected wearables and weak mobile signal. Compare the battery-usage list over a typical standby period. If coverage is poor, try a period on stable Wi-Fi or, where available, 4G instead of 5G and see whether the pattern changes; the result depends on your location and usage.
Use Battery Saver for a temporary runtime boost
Turn on Battery Saver when getting through the day matters more than keeping every background feature active. vivo’s guide says the mode can limit or turn off background activity, some visual effects, certain features and some network connections. App updates and other behavior may be affected, and the exact options can differ by software build. Check the mode’s description on your phone before relying on it for timely alerts or background tasks.

Try display and connectivity adjustments
The India-market V80 product page lists a 144 Hz display. If your software offers a lower refresh-rate setting, try it and compare battery use over similar days; the available setting and any saving are not established for every V80 build. Lowering brightness or shortening screen timeout are other practical experiments if they suit your habits. These are optional trade-offs, not measured V80-specific savings.

If drain coincides with weak mobile coverage or extended 5G use, compare similar periods with a stable Wi-Fi connection or 4G where available. Keep the setting that provides the coverage and performance you need; a single comparison cannot establish a universal result.

Check what the V80’s battery figures actually mean
vivo’s India-market V80 product page lists a typical battery capacity of 7200 mAh and a rated capacity of 7015 mAh. Those are vendor specifications, not a guarantee of how long a particular phone will last between charges.
The same page advertises laboratory figures of 14 hours of navigation and 39.5 hours of local video playback. vivo specifies single-app operations or standby conditions, a fully charged phone and a laboratory temperature of 23°±2°C; these are not predictions of mixed-use runtime. vivo also says, “Actual battery life is subject to actual usage and may vary due to environmental and other factors.”

After an update, recheck rather than guessing
If unusually high consumption began after a system update, review the battery list during normal use and check whether the phone offers an official update. vivo’s support index includes a topic on high consumption after an update, but does not establish a fixed settling period or promise that an update will resolve the problem. Use the usage data on your own phone to see whether the drain continues.

Temperature affects battery performance, and screen-on time and many active background apps raise consumption, according to vivo’s battery guidance. Avoid extreme heat and heavy use while charging as sensible care, but do not treat either step as a quantified V80 runtime improvement.

If runtime has steadily declined over the phone’s life, repeated charging and discharging may have reduced battery capacity. Ask an official vivo service center in your market to inspect it; do not open or replace the built-in battery at home. Service terms depend on location.
Use a power bank only when you need a recharge away from an outlet
A USB-C power bank can provide another charging opportunity, but it does not make the V80 last longer on a charge. vivo’s India page advertises up to 90W with the vivo standard charger and says charging power is dynamically adjusted and depends on use and external factors. It does not establish that a generic power bank will deliver that rate, so check compatibility and the power bank’s own specifications.
