The most reliable way to host Beyond My Hero is to install the exact modpack release your group will play, then deploy it through a Minecraft panel that supports the pack. The currently indexed My Hero Beyond 7/13 release contains 105 mods for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge 47.4.10. Managed hosts can install it from a catalogue, while self-hosting requires a matching dedicated-server package or a server procedure from the pack author; a normal client download is not automatically a server.

Start with the same release, Minecraft version, Forge loader, manifest and override files for both server and players. Provider guidance puts a practical starting point at 5–6 GB of RAM, but that is hosting advice rather than an official requirement. Increase resources after observing memory use, tick time and crash logs with your actual player count and world size.

What Beyond My Hero is and why version matching matters

Beyond My Hero is a Minecraft modpack built around the My Hero Academia theme. The release currently indexed as My Hero Beyond 7/13 targets Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge 47.4.10 and lists 105 mods (Modpacks.ch, 2026). Earlier files exist for Minecraft 1.16.5 and 1.18.1 in the CurseForge history. Those are different server builds, not interchangeable updates.

A modded server checks the loader and the installed mod set during connection. If one player uses a 1.16.5 file while the server runs 1.20.1, the connection will fail before joining. Even when Minecraft and Forge appear correct, a different modpack release can change mod versions, configuration files, registries or world-generation data. Choose one release first and make every installation from that same release.

The current indexed release

Item Value What it means
Pack release My Hero Beyond 7/13 Use the identical release on the server and every client.
Minecraft 1.20.1 Do not substitute 1.16.5 or 1.18.1 files.
Mod loader Forge 47.4.10 Players need the matching Forge loader, not just the Minecraft version.
Mod count 105 Expect more memory and startup work than a lightly modded server.

The release listing does not identify a separate official server download. Check the release notes and the pack author’s instructions before attempting a dedicated server. Keep the manifest and any overrides with the release files so you can reproduce the same installation later.

Choose a hosting route

Managed Minecraft hosting

A managed panel is usually the shortest path for a small group. The provider runs the operating system, Java process, network service and storage; you select the pack, allocate resources and use the panel for files, backups and restarts. This avoids exposing a home computer and generally gives you a web interface for access control.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

ScalaCube documents this installation path: obtain a Minecraft server, open Servers → Game servers → Add Game Server → Beyond My Hero, install the pack and start the instance. CreeperHost also advertises one-click pack installation and a dedicated Beyond My Hero service. Catalogue availability can change, so confirm that the panel offers the exact release you intend to run rather than a similarly named older file.

Self-hosting at home

Home hosting gives you control over files and costs, but you must supply a suitable computer, stable upload bandwidth, firewall rules, backups and ongoing maintenance. You also need a server package or documented server procedure for the selected release. The client folder downloaded by a player is not proof that a dedicated server exists.

Virtual private server

A VPS sits between managed hosting and a home server. You administer the operating system and Minecraft process, while the provider supplies the virtual machine and datacenter network. It can work well when you need full file access, but you still have to install the correct Java runtime, Forge server, pack files, service manager, firewall and backup process. Because no canonical Beyond My Hero Java requirement or startup template is established, verify those details for the exact release before deployment.

How much RAM and CPU do you need?

There is no universal official RAM number for Beyond My Hero. Published host figures are sizing guidance for their own service. CreeperHost lists a minimum of 5,000 MB RAM, a minimum CPU allocation of 2 × 4.5 GHz and 15 GB of SSD storage for its Beyond My Hero offering (2026). MintServers states a 6 GB minimum for its configuration (2026). Treat these as starting points, not guaranteed performance or a pack-author specification.

Resource Published guidance How to apply it
Memory 5,000 MB minimum at CreeperHost; 6 GB minimum at MintServers Begin in the 5–6 GB range for a small group, then adjust from observed usage.
CPU 2 × 4.5 GHz minimum listed by CreeperHost Prioritize strong per-core performance; simulation ticks are sensitive to CPU speed.
Storage 15 GB SSD listed by CreeperHost Reserve additional space for world growth, logs, backups and rollback copies.

When to add memory

  • Several players explore different, previously generated areas at once.
  • The world contains large numbers of entities, machines or continuously loaded chunks.
  • The server log shows out-of-memory errors or repeated garbage-collection pauses.
  • The host reports memory exhaustion even though the Java heap appears correctly configured.

Adding RAM cannot repair a CPU bottleneck, a broken mod or a slow disk. Watch the server’s tick time, CPU usage, heap graph and logs together. Increase one resource at a time so you can identify the cause of an improvement or a regression.

Managed-host setup: step by step

1. Select and record the release

  1. Agree with your players on one Beyond My Hero release.
  2. Write down the Minecraft version, Forge version and pack release number. For the indexed current release, record Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.10 and My Hero Beyond 7/13.
  3. Confirm that the provider’s installer offers that release or explicitly supports importing its manifest and overrides.

2. Create the server and allocate resources

  1. Create a Minecraft instance in the provider panel.
  2. Choose an SSD-backed plan with at least the published baseline you are using as a starting point: 5,000 MB RAM from the CreeperHost guidance or 6 GB from the MintServers guidance.
  3. Check the plan’s CPU share, storage limit, player-slot policy and upgrade path before paying. A plan that advertises RAM without a clear CPU allocation may perform poorly under exploration.

3. Install Beyond My Hero

  1. Use the panel’s game or modpack installer rather than uploading a random client directory.
  2. In ScalaCube’s documented interface, go to Servers → Game servers → Add Game Server → Beyond My Hero.
  3. Select the exact release if the panel lists multiple files. If it only lists an older Minecraft or Forge combination, stop and find a provider or import method that matches your group.
  4. Allow the installer to finish before changing configuration files. Record the installed release in your server notes.

4. Configure access and operations

  1. Set yourself as an administrator using the panel’s console or documented operator control.
  2. Enable a whitelist and add each player’s account name before opening the server publicly.
  3. Schedule automatic backups and verify where they are stored, how long they are retained and whether they count against your disk quota.
  4. Set a restart schedule during a quiet period. Announce restarts so players do not lose progress during a save.
  5. Leave automatic pack updates disabled until you have checked client compatibility and made a backup.

5. Perform a private join test

  1. Install the same pack release, Minecraft version and Forge loader on one test client.
  2. Join while the server is still private. Travel, open inventories, use the pack’s core abilities and generate new terrain.
  3. Review the console and crash logs after the test. Fix errors before inviting the whole group.

Self-hosting or VPS: a safe deployment sequence

Because an official Beyond My Hero server archive, canonical port, Java version and universal configuration template are not established, self-hosting must begin with release-specific documentation. Do not expose a partially configured process to the internet while you search for missing files.

1. Obtain the correct server files

  1. Ask the pack author or consult the selected release notes for a dedicated-server package or documented installation procedure.
  2. Verify that the package identifies the same Minecraft and Forge versions as your clients.
  3. Keep the manifest, overrides, configuration directory and server files together. Do not merge folders from the 1.16.5, 1.18.1 and 1.20.1 releases.

2. Prepare the machine

  • Use a supported 64-bit operating system with enough free SSD space for the server, world, logs and several backups.
  • Install the Java runtime specified by the exact Forge and pack documentation. Do not guess the Java major version from another Minecraft release.
  • Create a dedicated, non-administrator operating-system account for the server process.
  • Apply operating-system updates and restrict inbound traffic with a firewall.

3. Install and test Forge

  1. Run the Forge server installer supplied or specified for the selected release.
  2. Start the server locally first so it can generate its configuration and the end-user license file.
  3. Accept the license only after reading the file and confirming you are using the intended server directory.
  4. Stop the process cleanly, copy in the pack’s server files and start it again while watching the log for missing mods, dependency errors or registry failures.

A generic Java launch command is not safe to publish for every Beyond My Hero release because the required Java version, Forge installer output and memory flags are not canonical. Use the command generated by the matching Forge installation or the host’s documentation, then set the minimum and maximum heap to values your machine can actually sustain.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

4. Network and security

  1. Choose the port specified by the server documentation. No canonical Beyond My Hero port has been established, so do not assume the default Minecraft port without checking your Forge setup.
  2. Allow that port through the operating-system firewall only for the required protocol.
  3. If hosting at home, configure router port forwarding to the server’s fixed local address and confirm that your internet service permits inbound connections.
  4. Keep the whitelist enabled, use strong operator credentials and never share console access with players.

5. Backups and recovery

  1. Stop the server or use a documented save-and-backup function before copying the world.
  2. Keep at least one backup away from the server machine or VPS.
  3. Test restoring a backup into a separate directory. A backup that has never been restored is only an assumption.
  4. Record the pack release with each backup so you do not restore a 1.20.1 world into a 1.16.5 or 1.18.1 installation.

What every player must install

Send players a short, unambiguous installation note containing the pack release, Minecraft version and Forge loader. For the indexed release, that means My Hero Beyond 7/13, Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge 47.4.10. Tell players to launch the pack once before joining so required configuration files can be generated.

  • Do not mix a client profile from one release with a server from another.
  • Do not add optional mods until the group has a clean, reproducible baseline.
  • Do not copy a friend’s entire client folder into the server directory; client-only mods and settings can prevent a dedicated server from starting.
  • When a player receives a mod-list mismatch, compare the release and loader first, then compare the manifest and overrides.

How to compare hosting providers

Price alone does not tell you whether a modded server will be practical. Record the date of every comparison because plans, limits and catalogues change. The following checklist covers the differences that affect Beyond My Hero most.

Comparison point Questions to ask
Pack support Is the exact Beyond My Hero release available, or only an older Minecraft/Forge file?
CPU Is the allocation dedicated, shared, or expressed only as a vague frequency?
RAM What is guaranteed, what is burstable, and can it be upgraded without rebuilding?
Storage Is it SSD or NVMe, and does the quota include backups and logs?
Backups How often are they made, how many are retained, and can you download them?
Network protection Is DDoS protection included, and are there bandwidth or fair-use limits?
Location Is there a datacenter close to most players, and can the location be changed?
Slots Are player slots enforced, and does the provider charge for each additional slot?
File and config access Can you edit configs, upload overrides and inspect crash logs without support intervention?
Updates Are pack updates automatic, optional, or manual? Can you roll back?
Support Does support troubleshoot Forge and mod errors, or only the underlying machine?
Cancellation What happens to the world files and backups when the service is cancelled?

OuiHeberg lists multiple tiers, backups, DDoS protection and 24/7 support. Those are provider claims; confirm the exact retention period, CPU allocation, location and support scope in the current plan. CreeperHost describes its offer with the marketing line “Your Beyond My Hero server, with the useful bits included.” Treat that wording as advertising, and verify the technical limits in the plan documentation.

Troubleshooting common failures

The server will not start

  • Confirm that the Forge loader and Minecraft version match the selected pack release.
  • Check the first error in the log, not only the final “server stopped” line. Missing dependencies and Java incompatibilities are usually reported earlier.
  • Remove files added from another release and restore the original manifest and overrides.
  • Ask the host whether its installer deployed a client profile instead of a dedicated server package.

Players see a mod-list or version mismatch

  • Compare the server’s release number with the player’s launcher profile.
  • Compare Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge 47.4.10 exactly, including the Forge build number.
  • Have the player create a fresh profile from the same manifest instead of patching an old profile.

Joining works but the game lags

  • Check tick time and CPU load before adding RAM.
  • Reduce simultaneous exploration and entity-heavy activities while testing.
  • Move to a plan with stronger per-core CPU performance or increase the CPU allocation if the host allows it.
  • Generate a backup before changing configuration values so you can revert safely.

The world or a region is corrupted

  1. Stop the server and preserve the current world directory for diagnosis.
  2. Restore the newest known-good backup made with the same pack release.
  3. Test the restored copy privately before replacing the live world.
  4. Do not downgrade the pack or remove world-generation mods in an attempt to repair a save; that can cause additional registry and chunk errors.

Players cannot connect from outside the network

  • Verify that the server process is listening on the documented port.
  • Check the operating-system firewall and, for home hosting, the router forwarding rule.
  • Confirm that the internet connection provides a reachable public address and does not place you behind carrier-grade NAT.
  • Ask the host or internet provider whether inbound traffic is filtered.

A practical launch checklist

  1. Choose one release and record its Minecraft and Forge versions.
  2. Confirm a dedicated-server package or provider installer for that release.
  3. Allocate at least the cited 5–6 GB starting range, then monitor real usage.
  4. Use SSD storage with room for the world, logs and tested backups.
  5. Set the whitelist, administrator access and restart schedule.
  6. Install the identical client profile for one tester and complete a private join.
  7. Check logs, tick performance and backup restoration before inviting everyone.
  8. Document the installed release and every configuration change.

What is still release-dependent

Some deployment details cannot be stated safely as universal Beyond My Hero instructions. No canonical port, Java version, official dedicated-server archive, startup command or pack-wide RAM requirement is established for every release. Confirm each item against the exact pack files and the chosen host’s current documentation. This is especially important when a panel offers several Beyond My Hero entries: the name alone does not prove that the Minecraft and Forge versions match your clients.
