To make your Galaxy S26 Ultra last longer between charges, first check which apps are using power, then adjust the screen and background activity that matter most to your routine. Use Power saving when you need extra runtime, and treat Battery Protection as a separate setting for long-term battery care. Menu labels can vary by software version and device configuration.
Find what is draining the battery first
Open Settings > Battery and review battery consumption. Samsung says this screen can help identify apps using the most power. Start with unusually high-use apps and those active in the background rather than changing every setting at once.

Samsung also offers background usage limits, including sleeping apps, which are prevented from operating in the background and therefore use less power. Check an app’s role before limiting it: messaging, health, navigation, and security apps may need background access to work as expected. A bright display and a long screen timeout can substantially reduce battery life. Lower brightness to a comfortable level and shorten the timeout so the screen turns off sooner when idle. If you do not need it, adjust or turn off Always On Display.

Samsung also lists lower screen resolution and Dark Mode as possible adjustments. These are preference trade-offs, not required fixes: choose them only if the visual change suits you. Wallpaper choice may also be adjusted as part of Samsung’s display-related battery suggestions.
Use Power saving when its limits are acceptable
Enable Power saving from the Quick panel, or search Settings for “Power saving” if the control is not visible. Samsung allows its settings to be adjusted, so review what will be restricted before relying on it.

Battery Saver can limit background activity, connections, and features; some apps or visual effects may be delayed or reduced. Turn it on when the additional runtime is worth those compromises, rather than assuming it is the best everyday setting for everyone. Google describes these effects in its Android battery guidance.

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS can be disabled when they are not in use, and Airplane mode is an option when you do not need connectivity. These are situational steps: keep the connections you rely on for calls, messages, navigation, accessories, or other essential functions.

Long navigation sessions, prolonged GPS use, streaming video, graphics-heavy games, video playback, and tethering can all use substantial power, according to Google. If the phone is draining quickly during one of these activities, reducing the activity or taking a break may be more practical than disabling a connection needed to do it.
Consider the Light performance profile if it appears
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra support page mentions a Light performance profile intended to reduce heat and improve battery efficiency. The support information available does not establish a specific menu path, trade-offs, or a measured battery-life gain for the S26 Ultra.

If the option is available, look under Device care or search Settings for “Light performance.” Check the description on your phone before enabling it; do not expect a guaranteed or quantified improvement.

Use Battery Protection for long-term battery care
Battery Protection is aimed at battery care over time, not at extending the current charge. Samsung recommends aiming to keep a smartphone between 20% and 80% charged and says you do not need to wait for the battery to run out before charging. This is manufacturer guidance, not a guarantee of a particular battery lifespan.

Samsung describes Basic, Maximum, and Adaptive Battery Protection. Which choices and exact behavior appear can vary by device and software version. Search Settings for “Battery protection” and read the descriptions shown on the phone to choose an option that fits your charging habits. Samsung’s guidance also cautions that leaving a phone charged to 100% for a long period can reduce battery lifespan.
When settings are not enough
Battery use varies with apps, signal conditions, settings, software, and what you do on the phone. The sources cited here do not establish an independently measured Galaxy S26 Ultra runtime or a reliable percentage improvement for any single adjustment, so a specific number of extra hours cannot be promised.
If you need more time away from an outlet, a USB-C power bank can supply extra stored energy; it does not make the phone’s battery more efficient or improve its long-term health. Check connector compatibility, output standards, capacity, and local availability before buying one.
