There is no established formula or benchmark that guarantees growth for this niche; treat each change as an experiment and build around the listeners who actually find and return to your stream.
1. Clear the music rights before you stream
Use original performances, commissioned recordings or recordings covered by written permission for the uses you plan. A track being available online, a composition being public domain, or a copy being purchased does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast the sound recording. Check separately that your rights cover live transmission, monetization if applicable, and any saved archive or on-demand version. Keep permission records and required attribution details alongside the audio files.

YouTube says live streams may be restricted when they receive a copyright strike or match another copyrighted live broadcast. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music. Review YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance and YouTube for Artists before launch; rights and platform policies can change.

Describe the sound and use honestly
Tell prospective listeners what they will hear and when it may suit them: Indian flute or bansuri for meditation, quiet breath practice or background listening. Name a raga, accompanying instrument or particular style only when it is accurate. Avoid medical or “healing” claims unless you can substantiate them.

Make the destination recognizable
Use a concise title, an uncluttered thumbnail and a description that explains the stream is continuously available. Make the visual identity consistent so returning listeners can recognize it. YouTube for Artists recommends a consistent streaming schedule to foster familiarity; applying that principle to a 24/7 destination means keeping its purpose and presentation steady, not promising that the stream is a live performance.
3. Prepare and test the live setup
- Confirm live access: In YouTube Studio, check that live streaming is enabled for the channel and that the account meets current eligibility and policy requirements. YouTube Help lists restrictions and active-stream limits, so verify the current rules before planning a continuous schedule: YouTube live-streaming Help.
- Set up the destination: Create or schedule the live stream in YouTube Studio and check its title, description, thumbnail and audience settings before sending viewers to it.
- Test privately first: Run an unlisted test through the complete audio and video chain. Listen for clipping, silence, abrupt transitions and unwanted gaps; check that the visual remains suitable for long listening sessions.
- Monitor the live output: Confirm the stream is reaching YouTube and that the audio remains present and intelligible. Check stream status and rights notifications rather than assuming that a running encoder means the public stream is healthy.
YouTube for Artists recommends testing an unlisted stream before a higher-investment launch. The official guidance does not establish a guaranteed uptime method or prescribe a particular computer, encoder or cloud service for a 24/7 Indian flute stream.

4. Choose a format based on how people will watch
Horizontal and vertical live streams offer different discovery and interaction trade-offs. YouTube’s feature comparison may change, so check the current Help page when choosing a format.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
| Consideration | Horizontal live | Vertical live feed |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery | Traditional live presentation; the reviewed Help comparison does not list Shorts-feed discovery. | Can appear in the Shorts feed, where viewers scroll through content. |
| Viewing and links | Fits a wide visual or TV-style composition; clickable chat and description links are available. | Designed for mobile discovery; the Help comparison lists no clickable links in chat or description. |
| Features listed in YouTube Help’s comparison | Pre-roll and mid-roll live ads, Premiere and Live Redirect are listed. | Those features are not listed for vertical in the comparison; memberships and gifted memberships appear for both. |
| Dual streaming | YouTube for Artists describes sending horizontal and vertical versions from one broadcast using desktop dual streaming. | When dual streamed, it shares the same live chat. |
For a flute meditation stream, a wide, calm visual may suit TV-style listening, while a vertical version may offer a Shorts-feed discovery route. Neither format is established as the winner for this niche. Compare your own discovery and viewing patterns before committing to one.

5. Promote a continuous stream without pretending it is an event
Use multiple entry points
Explain the destination in Community posts and other social channels, and share reminders when you add a new recording or arrange a scheduled listening moment. YouTube for Artists recommends promotional reminders, Shorts associated with live content and post-stream highlights. For a continuous stream, test short clips that introduce the music and point to the live destination rather than implying that an unattended broadcast is a daily live performance.
Create reasons to return
Consider occasional, clearly scheduled moments such as a musician joining live, a themed listening hour or a new recording premiere. These can give viewers a reason to revisit while keeping the always-on stream’s promise clear. Treat the cadence as something to test, not a YouTube requirement.

Build an on-demand library where rights allow
Keep useful past sessions available on demand if your permissions cover them, organize recordings in relevant playlists and make strong highlights easy to find. Google’s live-production guide recommends relevant playlists, a live archive shelf, metadata updates and analytics review. Respond to comments or chat when someone is available; do not promise active moderation if nobody is monitoring the stream. See YouTube’s live-streaming guidance.

Use YouTube Studio analytics to understand how people discover and experience the stream. Google’s live-production guidance recommends reviewing view-through rate, drop-off points, comments and concurrent viewers. For a continuous broadcast, also keep a practical record of interruptions and audience patterns by time of day; these are useful operating measures, not official growth benchmarks.

YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That platform-wide figure is context, not a forecast for a new channel or this music niche; no niche-specific 24/7 growth benchmark is established.

Do-it-yourself operation
A self-managed setup means keeping the playback and broadcasting system running, maintaining the internet connection and checking that YouTube continues to receive the stream. Test the full chain privately, monitor the live output and have someone able to respond to failures. YouTube’s official resources do not specify a particular encoder, device or configuration as the right choice for this use case, so confirm the requirements for the software and equipment you select rather than relying on a generic setting.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube cloud service for keeping a channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, then go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Every slot streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it includes 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping, playlists and StreamNeo team support. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. The Monthly price is $9.99 per month. Start the free day with StreamNeo.
Common problems and practical fixes
- The stream is blocked or interrupted for copyright: Check YouTube Studio notifications and resolve the claim or restriction with the relevant rights holder. Confirm that your permission covers the recording and the intended live and archived uses.
- The stream is not available to start: Check whether live access is enabled and whether the account meets current eligibility and policy requirements. Recheck YouTube Help, since limits and access conditions can change.
- Viewers report silence or poor audio: Listen to the public output, inspect the full playback chain and test transitions in an unlisted stream before changing the public schedule.
- People click but do not stay: Compare viewing duration and drop-off points, then test one change to the promise, visual or audio sequence. Do not assume a title or thumbnail alone explains the result.
- Discovery is limited: Try a distinct short clip, a Community post or a scheduled listening moment as an additional entry point, then compare results over time. No source establishes a guaranteed discovery tactic for this niche.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get permission to use music in a 24/7 stream?
Get permission from the relevant rights holder or label/distributor that explicitly covers live streaming and any archive or on-demand use you plan. Keep the documentation and attribution requirements with the recordings.
How can I tell whether the stream is bringing viewers back?
Review returning viewers and audience patterns over time in YouTube Studio, alongside comments and concurrent viewers. Keep a dated log of changes and avoid drawing conclusions from one short-term fluctuation.
