A 24/7 meditation stream can make a practice available whenever someone is ready to join, but continuous uptime is not a shortcut to YouTube recommendations or guaranteed growth. Treat it as one format to test alongside scheduled sessions, edited meditations and Shorts. Let your channel’s own audience data—not assumptions about India as a single market—guide the languages, times and formats you develop.
Start with YouTube’s live-stream requirements
Before planning a continuous broadcast, confirm that the channel can livestream. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. The creator must be at least 16, and broadcasts must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Check the current requirements and access in YouTube Studio before building a schedule around a feature.

Make the stream clear to a first-time viewer
Use a title and description that tell people what the meditation actually offers. Name the practice, language and format accurately—for example, a guided morning meditation in Hindi or an ambient breath practice, if that is what is playing. Explain what viewers will hear and whether conversation or chat participation is part of the experience.

A 2024 peer-reviewed study of live meditation found that unclear session information, distractions and antisocial behavior could be challenges. Clear descriptions and a predictable experience are practical responses to those issues, not guarantees of audience growth.

Test discovery formats instead of assuming one will win
Compare horizontal and vertical live output
Where the channel has access, YouTube’s Live Control Room can support simultaneous horizontal and vertical livestreams. YouTube says a dual-format broadcast shares one URL and chat. Vertical livestreams can appear in the Shorts feed, while horizontal streams retain some different capabilities, including clickable links and live pre-roll and mid-roll ads. Check the current feature set and availability in Studio before deciding which format to use.
Preview the vertical crop before going live. A layout designed for a wide screen may cut off text or obscure the visual focal point on a phone. Use the format controls in Live Control Room and make sure the meditation still looks calm and understandable in both shapes.

Treat new live features as conditional
YouTube has announced live highlights and cross-format improvements, as well as newer live tools, but announcements may describe features that are piloted or still rolling out. Confirm that a feature is available to your channel in Studio before relying on it. In an October 2026 announcement, YouTube said Live auto-dubbing was being piloted starting in early 2027; it is not a dependable localization plan for every creator today.
Give viewers a reason to return
Continuous availability can make it easier to join at a convenient moment, but the evidence does not establish that a 24/7 stream outperforms scheduled sessions or prerecorded practices. A 2024 study by Jingjin Li, Jiajing Guo and Gilly Leshed found that live meditation could help attendees establish a practice routine and connect with other meditators. It used a three-month audience autoethnography and follow-up interviews with 10 experienced live meditation teachers; those findings are not an India-wide audience study.

One test is to build recognizable guided sessions into the continuous broadcast—for example, a recurring daily session—then compare how viewers respond with the channel’s other formats. Keep prompts and interaction unobtrusive while people are practicing. If chat becomes distracting or difficult to manage, set expectations clearly and arrange moderation support appropriate to the community.
Promote the schedule and measure what happens
YouTube’s production guidance recommends promoting a stream ahead of time and reviewing analytics after a broadcast. Even if the stream is always on, announce scheduled guided segments through Community posts or other channels available to you so viewers know when a particular session will happen.

Use metrics available in Studio to judge whether the format is working for your channel. Useful signals include live impressions and click-through where surfaced, concurrent viewers across time blocks, average view duration, retention, chat participation when appropriate, returning viewers and subscriber changes. For dual-format streams, YouTube says metrics are combined during and after the stream; vertical-only metrics become available 24 hours later.

Localize for the audience your channel actually reaches
India’s viewers should not be treated as one language, region or preferred listening time. The sources available here do not establish a best India-wide schedule or language for meditation streams. Check your channel’s audience geography and language engagement, then test localized titles, descriptions and audio alongside recurring session times. Change one element at a time where practical, so you can interpret the response rather than attributing every change to the whole package.
YouTube reported that over 30% of daily logged-in viewers watched live content in Q2 2025, a platform-wide figure, not a measure of Indian meditation demand. In an October 2026 announcement, it reported an average of more than 600 million logged-in viewers watching live content, including archives, each day in August 2026. These separately dated global figures describe YouTube overall; neither predicts whether a particular channel or meditation stream will be recommended.
